Simba had a lot on his mind. He always had a lot on his mind though- his family, the community, his various projects. As the Leader of the Community, it was his job to have a lot on his mind. But today there was something more, something that had been there since he had ran into the boy who had tried to steal food from the Community. There was something dark about the boy, but something about him that cried for help too. And Simba did try to help him, only to have the boy turn him down. He allowed the boy to walk away, but now wondered if it was the best idea. Would he come back? Would he start trouble when he came back? Would he bring others? Simba stepped into his home. Home was always a beautiful place for him. It was a place where his cares calmed a bit. It was the place where he could be with his beautiful wife Nala, his beautiful daughter Kiara, and leave the world outside. So many wonderful memories came from this house in the short time he had remembered things. He stepped over and sat down on the sofa, sighing a bit. NALA SARAFINA PRIDE

Nala had been out and about running around the grounds. Running seemed to be something she really loved to do and she had been feeling a bit closed in so she had decided to go for a run. She had started wearing tennisshoes but at some point she took them off, wanting to feel the ground beneath her bare feet. She had just finished taking a shower to feel clean and relaxed when she came in to the living room to see her husband sitting on the couch.
He looked troubled for some reason so she walked over to the couch and she plopped down playfully on to his lap, putting her arms around his neck and looking him in the eyes. "What's wrong my love?" She asked him with a loving but concerned expression.

If there was one thing that could snap Simba out of his funk, it was when his beautiful wife got a bit playful. She "pounced" on him... well in a sense. He wasn't sure why that word came to find, but he found it funny and somewhat appropriate. He placed his arms around her waist when she placed hers around his neck. He found that he couldn't help but smile as she looked into her beautiful eyes. Simba tried to remember how and when he met Nala, but he really couldn't. But he did remember looking into those eyes so many times and knowing he loved this woman. When she asked what was wrong, he sighed again. He knew his wife would probably not be too pleased with his news, but if there was anyone he could talk about anything to, it was Nala. And besides, he would have to bring it up to the Fields Council soon anyway. He smiled at her and stroked her cheek. "Well before I get into that, I just want to tell you again how beautiful you are and how lucky I am," he said. He then leaned in and kissed her. "But now to the bad news. I caught a thief in the Fields earlier today, a young man."NALA SARAFINA PRIDE

Nala returned Simba's kiss and then listened as he complimented her saying how beatiful she was and that he was lucky. "Well, you are very lucky." she said playfully. "But I am the luckiest one of us two. Handsome and strong leader for a husband after all. Not to mention the most kind and caring person I know." she said with a smile.
She frowned when he said he caught a thief in the fields earlier in the day. "A thief?" she said surprised. "Not many would risk offending you." she said thoughtfully. "And a young man at that." she said. "Did you catch him?" she asked wanting to know more about what happened.

Simba smiled back at Nala when she complimented him. He was a very mature man, and did not have an ego, so he was always amazed and humbled by how such a beautiful and amazing woman thought so highly of him. He was certainly blessed to have her as a wife and for them to have such a wonderful daughter in Kiara. "I simply try my best to do what I can when I can," he said. "But I am nothing without you beside me. You inspire me every day." He then kissed her again. He wished the entire conversation could be this pleasant, but community matters needed to be discussed and he often turned to Nala for those before anyone else. When Nala asked if Simba caught him, Simba sighed. "I caught him... then let him go," he said. "It was a boy stealing food. Not a whole lot, but despite him saying otherwise, I knew that he needed it, possibly his family too. I even offered to help him do something honest, but he turned me down." Simba then sighed again. "I did warn him though... if he came back here with ill intent, I would have to take action. Regardless of whatever his needs are, we can't have the community living in fear of thieves."NALA SARAFINA PRIDE

Nala returned Simba's kiss again and ran a hand through his hair. She pulled back to look at her husband. "Well, you know I'll be beside you through anything and everything." she didn't remember when they were younger but she was sure they had been best of friends even before husband and wife as she trusted him completely and he seemed to trust her the same. They were Husband and Wife but best of friends and she truly loved him.
She listened as he recounted what happened with the boy he had caught stealing. She thought it over. "You are worreid about letting him go? Or that he will return and force your hand?" she asked him knowing he was concerned about his decision in some way or another.

Simba knew Nala was true to her word. They had done so much together. They had built the Fields from the ground up. She was just as much of a leader to these people as he was. And the people there could not ask for a fairer and wiser leader than her. Nala asked him some good questions. What was he really worried about? At the time, he felt he had made the right decision in letting the boy go. But yes, what if the boy cam back and stole again and being given a second chance? Could Simba be so kind? He had to think of his community, his family. As much as he wanted to help the boy, they came first. "I guess perhaps I'm concerned about both, depending on the outcome now," he said. "By giving him another chance, I could have wised him up a bit or just given him the opportunity to come back and steal again. And he could come back and do what? Accept my offer to help with the new project? Or will he come back with others?" Simba sighed. "If he does come back to cause trouble, I will have to action. We have to especially think of Kiara. I would hate to have her out alone with boys like that causing trouble." NALA SARAFINA PRIDE

Nala listened closely as Simba answered her questions, told her his fears and worries about letting the boy go. She could understand his worries, and part of her was a little worried about that as well, but she just smiled. "Simba, we can't just sit here and worry about what could or could not happen. If you're that worried about it then we need to make sure we can handle what is thrown at us, keep an eye out for the boy and make sure we can protect the people." she said.
"That being said, you did the right thing. Suppose there are others he can bring back here. What do you think would have happened had you imprisoned him instead?" she said. "The others would have likely come to break him out. So letting him go leads to more good than bad in just about any scenario we can come up with. Also, the boy was here to steal food, the boy must not me all that bad if he is worried about feeding his family. I would have done the same if I had to in order to feed our family." she said.
"And as far as our daughter goes, she is growing up, I have confidence in our parenting that she has grown up and is responsible enough to keep herself out of trouble. Then again, she is OUR daughter." she said the last part in a slightly joking sort of tone to try and lighten Simba's mood a little bit.

Simba listened to his wife's every word. She was right. He had to look at what COULD happen. What COULD be thrown at them as she put it. And of course he had to think about the people. He thought for a moment. "I need to speak with Elijah about this," he said. "It wouldn't hurt to increase security just a little. The fact that I caught this boy just as he was leaving the Fields tells us he was clever enough to sleep by the community watch." Simba had confidence in Elijah, but knew even he had to keep a good eye out for certain trouble makers. Nala made a good point about what might have happened if Simba had the boy imprisoned. Simba didn't make a habit of jailing others, but for those he did, there was never anything like a prison break in the community. That would certainly rattle things up. Simba smiled at Nala and took her hand. "I know you would do anything for us, as I would," he said. "But I also know that it would be the only reason that you would steal food. With this boy, I'm not sure. He might be trying to feed his family or he might have done it out of spite. I have a feeling I might know sooner than later."
Simba chuckled back about Kiara. "She is indeed OUR daughter," he said. "Which I guess might make me worry all the more. But she is a smart girl. She knows what to do in uneasy situations. I wouldn't have chose her to take over as Community Leader some day if she didn't."NALA SARAFINA PRIDE

Nala smiled. "Always best to be prepared. Even if I feel that what you are worried about is not going to happen I sitll agree we should be prepared for the worst." she said. She squeezed his hand when he took her hand in his.
"I know you are worried, and honestly I know you have reason to be worried. It's suspicious for sure and worrying but we can't just assume that he is a bad person from one encounter with him. I just don't want you to forget that everyone deserves a second chance." she said with a smile before kissing him.
She chuckled when he agreed that it was the fact that Kiara was there daughter that made him worry all the more. "Well, even if she is our daughter with getting into trouble, she is also our daughter in finding her way out of trouble. And even if she gets into trouble, we can help her out of it. But we have to let her be an adult, she is one after all, and we have to trust we raised her right." she said with a smile. "Okay?" she said looking him in the eyes.

Simba nodded about preparations. He was glad his wife wasn't as worried as he was though. He hated to ever see her stressed. She was usually in a positive mood, and that made Simba feel more positive. He held Nala's hand. "We've dealt with these sort of things before," he said. "We can deal with them again... together as always." He took her hand and kissed it. Nala was right. Everyone deserved a second chance, and the fact was that Simba was trying to give the boy one. It was just the dark cloud over the whole thing, that possibility that something bad was going to happen in all this. Simba didn't want to feel that, but it was in his stomach. And his gut feelings were rarely ever unjustified. "If he returns, until he does something that breaks our rules again, I'll give him a second chance," he said. "I'll even make my offer again." He then kissed Nala in return. Oh how those kisses made him feel better. Simba sighed about Kiara. He worried about her all the time. Of course he did. He was her father. But once again, Nala spoke with her words of wisdom. "I want to let her be an adult, but you know as well as I how hard it is to let her go," he said. "If anything, we need to sit and talk with her."NALA SARAFINA PRIDE
