or should i just keep chasing pavements There wasn't any sort of rhyme or reason for why Ellie wanted to go to the summer festival except for the fact that everyone else who'd ended up in Wonderland was going. Ellie felt like she needed to go, even if it was just to have a good time for that was what the festival was intended. She had a slight alternative motive in that she wanted to make some friends, because being lonely in an unfamiliar place wasn't exactly fun, but other than that she really was just looking for a good time. The fact that she had this longing for someone else, like someone was missing from her, was another part of it, but it was a part deep within her soul that she couldn't seem to figure out. Was she married in a previous life? Or just connected to someone deeply? She felt this hole in her heart that shouldn't be, but was, and she wanted to fill it, but not with just anyone - with that person whom she missed.
Problem was, of course, that she didn't know who that was. And so, with the debating of her past life behind her, Ellie set off towards the fields in a red and white collared dress, with an apple pie in her hand, hoping that the evening of fun and laughter might take her mind off of the gaping hole within. A smile spread across her features as she stopped at the edge of the fields, peering in at the scene before her. There were wildly-colorful tents which were sure to have many things inside, including games and food, and there were people walking around, laughing with each other and at people who were having trouble with the games outside of the tents. Ellie giggled and then quickened her pace, walking through the tall grasses to reach the 'registration' table. She turned in her pie and took a name tag, then began to search out something to do to occupy her time.
Ellie was quite unfortunate in that she didn't have a friend to come to the festival with, but she opened this festival would change that. She'd practically cooped herself up in the garden being a florist during the past two months and ignored the aching feeling for outside contact, but now was the time, she'd decided, that she break from her shell of fear and just befriend people. Ellie loved people and company, but she could be out there, sarcastic, and a bit wild for people to accept. And what with everyone being so on guard and alert of what was going on around them, Ellie was scared she would frighten people away. She didn't want to not be herself, but she wasn't sure if herself would be enough. Sighing, she approached a little game with ducks floating around in water, and decided the worst that could happen is she pick an unlucky duck. She smiled - the ducks were so cute - and picked one up to find that she'd won a little prize! Ellie squealed and grabbed the arm of the person next to her, then immediately dropped it and bit her lip. "Sorry about that! I just get excited!"

Everest wasn't planning on attending the festival at all, actually, but she had to get a book in town. She was distracted on the way, however, by all the many things there were to do around there. So, she just happened to stop and eye a little ducky game just for a moment before she was grabbed by the person beside her. She looked over with wide eyes but quickly smiled, the woman was clearly not trying to harm her. She was just excited about the duck and her prize, it seemed. "Understandable. It's natural to want to share excitement with those around you. What did you get?" Eve asked with a big encouraging smile for the redhead. Eve wasn't unfriendly, not by any means, but she could often come across as pretentious and uptight. Not to mention she was so full of scientific terms that people often had a difficult time understanding what she was trying to say. It was difficult for her to simply, at times, but she did her best when she had to. it was a lot more simple to stay simple if the topic of conversation was simple. Simple as that. or should i just keep chasing pavements Ellie was incredibly glad that the girl beside her didn't seem to mind much that she'd grabbed her arm. That was much appreciated, especially since who knows what would have happened if Ellie had been yelled at. She tended to retreat into a dark place in her mind when things went bad. She wasn't sure why, she just knew she didn't like that place at all. It contained horrible thoughts and what seemed like not-so-distant nightmares. It was dark and cruel and filled with emotions that Ellie would rather much not feel at all, and so the fact that the girl beside her smiled so encouragingly made Ellie grin even wider.
"It's a little pin!" she squealed, dropping the duck back into the water and taking the pin from the vendor. It was purple with a little bottle on it. Perfect. Ellie grinned and pinned it to her dress, and then looked back at the girl, giggling. "I'm Ellie, by the way - what's your name?" she asked, titling her head to the side. She was very much like a little kid, a little untamed and unconventional, but Ellie was surely the fiercest friend you could ever have, and she was definitely someone to have fun with.

Eve smiled and briefly surveyed the pin as the woman placed it in her dress. She nodded once with approval before making eye contact as the girl introduced herself. "I'm Everest. But you can call me Eve," she said, gesturing to the fair around them. "Pretty spectacular, isn't it? Losing all our memories and yet we throw a party," Eve shrugged with a smile, "Although, I can't deny that it's been a good idea. Have you made a lot of new friends thus far?" She asked, slowly stepping away from the game of ducks. She didn't want to block it for anyone else coming by.
Eve wasn't entirely torn up about the memories, to be honest. She liked her job and Wonderland had a lot of amazing plants for her to survey and plenty of other things to research. What else could she possibly want? She felt comfortable there, like her lab was the clearest choice of a home for her. She hadn't been to caught up in retrieving her memories. In fact, a part in her didn't want to. She was content.

or should i just keep chasing pavements "It's nice to meet you, Eve!" Ellie squealed, very pleased with herself of having won the pin and what seemed to be a new friend. She giggled, covering her mouth, but nodding all the same. "It is a bit strange, but it's also fun! I'm sort of glad actually, too - it's been a good way to keep my mind off things," she said, nodding. When Eve asked if she'd made many friends, Ellie shrugged. She didn't want to seem pathetic, but really she was. "Well I don't really make friends too easily," Ellie said, shrugging again before shifting her eyes to the ground.
"Have you?" she asked, before her eyes lit up. "Oh look, bobbing for apples! Want to try?" Ellie beamed, grinning at Eve. Ellie was a little firecracker, her mind switching targets and her thoughts exploding as the ideas rolled and tumbled from her brain to her mouth. She found it hard to contain her excitement and giggly, little-girl nature, but she just found everything new so tempting and it gave her new ideas and inspiration. She was quite the little creative one, really, but her wildness and oftentimes crazy demeanor put off some people. She just hoped Eve wouldn't be one of those people.

The upbeat nature coming from Ellie made Eve smile even wider. Eve wasn't really going around trying to make new friends in this place, but every time she did she was glad to have come out of her shell. She enjoyed the new acquaintances, and often tried to convince herself to get more people in her circle. Pongo would help her with that if she asked him, she was sure. She added that to her list of things to talk to him about. Eve nodded in understanding as Ellie explained not making friends too easily, but was suddenly suggesting going bobbing for apples. Eve nodded, "bobbing for apples... could be fun," she said before gesturing toward the game, allowed Ellie to lead as she answered the previous question. "I'm not that apt at making new friends either, Ellie. Today I've met one other person besides yourself that I've really had a conversation with... well, I'm a bit of a shut in," she chuckled, even though it was entirely true. ELLIE BEATRICE SLOANE
