"Oh thank you, sir!" The little girl squealed as she ran forward and brought Robin into a tight hug. Robin stood a bit surprised, but quickly responded by kneeling down and hugging her little body back. She had red hair, and a missing tooth, and green eyes. Her name was Ann. Her father and mother were older, and working as hard as they could to get their money, but things had gone sour when they both lost their jobs. At the moment, they were in the process of trying their best to get a new job, the eldest brother Darwin had left to get money from the lands outside of Wonderland, but that was a month ago, and there had been no word since.
Robin had decided to help the family, and grabbed a some items from a rich old man who was too rude to have a wife, and too bitter to care for children, which only let himself and his riches. So Robin took some jewelry, a coat, some antiques, and a painting sitting in the basement before selling it all, and giving it to Ann's family. It was a lot, and it was keep them on their feet for now. The father was trying to work as a guard for the Mayor to get Wonderland benefits, and the mother was currently trying to earn a spot at the village inn. But Robin knew if they didn't get the money, they would never get the job.
"Ann, it's time for bed, sweetheart." The little girl sighed sadly, kissing Robin's cheek before past their parents who stood in the doorway and into the small home. Robin stood up, and the woman sent a small smile to Robin, but it didn't reach her eyes. Pity laid in her eyes. "Robin, when will you sleep?" She was right, he was tired, and hungover, and the bags under his eyes began to physically way down on him.
But it was his own fault, he had avoided Helen and any subject of Helen for about a week or two, because he didn't know how to go back. He had been so vulnerable, and what if it was all a joke. What if she had plenty of lovers, and she merely wanted to make a joke out of him. She had the power to now. "Sleep, Robin." The father called in a gruff manner, bowing his head in respect before he and his wife walked into the house and shut the door. That was several hours ago, miles from where he was now. He stood in front of Helen's mansion, tired dark eyes looking up to the balcony that he knew lead to her room. It was explicitly late, and he expected her to be in bed, or if he was correct, pretending to be. Her brothers cars weren't in the driveway, and for a moment it angered Robin. What if someone broke in? Oh wait. But what if someone broke in who had actual bad intentions what if they hurt Helen? A scowl possessed his features, and Robin grew to hate the brothers. Some brothers they were. Moving past the empty driveway, Robin ran up the hill, and began scaling the wall that led to Helen. Pulling himself onto the balcony, Robin softly palmed the window open, a soft breeze sweeping into the warm room awaiting. Sliding through the window sill, Robin landed almost silently on his feet, beside the bed which held a breathtaking Helen Savage. Tag: HELEN KATRINA SAVAGE

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] JUST ESCAPE [attr="class","next"] “Do you have a light?” Helen held her cigarette forward as the man next to her in the bar flipped out a matchbook and struck one. She used her hand to cup the flame, breathing in through the cigarette as it caught fire. She wasn’t a smoking woman — in fact, she rather hated the whole thing. But “What do you think, pretty lady? Want me to take you home tonight? I’ve got the biggest—”Her hand was on his throat in a matter of a few seconds, turning his chin so she could look at him. “That’s no way to talk to a lady, is it, Mr. Smee?” Helen growled as she finally let go of him and turned to walk out. “Are you kidding me? You’re such a tease, Savage! You never put out for any of us! Don’t bother coming back to this place, the captain won’t have you any more!” He was still yelling something by the time she left the tavern. She didn’t care what any of them had to say about her. There was a pain in her chest — one she couldn’t quite understand. Helen wasn’t hurt by his words, she couldn’t be. She wasn't a woman who got hurt by people who meant nothing to her. But there was something nagging at her heartstrings. Helen didn’t stop moving until she got back to the house. She stayed on the front porch for a long time, her back pressed against the brick siding as she looked out over her lawn. Nothing had been the same since that night. Nothing had been the same since Robin. She wanted to hate him; she willed herself to hate him every moment of the day. But something stopped her. Helen’s eyes clouded as she walked inside. She went straight to her room — her brothers were at the Tavern like most nights. She settled on the bed: her eyes were on the window, expecting to see him appear about of thin air. But it had been weeks and her patience had worn thin. He wasn’t coming back. She dressed for bed and fell asleep quickly amongst the silk sheets as she did every night. She dreamed of falling — the same dream she had had for months. Her hands reaching out for something that was not there. Something to ground her and keep her from crashing into the ground below. Sleep didn’t last long — the draft that suddenly blew through her room woke her from her sleep. Helen’s eyes fluttered open, slowly at first. It was a slow gentle sort of awakening. She could see him — she knew she was dreaming, but she could see him. Backlit by the moonlight was her hero. The man who made her feel something she hadn’t allowed herself to feel in ages. Helen’s hand opened ever so slightly, “Robin.” She breathed into the night air before sleep claimed her again. When her eyes closed, she saw something different. A man in a hood who grabbed her wrist before it was too late.

"Robin." a low voice called out from within the bed. Robin turned slowly to see Helen resting in bed, eyes shut, her mouth stuck in a tight line, the small mole on the left corner of her mouth falling and rising as she breathed softly. Robin walked over, his finger tips lightly skimming the her sharp jawline. Even as she explored a world entirely too far away, she was beautiful. Pulling his hand away, Robin looked to evaluate the room. Not much had changed since the first night he broke in. It almost pleased him to know Helen hadn't changed since that night. Laying on the west wall was a door that Robin didn't remember going through. It could lead to anything. The worse case scenario would be that it connected to one of her brother's room. The best? A closet at most. Walking forward, Robin cautiously laid a hand on the dagger waiting in his belt, his other hand now holding the doorknob. Without wasting a second, Robin silently pulled the door open, and peaked inside. It was a bathroom, a big one. A breath of relief flooded through him, and his grip dropped from the dagger. The archer quickly walked into the bathroom, and shut the door behind him. It was all marble, and various fancy soaps and chemicals, he didn't expect anything less. It held both a shower, and a tub. Gold encrusted in almost everything that he saw. He almost thought he shouldn't touch anything because he'd leave a dirt print. He probably wasn't wrong. As Robin glanced around, an idea came to mind. A shower wouldn't be too bad. It'd be great actually. Robin grinned to himself as he began peeling off his clothes, and grabbed a random shower gel from the counter-something about Winter Frost-before heading into the shower. Yeah, he was definitely right. About twenty minutes later, with a clean body, and thankfully clean hair that actually looked brown and not black, Robin stepped out. Stretching his arms with a yawn, Robin grabbed a towel from the side, and tied it around his waist before grabbing another towel to dry off his hair. The shower had done a nice job of waking him up, maybe it had something to do with the pores or something. Drying off his feet on the fancy carpet, Robin tossed the towel for his hair onto his shoulder before exiting the bathroom. Tag: HELEN KATRINA SAVAGE

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] JUST ESCAPE [attr="class","next"] Helen was smiling in her sleep as she felt a strange tingle run down her jawline. Absentmindedly, she reached up to brush whatever was there, but it was nothing. She drifted into sleep again, dreaming of the hooded man and the strange falling. There was a strange sound that was in the back of back her mind. It sounded rather like an ocean. Helen’s mind wandered, taking her to the shores of the river in Wonderland where she saw him again. The sound was getting louder, piercing her very state of mind until she couldn’t take it any longer. Helen sat straight up in her bed, her light eyes staring at the door to her bathroom. She could hear the faucet running — the shower head, she thought. Someone was in her bathroom taking a shower. Surely her brothers wouldn’t have been in her room, would they? Her brow was furrowed as she continued to look at the door. And then the water cut off. Whoever it was had decided they had had quite enough of her shower. Funny thing, as it was hers and she resented them for ever exercising their own will over her bathroom. There was a pause and Helen reached into her bedside table, pulling out the knife that she kept there. She tucked it into her covers, just in case it was a dangerous hostile human that was hiding out in there. Just as she finished hiding it, the door opened and she found herself staring at a half naked — well, perhaps fully naked under that towel — Robin. Her heart gave an involuntary leap. “Robin—” She rubbed at her eyes, trying to make him go away. He was not standing in her bedroom in a towel. “ROBIN!” Helen’s voice now had an edge of anger. Who did he think he was coming into her room in the dead of night and taking a shower in her very master suite? She pulled up her silk sheets around her nightdress and glared at him from across the room. There was a part of her that couldn’t ignore the relief that was flooding her veins — the sort of feeling that she had wished for for weeks was back, as simple as his appearance in her house. “You have thirty seconds to explain what you are doing in my bathroom, Archie, before I’m calling for the WPA.” She snapped.

Well then, looks like Helen woke up. Robin rolled his eyes from across the room, as he walked to the dresser to gather some clothes. Maybe he could borrow something from the brothers? He wouldn't keep it, when he got home he'd wash it then sell it of course. Robin yawned once more, the weight of tonight's work weighing down on him a bit. "Don't act like you didn't want to see me, Helen." Archie said with his back turned to her. "And honestly Helen, I thought you were smart enough to know that the WPA really isn't a problem for me." The brunette added, pulling open a drawer to reveal some men clothes. Here we go. Shuffling through the layers, Robin grabbed an undergarment along with a loose pair of cotton shorts. Pulling on his bottoms from underneath his towel, Robin hopped around to face Helen. "Hope you don't mind this. I thought we deserve some time to talk, don't ya think?" Robin purposed, yanking off the towel since he now had on pants. Stretching his body once more, Robin combed through his now damp hair, before walking to the bed and laying back against the pillows. "Nice shower. It certainly has a lot of exciting options. I didn't think a shower needed more choices then just on and off. So credit to you, my dearest." Tag: HELEN KATRINA SAVAGE

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] JUST ESCAPE [attr="class","next"] “I don’t have to act,” Helen retaliated, her eyes watching as Robin went from drawer to drawer, obviously looking for something to dress himself in. He finally found something and slipped it on before ripping his towel from his body. She raised her eyebrows before pulling the knife from her sheets and slamming it onto the bedside table. At least now he would know that she wasn’t going to stab him the moment that he came any closer. “I don’t really do the whole talking thing. Apologies, if you got your hopes up.” She said, feigning indifference. She didn’t need to care about Robin and she certainly didn’t need to admit to him that she had some sort of strange feeling in her heart every time he came around. It was odd — and she didn’t have time for odd. He had the gall to get into her bed and Helen rolled her eyes, not bothering to move from the near center of the sheets. If he was going to lay there, he was going to do it on her terms. In fact, she didn’t bother to move at all, watching him with her hawk eyes as he seemed to get comfortable. “It’s certainly seen plenty of angles.” She mentioned, off-handed as she ran a hand through her blonde hair, trying to get it to lay flat. She was moderately self-conscious about having the strange man in her bed when she had just woken up. She turned over, not looking at him, but instead at the billowing curtains on the other side of the room. The world outside was dark, save for the moonlight. “There’s nothing to talk about, Mr. Hood.” She turned so she could see his reaction — she had done some checking up on him with a woman named Mary when reported him to the WPA. “I’ve done my homework, sweetheart. I wish you would get out of my bed. A king is made for one.” She muttered, stretching her limbs as she pushed him.

Robin's eyebrows arched as he watched Helen tuck the knife to the side before facing him. At least she had some sort of weapon, it pleased him to know she learned from her previous experiences of robbery. "If you say so, dearest." Robin murmured, sliding underneath the covers and lying on his side to face the blonde. He was getting far too comfortable, and if he was right, he wouldn't be leaving the bed till morning. For once he understood why the rich went out of their way for such luxurious things, this bed was amazing. But before Robin knew it, his image of this bed was ruined by Helen's last words. Robin's grin fell. "And what king did you have in here?" He tried to say sarcastically but it reminded him of something. Why would Helen have male clothes in her room, it was a big house, her brothers must have their own rooms. Robin looked down at himself with a frown. Robin had far too much pride to way another man's clothes, especially one who Helen had been playing around with. Robin tried his best to push back the overwhelming feeling of jealousy but it wasn't working. "Or should I say, kings?" Tag: HELEN KATRINA SAVAGE

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] JUST ESCAPE [attr="class","next"] Helen rolled over, placing her hand upon his chest as she looked up at him. Stereotypically, it would have been a very intimate way to hold one another, but for Robin and Helen, it was just another run on the mill encounter. Her hand rested delicately on his collar bone, softly running her fingertips against his skin as she looked up at him. “What are you doing here?” She finally asked, rather confused. She hadn’t seen him in weeks and he showed up all of a sudden out of the blue. Finding him now in her bed, with her body intertwined with his was perhaps even a more strange turn of events. And then Robin was off, causing her of having multiple men in her bed, which quite frankly she thought was preposterous. She hardly liked to bring them back here with the ruckus that her brothers always caused. “What business is it of yours who comes and goes from my bedroom?” She asked, her eyes searching his face for an explanation. Was it jealousy that she heard in his words? The last time she had had a man in her bed had been Atwell all those months ago. It hadn’t even meant anything — most of them were just distraction from the life that she was living. She needed someone who could make the pain go away from the night…but Robin…Robin seemed to make it go away whenever he was here. “You can’t honestly think that you’re going to stay here for the night, can you?” Helen asked, although she made no motion to move her body from his. She enjoyed the warmth of having someone else there. She enjoyed having Robin there, although she would never admit it out loud. “You sound…jealous. Are you jealous, Archie?” She asked, letting her eyes close ever so slightly as she lay upon his chest. It was a pleasant existence. “What’s there to be jealous of?”

"You haven't answered the question yet, Helen.." Robin drawled, shifting in the bed to find a comfortable spot before closing his eyes in content. "And by the way, I'll leave if your brothers get home. It's past 4 AM, I don't think they're coming back for a long time.." Robin mocked, a smirk gracing his features. He originally didn't have an excuse for getting in bed, but now he did, and he'd take anything he could get. The archer briefly wondered what it'd be like coming home to this every day. A big house, plenty of money, and beautiful wife. "You know, I don't even mind the fact you had other men in here, I just want to know who's clothes I'm wearing." The archer added with a small shrug, as he tucked his arms behind his head. "Maybe you stuff their body downstairs." He teased, the warmth of her touch unconsciously causing him to relax further into her touch. Although he would never say it, he didn't want Helen to hate him. He kind of didn't hate her. She wasn't evil, she was human. She had her ups and downs, but she was just surviving. And there was always more to life then just surviving. Tag: HELEN KATRINA SAVAGE

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] JUST ESCAPE [attr="class","next"] “Fine, stay.” Helen said as she closed her eyes ever so slightly. It was almost relaxing having him there in her bed. He filled the empty space in her bed — and seemingly the empty space that was in her chest cavity. No, she didn’t believe it to be anything more than attraction, but she would admit that she had never felt this way about anyone in her life. “But if you think for one second that I am enjoying this, you should think again.” She muttered, lifting her chin ever so slightly so she could look up at him. His words about storing bodies had her smirking. Of course he would think that about her — but alas, she hadn’t killed anyone that she remembered. Severely wounded, stolen from and exploited, yes. But murder? Never. “I have a whole collection of bodies in the basement and soon you’ll be added to the collection,” Helen said, still very much avoiding the topic of conversation, “I think you’ll make a good addition to the breaking and entering grouping,” The clothes he was currently wearing belonged to a Mr. Atwell Easter who had played a one-night-stand sort of role in the production that was her life. Of course, she hardly thought anything of her little one-night escapades, but she imagined that Robin would feel quite differently. She could hear his heart beat lulling into relaxation. As she adjusted herself in her bed, she rolled away from him, her body thankful for the momentary break from contact between them. Being so close to him made her head spin — it made her feel like she was floating in some sort of limbo. Her fingertips busied themselves with the hem of the silk sheets as she drew them back and forth between her hands. "Probably Easter's. He must have left them here after bible study." She said with an exaggerated sigh. The sarcasm was obvious and thick. "Curiosity killed the cat, Archie. I've warned you."

"Easter? Well I can understand why he's not in my position right now. I didn't think you liked the good guys." Robin commented, turning onto his side to face Helen. "What kind of guys are you into Helen? You have two brothers, and a wealthy name, why aren't you already married?" The archer questioned, an underlying meaning to his words. Robin didn't have a lot of experience with the dating life. He knew Mary since he was a child, and when they were teens they got together, then when they officially were adults they got married. Most people assumed Robin slept around, and he couldn't blame them: a handsome guy like himself had to be a prize in the dating community, but none the less most people were wrong. "And don't tell me you have a choice in who you want to be with, because I imagine having two brothers mean you have no freedom." Robin added, a small grimace forming as his words registered in his head. It was sad how women were treated in town sometimes. Robin never discriminated whether you were male, female, or anything else you preferred to be. But he was just one male, instead a town of well, assholes. So he didn't make much of a difference. [googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] JUST ESCAPE [attr="class","next"] “We all have the ability to make choices, sweetheart.” She said, her eyes clouding as she looked over at him. But in the end, he was right. Helen really didn’t have a choice. When one of the castle nobles, John, had decided to set his sights on her, she had had little choice on the matter. She was strong, but she wasn’t about to put her life on the line. John got what he wanted — Helen. Helen’s brothers got what they wanted — notoriety. And Helen? Well, Helen got the opportunity to marry one of the most eligible bachelors in Wonderland. The only problem was that she felt nothing for him. John was a whistle in the wind and Robin had become a hurricane. “I’m not married because I choose not to be married. At least for now.” Her eyes were on his, watching carefully for his reaction. “My brothers have it in their head that I’m going to marry that snobbish noble in the castle, John.” She said, pulling the sheets off of her frame as she stood and crossed to the window, closing it and drawing the drapes. The bedroom was plunged into near darkness, except for the strip of light that came from the bathroom. She, of course, chose to explain the situation further. If Robin wanted to know then she would let him know — but she had warned him against this multiple times. “ I guard in the castle. Caught his eye and you know how men love a woman who can hold their own.” She crawled back into bed, drawing her hand across his cheek. “I don’t want to be with him, if that’s what you’re asking.”Helen paused — the house was silent save for their breathing, “And you, Archie? Who do you want to be with? A guy like you’s got your pick of all the rich bitches in the world, right?”

The archer scoffed, and shook his head as he listened to her descibe John. Robin knew a John. But that was his partner, and he was 100% sure Helen wasn't John's type. So obviously this John had to be some Wonderland Prince. Another stuck-up male who thought the world spun for himself. Okay, that description sounded really familiar but Robin liked to think he wasn't that much of an asshole. "John doesn't sound like he's much fun." Robin mocked, as he leaned onto his hand, his fingers digging into his unruly hair. Robin's chuckles died down when she in return asked about his love life. He wished he could say he wasn't expecting it. He knew it'd come up eventually, and he knew that he'd have to reveal his demons soon enough. The archer wasn't nervous about talking about Mary, he was nervous about how Helen would react. Helen was not Mary. Helen was a completely different woman, a completely different feeling for him. He would never blur the lines between those two. But he had a sick feeling that Helen would assume the opposite, and whatever fragile bond they were creating would be destroyed. But Robin couldn't not tell Helen about Mary. He had to. "I was once married to a woman, her name was Mary." Robin said solemnly, his lips forming a small line, and his eyes falling to the sheets instead of Helen's waiting blue ones. He wanted to say more. He wanted to say that she was once the sun in Robin's dark hole of a heart, and when the sun had been ripped away all he was left with was his demons. He wanted to say he's been in the dark for so long that he was no longer afraid of what laid inside. He wanted to say Helen was a feeling of hope in him, not exactly light but a feeling of security. Of knowing and acceptance. Sometimes the feeling was calm, and comforting, and sometimes the feeling was rapid, and wild, and it took over his entire being till he felt like he could rule the world. He wanted to say Helen was his revival. His reason to live. But he couldn't. Because he didn't know how. "That's all." Tag: HELEN KATRINA SAVAGE

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] JUST ESCAPE [attr="class","next"] “I was married to a woman, her name was Mary. That’s all.”The silence was thick between them again. Labored. Helen wasn’t sure what to say. There were plenty of quick-witted things that she wanted to say. Perhaps that she had never been with a married man before, but she kept her mouth closed. There was a part of her that envied him. Marriage seemed a way to bring together a love that shouldn’t have been kept apart and he had found that. She couldn’t say that she had been granted that beautiful luxury. She hadn’t found the missing piece that seemed to make her world fall back into place… but some how, she wondered if it was what she felt for Robin. It was silly, to think a man she had just met could fix her, wasn't it? Wonderland had been a pit that had absorbed her — she had done things that she wasn’t proud of and she would continue doing them because that was what she thought she was supposed to do. Rourke, Easter, Hook, Smee, John. None of them made her feel quite the way that she felt in that moment. Robin had practically consumed her in fire. He burned her, but she couldn’t take her hand away from the fire. She so desperately wanted to know what it was that made him so irresistable. He had stolen her necklace, nearly stolen her furs, and quite frankly stolen what little was left of her rotten heart. “That’s all.” She repeated, drawing herself out of her thoughts as she leaned forward. There was the slightest apprehension in the back of her mind, telling her that she should not kiss a man who had just admitted to being married, but she ignored it. She pressed her lips to his and she was lost. She felt sparks somewhere in her body, the warmth spreading again. He was fire and she would let him burn her. She pulled away quickly, “That’s all.” She said, refusing to open her eyes for fear that he would disappear right before them if she did.

Robin's eyebrows furrowed in an upset manner towards her words. "Yes that's it because she left me because I-I'm not a good person." The archer said, with a small stutter, his heart beating so loudly that he was afraid Helen would hear it from her spot. Before this Robin could never get it through his head why Mary left him. He thought he knew Mary too well, and there was another reason. Even another man. But the longer he was alone, the more the truth dawned on him. The more he realized. But this was the first time he put it into words, that he told another soul something he could barely admit to himself. It made it real. Mary left him. She was gone. Robin wouldn't hate her, he couldn't. He just wished she would be happy with her life, he really did. Robin didn't want to waste energy on feeling guilty about something he couldn't change. It wasn't natural. Robin wanted to be released, he wanted to breathe again without the weight of his world on his chest. Before Robin could say something else, Helen's lips were against his and time froze. Remember the first time as a child when you went swimming. Not while learning to swim, just swimming. It would be hot, and the water was nice and cold, nothing uncomfortable and nothing too comfortable. It was perfect. You remember jumping head first in, the rush of the cold slipping into your veins, and the blue of world laying right in front of you. Then remember the feeling of coming up for air, the cold rush electrifying your body. That's what it felt like kissing Helen Savage. Robin remained still as she pulled away, his fingertips still burning from his position. She tasted like champagne, and she left a feeling sharper then any drink he ever had. Without wasting a second, Robin reached forward and brought his lips to hers again, then again, until he didn't feel like he was crashing anymore. He was flying. He was alive.
