[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] HIDE YOUR LOVE AWAY [attr="class","next"] Report it. That had been the mandate from the Savage boys. Strong and willing enough to defend themselves, they hated when someone messed with their little sister and that was exactly what this nightmarish archer had done. Of course, Helen wasn’t all that opposed to the whole thing, seeing as she had grown rather fond of her nightly visitor. But she knew appearances were everything. Walking into the WPA, she peeled off her sunglasses and stared at the receptionist with a blank look. It was a shame that everyone didn’t have the brains to anticipate what she was thinking. “I’m here for my meeting.” Helen said blandly as she approached the desk. The girl still looked confused and Hel wondered why they had bothered to hire someone that had the IQ of a rock. “About the break ins?” A few more seconds of silence practically made her want to pull her hair out of her head. Imbecile. “Oh the break-ins! Yes. Yes. We’ve got you with Agent Adams.” The girl said, gesturing down the hall. She gave her a little slip of paper that had office coordinates on it and Helen raised her eyebrows. She snatched it from the woman and began walking down the hallway, her eyes on the door at the end of the corridor. When she finally made it, Helen gave three sharp raps on the frame before she pushed it open and entered. There were no need for formalities when she was expected. “Rumor has it you’re the—“ Well that had certainly not been what she was expecting. The woman behind the desk was blonde, beautiful and had striking blue eyes. Certainly not the brash man she had been anticipating, “You’re the lucky cadet who’s got my case.” She finished as she walked in the room and threw her rather expensive looking bag into the chair next to the one she now occupied. She shrugged off her summer scarf and cast a wary look at the woman across from her. Pretty. Too pretty to be a WPA agent. Helen leaned in a little and read her name tag: Mary Adams. “I’m assuming you already know why I’m here.”

LOVE WILL LIVE, LOVE WILL LAST, love goes on and on and on. Mary Adams. That was the name that was plastered on her desk, the crisp papers and organized desk that she worked at. Well she usually just sat there, taking reports on anything that needed to be reported and then she dealt with them. Usually she was in the office for a bit and then went out into the field to investigate. There were very few females, close to none to be exact. Mary and Ellen, they seemed to be the best and the brightest member of the force. Sure Ellen was the direction of the WPA, but that didn’t mean she didn’t work like Mary did. The two seemed to get along quite well, if not close enough to be actual friends.
Today seemed to be one of those slow days in the office, one that only had her in one meeting with a person that wanted to report something. That something was supposedly about break-ins that had been happening in a young woman’s home. Of course hearing about this case, Mary was happy to take it on. She needed a distraction. Needed to forget about Robin and their messy divorce. Sure it wasn’t messy but to her it was. Of course her desk wasn’t helping. Everyone return to calling her Adams, Agent Adams except for the paperwork and her desk. This one thing, one little thing decided to haunt her with her decision.
‘Rumor has it you’re the–’
The voice trailed off as Mary turned around to face the new comer. A small smile appeared on her face at the look on the woman’s face. Most likely she wasn’t expecting her. The woman clearly finished her sentence saying that she was the lucky cadet that had gotten her case. Mary pointed to the seat “Please sit.” she said her tone sickly sweet. Of course she was having a horrible day and her tone of voice was suffering. But if the woman noticed, Mary made note that she didn’t say anything.
‘I’m assuming you already know why I’m here.’
Mary nodded her head quickly grabbing the paper on her desk, “Break ins. Miss Savage, is there anything that you can remember from these break-ins? It says here that you didn’t comment on anything about it…so why don’t you tell me everything you know. Was there anything stolen? Anything you can remember from these break-ins...any smells? Did anything look out of the ordinary?” she questioned her tone crisp and polite. She had a pen in her hand, perfectly manicured nails wrapped around the pen as she waited for the woman to tell her anything as she grabbed the file and a notebook. One that had the name…her former name, upon the top of the crisp paper.
Mary Hood.

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] HIDE YOUR LOVE AWAY [attr="class","next"] Helen had to admit that her surprise should have been unwarranted. She, after all, was in a similar position to Ms. Adams. She was a woman working in the man’s world — the guard hadn’t been designed for ladies, at least, not in Wonderland. She offered her the seat in front of her desk and immediately the lavish woman sat down. Her furs fell slightly from her shoulders as she scrutinized the woman behind the desk. She was beautiful — blonde, blue eyed, a woman who looked like she could be both delicate and stern at the same time. Helen wondered if they had given her her case on purpose. "Nice to meet you, Mary." Just the same as she raised her eyebrows, the woman quickly grabbed a pen and paper and began jotting a few things down. She knew of the situation, obviously she had been briefed. Then the questions began firing. Helen moved the chair forward ever so slightly as she contemplated the answers to such questions. It wasn’t as if she didn’t want to answer. She wanted her own answers, but she did not want the break-ins to stop. In fact, she had as of late, taken to leaving her windows unlatched in hopes that her little visitor would return. But that was simply wishful thinking, as she hadn’t seen him for a few weeks now. “I can remember quite a few things.” She mused, looking down at her fingernails as she held them up to the light. She was in desperate need of a manicure. Castle work could get so…tedious. “I was coming home from the tavern the other night when out of the blue, there’s this man in my house. Tall, dark, handsome, leather-clad—” She feigned disinterest, keeping her story practically monotone as she spoke. “He tries to steal my furs, but of course, I apprehended him and he managed to sneak off with my locket. It was a gift, from..someone. Has his picture in it.” She tapped Mary’s paper as she made certain the woman noted that detail. “It happened again a few nights later. Same guy, this time in my living room. He accosted me.” Well, that part was a lie. From her memory, she drew up that night. The feeling of his breath against her lips — the almost kiss. Her cheeks flushed, but she could always chalk that up to anger. “He came in my house, ate my food and drank my wine. He’s a menace, cadet. Spouting something about taking from the damn rich and giving to the poor like he was some vigilante or something. Where’s he get off?” That was very important, she reminded herself. "And those arrows! He's broken at least three lights in my house with those arrows!"

LOVE WILL LIVE, LOVE WILL LAST, love goes on and on and on. Mary listened to the woman, taking notes as the woman told her everything that happened, from the description of the thief, to the act and what she did to protect her things and herself. Mary was slightly scared that what Helen was describing would be her husband, she was terrified and as she wrote down that the man was tall, dark, handsome and leather-clad, Mary thought that she was wrong. This wasn’t robin. From what Mary remembered the man had never wore leather in his life, at least not ever clad in the material. Her perfect script handwriting flew over the page as the woman told her story, telling her that this theft happened not once but twice. She frowned slightly as the woman flushed a shade of pink, as if remembering something from these break-ins. And before she could speak, something she said had Mary freeze, pen hovering over paper.
‘Spouting something about taking from the damn rich and giving to the poor like he was some vigilant or something.’
She swallowed, “He told you that he took from the rich to give to the poor?” she asked very slowly. Her finger playing with the wedding band on her finger, it was a habit that she had when Robin was talked about in her presence or when she was stressed. But she wasn’t stressed, but Robin was surely this man that the woman was talking about. She had yet to take the wedding band off, and they had been divorced for a while now, surely he had taken his off, probably threw it into the pool of tears as soon as the papers were signed and she was no longer bound to him as a wife.
‘And those arrows! He has broken at least three lights in my house with those arrows!’
Mary tilted her head “You wouldn’t happen to have these arrows would you? They are evidence that could surely be used to bring the thief in. and give you some peace.” said Mary as calmly as she could but on the inside she was worried. Would this be when she brings her husband…her ex-husband in and arrest him? “Oh Robin.” she muttered lowly to herself, praying that Helen didn’t hear her.

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] HIDE YOUR LOVE AWAY [attr="class","next"] Helen stopped mid-sentence to look at the woman who had stopped writing to question what she had just said. Had she said too much? Said too little? She raised her eyebrows, expecting Mary Adams to continue writing, but she did not. Instead, she was staring at Helen as if she had just struck some sort of chord in a manic drama. “Yes?” She pulled the fur stoles around her shoulders as she practically rolled her eyes. “Keep up, cadet. He said he steals from the rich and gives to the poor.” The repetition was growing tedious for Helen who rarely liked to discuss anything other than military strategy for any period at length. “Do you know who he is?” Helen asked, raising her eyebrows as she looked across the desk at the woman. Something about this exchange seemed odd. Mary asked for the arrows and Hel held up her hand to silence her momentarily. Reaching into the purse that she brought, she drew one of the arrows — the one that had smashed her bedroom lamp a few nights ago. Using one of her handkerchiefs to maneuver it, she placed it on the desk in front of the blonde woman. “There. There’s three more at my house if you’re interested.” They didn’t look like anything special to her — just as homemade arrows were supposed to look, but perhaps Mary could give her more insight. “Peace is all I’m really after. I can’t keep worrying that this idiot is going to break in and try to steal my furs again.” That was when she heard the woman muttering under her breath. “Robin?” She raised her eyebrows immediately. “So you do know him.” Now she was curious. If the archer wasn’t going to give her his name, she could get it other places. This Mary seemed to know a bit about him, judging by the way that she continuously shifted in her chair every time she said another word about the situation. By the end of this, she would probably have dear old Robin’s full name and street address. Perhaps Helen would send him a post card from her mansion because that was as close as he would be getting to it.

love goes on and on and on. ‘Yes? Keep up, cadet. He said he steals from the rich and gives to the poor.’Mary was keeping up, oh how she was keeping up, but she wasn’t about to tell this woman off. No. this woman was rich and she most likely could get her fired with a snap of her pretty little fingers just for her telling her off. And Mary wasn’t that type of person, never had she been. Well at least from what she remembered she wasn’t like that. But then the woman asked the million dollar question. Does she know him? Of course she knows him, she wanted to be wrong but she wasn’t. Robin would never change and now…now she would be the one to bring her ex-husband in. that is if she got proof that it was actually him. But her heart and mind told her she was right. She didn’t answer the woman’s question and she didn’t have to because the woman was removing one of the arrows from her bag and moving it towards her. She reached into her desk, grabbing a glove and putting it on, before she grasped the arrow and looked at it. It looked like one of his arrows. ‘There’s three more at my house if you’re interested. Peace is all I’m really after. I can’t keep worrying that this idiot is going to break in and try to steal my furs again.’Mary nodded her head, slowly putting the arrow back onto her desk “I understand, and I promise I will do everything in my power to make sure you get the peace that you deserve.” she said with a nod of her head. But then his name slipped from her mouth and before she could get it back the woman already heard it. She knew now that Mary in fact knew of this man…and there was no way that Mary could talk her way out of this one. She nodded her head slowly and hesitantly before she spoke “Yes, regrettably I do know this man. Well at least I believe this is the man that has been stealing from you.” she said quickly. Though she said she regretted knowing Robin, she didn’t. He was the love of her life…he still is. TEMPLATE BY MINNIE OF GANGNAM STYLE
