| As she stood there, Ariel panicked, looking at herself in the mirror. The pink ballgown she'd decided to wear, along with teal and gold starfish earrings, was spectacular - maybe even too much, really. She didn't know if Eric would go for it, maybe he preferred less of an exuberant and loud look, but Ariel felt beautiful. That was all that counted, right? It should have been, but she couldn't help but hope he thought she was beautiful, too.
Ariel picked up the mask from her bed and carried it over to her mirror, slipping it on her nose and tying it in back. It was a gorgeous teal number with gold stripes and a pink starfish with pink and gold rhinestones lining the top. She smiled at herself in the mirror, feeling complete with it on. She teased her hair once more with her fingers then finally left, anxiously making her way to the Palace of Hearts to meet Eric.
She leaned against the railing, waiting for him. She'd told him she'd be in pink and wearing something that reminded her of him. Ariel was sure he would know instantly who she was, and she would do the same for him, because all she would have to do is look into his eyes and know. There was no one else like him, and she knew she was lucky to be the one he wanted to be with.

Eric was excited. He had never been to a dance before. Well, he never remembered going to one before anyway. It seemed his life had been about two things- catching fish and meeting the most beautiful girl in existence. Whiled he loved to dance for fun with King and loved to be around people, Eric was solely going to the Ball for Ariel. This wasn't their first date, but he had a feeling it was going to be their most memorable. Tonight he wanted to commit his love for Ariel. There was no denying it. After the other dates, he believed she was the one for him and no other. Eric arrived in a navy blue tuxedo and wearing a mask that looked a bit like a dolphin, only it appeared more majestic than goofy. However, he would probably start laughing too if Ariel found it funny. He looked about for her and sighed as he thought he had arrived a bit too early. He soon discovered he was wrong as he saw her leaning against a railing. He smiled and approached her, giving a bow. He then rose and smiled, taking the sight of her in. "Hey," he said. "You look... well amazing."ARIEL NERINE MORGAN
