Zhou had been instructed to show the newest recruit around the place, alright not a hard task to do. The day was bright and sunny yet the Queen or anyone really wasn't taking part in a came of croquet. So it was the best time to show this new guard the croquet courtyard without worry of too many problems arising. Those weird birds used in the game though were a problem. They didn't like to stay put and often Zhou found himself being pestered by the pink one. In fact a glance over his shoulder and...there it was! The guard merely moved away and tried to turn his focus to the task at hand. Though his gaze soon caught someone entering the courtyard wearing the standard uniform. "Hey, over here!" Zhou called out to em, once they were in front of em he would continue. "You're Ping right? I'm Zhou Hua, though you can me Zhou. Captain's instructed me to show ya around the place so you know where the stations are here at the palace in case you get positioned here. Any questions before we get started?" [googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] HONOR TO US ALL [attr="class","next"] Mulan remembered. That was the hardest part. She remembered her family, her friends, everyone, but they had no idea who she was. To them, she was just another face in the crowd. Sliding her sword into her sheath she walked into the courtyard at the castle. Today was her first day on the job — and she was supposed to be meeting one of her commanding officers here. One of the flamingos instantly flocked to her, rubbing its beak against her side. It made her laugh — they were just after attention. "A bright day today, flamingo!" Leaning down, she petted the birds’ feathers until she realized someone was talking to her. Her eyes instantly looked up as she saw a younger man standing near the entrance of the courtyard. He was handsome, but there was something about him that seemed…familiar. “Hi—“ Her voice was too high again. One of these days, she would get the voice down pat. “Uh…yes, sir. Ping Fa.” She held out her hand to the man and when he went to grab it she realized. It suddenly dawned on her why he looked so familiar. “Father?” Had she said that out loud? Immediately, she went pink in the face as she struggled to back track. “I only mean that you…erm…” She coughed loudly. “You look like my father, sir. But you’re not…my father….” She was making it worse. Every word that fell from her mouth was making this whole situation worse. Mulan wanted to crawl into a hole and make it all go away. She wanted to pretend that she had never started pretending she was Ping. But this had been the whole reason, hadn’t it? To protect her family…but she had never once for a second considered her father was anything other than the older man that he had been in China. She had so many questions. Was he alright? Where had he been? Had he been at the castle the whole time? This explained why she hadn’t found him — she had been looking down in the village where she had assumed he was living a happy life with mother. “How are you?” She asked, her voice suddenly extraordinarily gentle. She caught her mistake almost instantly, “Sir.”

Zhou didn't even really register the higher pitch to Ping's voice it was when they were shaking hands that he took notice of one thing. He called him father. His eyes went wide as he merely stared at them. Why the heck would they think that? He couldn't be older than this newbie. "Well I can certainly say that I'm not, must be the beard trying to grow in. Apparantly it makes me look older." Zhou said as he released Ping's hand. "I'm rather well, yourself? Don't be too nervous, you'll get used to it rather quick I managed to right off the bat oddly enough. It just feels right." It felt right considering he was once a great war hero from a war that took place when Ping...Mulan was but a babe. A infant incapable of understanding the danger of the world but could see only it's beauty. Being a guard, now much younger and without his injury prior to the curse he was able to do things again. He gestured for Ping to walk with him and they would notice, no limping. He walked with strong steps, confidence, and held high in his own way with healthy limbs. "Alright, this here is the courtyard where the Queen and others play croquet though oddly enough with these birds." Zhou started, pointing to the different colored flamingos. "Now our stations here are rather obvious, the front gate, back gate, and those doors that lead back into the palace. Now there isn't a vantage point of any sorts so there's always two guards assigned to each entry way. With me so far?" MULAN ZHU FA(Yes it is. lol)
