Ariel isn't a typical eighteen-year-old, really. She's very spunky and sassy, and she likes to go on adventurous. Ariel is rebellious and doesn't allow others to tell her what to do. She's determined and when she puts her mind to a task, it's surely to find conclusion due to her nerve. She's got a will to make things happen that others lack. She pursues her dreams and doesn't sit back and let life come to her - she seizes every opportunity that comes her way. Ariel's love and passion for life is what draws her to adventure and excitement. She loves to discover new things and often leads the way to that discovery. She fears not the newness of unfamiliar things or activities. Oftentimes she's considered reckless in that regard, but it's simply the way she is.

There are loads of things that Ariel enjoys. She absolutely adores to sing, finding that it is the key that unlocks her soul. Ariel also really enjoys all things related to the ocean. She loves discovering new types of fish and swimming with dolphins. She's very comfortable in the water, but that's not to say she doesn't like the land, either. She loves how beautiful the sea is, but she'd much rather be on land with her friends. She is not one who likes to be alone. Ariel would give up everything to be with her loved ones, even if it meant giving up her favorite things. Being alone is not who she is. She is a very outgoing and giggly person, and she loves to share her life with others.

As with everyone, there are things Ariel doesn't like, as well. She is extremely afraid of spiders and snakes, and any other insect-type of bug. She also doesn't really like the dark, either. In fact, Ariel sleeps with a lantern on throughout the night and, while it might be dangerous, she doesn't have a choice in the matter. She can't sleep without some sort of light source. Ariel's fear of the dark is the only thing that gets in the way of her adventures, though. As long as someone is with her in the dark she's fine, but if she is alone, therein lies the problem.

Such things develop throughout the childhood and upbringing of a person. As a consequence of the curse, of course, Ariel doesn't remember her life as a mermaid in the sea, or of finding her true love in Eric. It still exists, though, just not in her mind. She was raised by King Triton along with her many other sisters. She loved the sea and her friends there, but of course once she saved Prince Eric, Ariel became obsessed with gaining him in her life. Through strife and struggle, Ariel finally made her dreams come true by marrying her prince and venturing into happily ever after.
[break][break]
The curse, however, changed all that. Ariel has no recollection of her previous life as a mermaid, and she doesn't remember Eric. Ariel believes something bad happened to make her not be able to remember her past life, but she attempts every day to think of what was before this life in Wonderland. Wonderland is a curious place, and sometimes the fact that she is on a new adventure overwhelms her distraught of not being able to remember things. She loves finding new places and meeting new people, and the fact that Wonderland is so vast and full of newness brings Ariel happiness. She's got her own place in The Village with a friend, and every day she discovers something new - either about the world around her or herself.
[break][break]
Ariel doesn't live in a harsh environment or have hard feelings about not being able to remember her past. Although she would like to know who she is and where she came from, she is adjusting quite well to Wonderland and the new friends she's making there. She hopes that in time she will be able to remember all that was before, but until then, she simply goes on about her life, waiting for the day that she can remember all of the things that she's lost.
