Buddy enjoyed this area because one, it was quiet and two, it held his wildest dreams. He would often pace through the hall if he wasn’t standing directly in front of a door. He was drawn to one door. It was forbidden to be opened. One man had died at such an attempt He felt as though all he could do was put his hand on the doorknob and open and all of his questions would be answered. He would know everything, even his precious memories. Maybe he would find out why this had happened in the first place. Something was pulling at him.
He had to turn away from the door before it wrecked him. He paced away, moving several feet down. He should get back to the village or more likely, back to the woods. If he got his mind on something else, perhaps his tools, then this gnawing feeling would leave him. Something felt different about these halls today. He could feel someone nearby. Annoyance marked his eyes. He understood that this was a public place and that anyone could come here if they so wanted, but he had made this his sanctuary. No one else in this pitiful world had the brains to really do anything about the doors. What use could being there serve them?
Maybe he should put up a sign. DO NOT ENTER written in black marker over the walls would be sufficient enough he supposed. He would definitely need such a sign if he did make a breakthrough with the doors. Buddy stood near the door that plagued him, wondering if he could get out without having to talk to anyone. He wondered if before he lost his memories if he was the same sort of cynical man he was today. If so, what made him this way?

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] LOOK NOW, DON'T TOUCH [attr="class","next"]The door perplexed her. Beyond all rhyme or reason, it bothered her when she looked at it. Tania felt like she should remember something about it. She needed to remember something about it. Sometimes she would sit there for hours, losing track of the time as it trickled by. Who was she other than what she was now? Who had she been before that? Who was she supposed to be? Tania folded her arms across her chest as she pressed fingertips into the cotton of her shirt. She walked behind it and still nothing. It was like an optical illusion. A door that went no where but had to go everywhere. Why couldn’t she remember? She wanted to reach out and touch it, but the dark haired woman kept her hands concretely glued to her side for fear that she might end up like the poor soul a few months back. She would rather live, she thought. Tania bit down on her lip as she peeked out from the other side and caught sight of a mop of red hair. It wasn’t something that she recognized very well from the village. She had seen him before, however, not extensively. He was a bit of a recluse. Tan was almost surprised that they hadn’t run into each other here before. She slipped out from the back side of the door and brushed a piece of her hair behind her ear as she watched him. Should she say anything at all? Should she just let him be? She stood there, carefully observing him before her instinct got the best of her. “Hello?” Tania walked toward him, trying to get a read on what exactly it was that he was doing. Was he stuck? Had he frozen? What a silly thought! She found herself smiling cheerfully, despite the rather sour look on his face. It was almost as if she was ignoring the social context clues of the situation entirely; Tania could be oblivious of things like that some times. She wasn’t sure that she had ever heard him say a word — perhaps he was a mute, “You alright there?”

He saw the woman eventually, healthy curiosity getting the better of him. She was a pretty female (as most were, he had not met a woman that had not peaked his interest at least for the moment) with pale skin that seemed devoid of imperfections. His own on the other hand was covered with freckles, adding several shades of color to his complexion. After taking her in, he was bored and he went to leave and yet she decided to take it upon herself to talk to him. He sighed, a roll of his eyes accompanying him as he turned to look at her.
“I was alright,” Buddy said, his tone snide. He crossed his arms, putting up his guard. “I was working. But now I’m not.” He was going to make a rude comment about her parentage when he decided to keep it to himself. It wasn’t her fault that she caught him after his bout of frustration. She must do this to everyone, talk to random strangers, and he was no exception. Now he was faced with two choices, stay with this dreadful conversation or go home. Buddy was leaning more on the edge of going home to nurse the migraine that was creeping behind his temple. Then again, a pretty girl was talking to him. Not that he had a problem with pretty girls, especially ones with slender waists and cute mouths. Oh she would have to turn around so he could see if her ass was anything to write home about...
He decided that playing along with her was not worth the effort and he turned away from her to leave without saying “goodbye” or “good day” or “nice to meet you”. He was still indecisive as he made these steps. He wondered how far he could get with this girl in an afternoon. Well it depended on the type of girl she was, wouldn’t it? And how would he know that if he didn’t speak to her?

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] LOOK NOW, DON'T TOUCH [attr="class","next"]He hesitated before he turned to look at her and Tania was faced with the very stark realization that she had no idea what she was getting herself in to. She had no idea of the man’s temperament or nature or life. And then he turned and she found herself instantly intrigued. The freckles on his face, the way his hair sat on top of his head… he was handsome in an unconventional way. The sort of way that she couldn’t quite figure out. Tania wondered if she should say something else, but as the thought crossed her mind, he spoke. His tone caught her off guard and the smile that she had been wearing slowly slipped from her lips, leaving her with a neutral expression devoid of her normal buoyancy. Perhaps she should have just left him to be on his own, after all. He was awful! She opened and closed her mouth a few times before she held up her finger, coming upon something that she felt they had in common, “I hope I didn’t disturb you! What were you working on? The door’s just so…weird…. Right?” She turned around to look up at it, but by the time that she looked back at him, he had turned around and began walking away. Tania’s eyes were wide. How rude could he be?! She wondered as she folded her arms back across her chest. She was in no mood to deal with someone who obviously had no intention of speaking with her. She was going to stay — Tania was under no circumstances going to go walking after him. She wasn’t going to do it. No matter how much he had irked her, she wasn’t going to tell him off. “Excuse me—” Well so much for that. The angry words had practically propelled themselves out of her mouth. She followed after him, noticing that his stride was slow, so it was easy for her to catch up to him and match pace. She found herself walking next to him, “Normal people don’t walk away in the middle of a conversation, you know.” Tania muttered, not able to keep the distain out of her voice.

Oh there she goes. She’s trying to start a conversation with him. Buddy turned to look at the girl, stopping in his tracks. He raised his eyebrows as she pointed out his poor social choices. “I’m not normal,” He said plainly. He knew he was different. He knew that he was a loner and that people were not useful in the long run. He had woken up in an unfamiliar place and while some people had their family and friends to guide them along the way, he was alone. He had no one and why should that change? “I shouldn’t stay here for much longer. The door frustrates me…” He said, moving his fingers through his hair that could never be tamed for more than a few moments. His hair could jump up within moments of leaving the house, standing up as though to rebel against the laws of gravity.
He continued to walk and she followed, not taking the obvious hint that he wanted nothing to do with her. He shook his head before he asked, “Do you usually talk to strangers? I hear that it’s not a safe thing to do. I could be a serial killer for all you know.” It wasn’t helpful that he had such a sharp gaze and sinister laugh. He might as well write “mass murderer” on his forehead. Maybe he was one before he lost his memory. He wished that he knew.
“Lovely weather, isn’t it?” He asked, deciding to indulge her. Especially sense he overthought his migraine. It was a light thumping now and he could handle decent conversation. He had nothing better to do that breathe in fresh air and speak to this woman that he couldn’t shake off. The door was behind him and now his attention was elsewhere. “I’m working on a way through that door to see what’s on the other side. It could hold the reason we are here.”

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] LOOK NOW, DON'T TOUCH [attr="class","next"] “None of us are normal,” Tania said before she could stop herself. She had a tendency to blurt out words with no hesitation. One day, she swore, she would learn how to control herself. Tania reached up and brushed some of her hair away from her face at the precise moment that the man seemed to be trying to flatten his own unruly hair down. She then proceeded to wrap her arms around her body, as if she were cold, despite the fact that it was still quite warm. Something about him gave her an unsettling feeling in the pit of her stomach and she wondered if she had known him before…well, before. “Do you usually talk to strangers? I hear that it’s not a safe thing to do. I could be a serial killer for all you know.”“What?” She stopped in her tracks, looking at him as he continued to walk, that haunting gaze still piercing her memory and that laugh…She shivered and shook her head. It was probably nothing. He was just trying to scare her. He was just one of those kind of guys. She had the strangest yearning to punch him in the face. “Lovely weather, isn’t it?”“What are you?” Tania asked as she resumed her walking, this time a few paces behind him. She shouldn’t test her limits — she knew she shouldn’t test his either. She didn’t even know his name…she only knew that he was the strange reclusive man that lived on the outskirts of town and hardly left his little home. Perhaps that was the reason that she continued to walk with him; the mystery about it all was enough to intrigue her, “Well of course it holds the reason we’re all here. They wouldn’t just throw a random door that incinerates people in the forest for no reason.” She realized that her tone was slightly sharper than she had intended and held her up chin, almost definably at the man, “The weather's fine." She muttered, shuffling her feet as she caught up to him again. “I’m Tania. The nurse in the village,” She hesitated, unsure if she should proceed or if she should realistically run in the other direction. There was something about him — something misunderstood that she wanted so badly to figure out. What had made him this way? If only they could remember. If only she could remember who she was supposed to be, then maybe the world would make sense, “Look, all I’m saying is if you try and open that door, there’s probably not enough medical attention in the world that could help you. It kills people.”

He gave a snorting laugh at her words, wondering if she realized she had trapped herself in a paradox. “If normal people don’t leave in the middle of conversations, yet there are no normal people, then how might you suggest I have acted?” He questioned, the ghost of a smirk on his lips. He knew that he had a big mouth, figuratively and literally, and he somewhat enjoyed being able to use it in a pleasant way. He looked at her as she wrapped her arms around her body and commented, “You’re right. It’s too cold. I wish I was on an island somewhere with lots of sand and trees and sun.” This forest-like terrain did nothing for him and he hoped that this wasn’t a place where it snowed. He hated cold weather.
Buddy laughed, a full laugh not a short condescending one, as she questioned his serial killer quip. “It’s a joke. I’m not a serial killer…as far as I know,” He said. Oh she was a funny one. He would have to keep her around for a bit longer. She was a good break. Buddy stopped as she stopped and took the opportunity for himself to circle around her. He had already spooked her with his comment, might as well go big or go home. As he looked over the full package (enjoying the view), he ended the circle and continued to walk with her behind him.
“I’m not a what. I’m a human. Rude,” He said, turning his head back at her. He looked forward and decided that shaking her off was no longer an option and that he should just accept his fate. He stood still and turned around to look at her. “Well I seem to be the only one that decided to seek out a solution. Everyone else seems wrapped up into their own problems. While they’re doing that, I am going to find a way through that door and I’ll be a big hero.” There was sarcasm dripping off his tongue, coloring his little speech. Sure he would find a way through the door, but what he would do after would be less than heroic.
“Is that supposed to impress me?” Buddy asked, coldly at her words that she was a nurse. “Anyone can do that. I can take care of myself and so should everyone here. Besides, I wouldn’t open the door. I would need test subjects first if I can ever get past the planning stage. Simple girl." He supposed that his own introduction was in order, "You can call me Buddy." TANIA ODESSA PAMYAT

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] LOOK NOW, DON'T TOUCH [attr="class","next"] “I only meant that—” She felt her cheeks growing red, but she tried not to let it show. She unwound her hands from their crossed position and pressed her cool fingertips to her cheeks, trying to get the inflamed skin to stop burning. Tania found herself nodding along with what he was saying. She agreed with him, at least on this. An island with lots of water, maybe a water fall? She found herself smiling at the very thought. The woods weren’t awful, just not her cup of tea. She would have preferred something much more…east-indies in nature. Smugness settled as her expression — it felt like an accomplishment to remember something that she liked, “Hardly room for any sort of escape on an island. You’d be practically on top of everyone else.” She figured he wouldn’t like that, especially with the reclusive aura that seemed to emirate from him. She wasn’t sure what to say. Was he laughing at her? Tania wondered if maybe she should have been more frightened. And then he told her it was a joke and she found that she smiled ever so slightly. Was there something enchanting about the way that he was? So wound up in his own little world, so incredible dangerous seeming and yet…Tania couldn’t walk away. She had quite literally followed him well past the door and back into the woods. He began circling her and she raised her eyebrows, “See something you like?” She rolled her eyes as “Me rude?” Tania wanted to punch him — she wanted to, she was going to. Tania found that her fist was clenched into a tight ball, but she immediately let it go, “You’re rude.” She dropped her voice so it was nothing more than a whisper in the wind. If he wanted to be some sort of big hero, he was going to need to act a lot better than he was now, Tania thought to herself as she lifted her hand to catch some of the wind that rippled through the passing. It slipped through her fingers. It was a shame she couldn’t catch air — it was like trying to catch her memories; it somehow always eluded her. Seriously? Tania grabbed his hand, stopping him from walking any further. She leaned down and picked up one of the overgrown rose bush branches and broke it off before scraping it hard against his palm, leaving a trail of blood. She looked up at him. Buddy — the name was committed to her memory, “Being a nurse is an art. You’ve got to know how to work with babies like you.” She said raising her eyebrow as she ripped a little of the bottom of her shirt off and began to dab the blood, trying to prove her point, “You have to be gentle and firm, and trust me — not everyone’s capable of that.” She dabbed a few more times before she began to wrap his hand. She wasn’t just some little girl who needed to be talked down to, she would show him. “How’re you going to get people to volunteer for that, Simple boy?”
NOTES tania was going to punch him to prove her point but I opted for something more tame XD Hope that's alright [newclass=.next::-webkit-scrollbar]width: 5px;[/newclass][newclass=.next::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background: #000;[/newclass]

He wondered why there was now a blush on her cheeks. She couldn’t be hot because she had just wrapped her arms around herself like she was cold. Women were odd. He thought about the island that he had in his fantasies and he was pleased that he met someone that had the same sentiment that he had in regards to a change of climate. “It’ll be my personal island. No one would be there of course. Only the people I want will be there. Waterfalls, birds of paradise, constant sunshine. Why would I share that with the people here?” He smirked as he thought about the private lair that he wanted as his own.
Buddy had been in this realm for two months and he had yet to have anyone smile at him. But she did. It was unexpected and he wasn’t sure what to do with it. He was speechless and he merely looked away, pretending not to acknowledge it. He knew that he could not circle her and it go unnoticed. “It’s nice. I wouldn’t put it in any contest. And you should show your legs. They don’t look like they would have much muscle tone but skin is skin,” He leered, holding back that he actually thought she was quite the piece. Every woman here seemed to have such a fairybook boring look about them. No one had a spark of individuality. She looked different and he wondered if she would feel different. It wasn’t like he had anyone to compare her to.
“Of course I’m rude. I don’t know you. I don’t have any reason to be polite with you. I was minding my own business, doing absolutely nothing to you when you interrupted my day,” He pointed out to her. But his voice had lost his annoyance with her and he had gotten used to her company. He wouldn’t be unhappy if she continued to walk with him. He suddenly felt her hand grabbing his and he jumped at the sudden interaction. He turned to her and before he could even say anything, Tania had ran a rose thorn along the palm of his hand. The sting was all he thought of as he tried to snatch his hand back.
“What the hell?! That hurt!” He said, his cold voice now replaced with a high pitched whine. He watched as she dabbed the blood, her grip around his hand tight enough that she must be cutting off his circulation, therefore how could he still be bleeding? He looked away from the blood for a moment. The blood was not bothering him, it was the girl. He didn’t want to look at her right now. She was a “tolerable person” and he had a very short list of those people. Now she was a “wretched girl that needed to get away from him”.. But as she wrapped his wound, he was distracted by her question. He snapped at her, still not happy with what she had done to him. “They wouldn’t volunteer for it. I would have to make them or trick them. Sacrifices have to be made if we want to get out of these place and back to where we belong.”

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] LOOK NOW, DON'T TOUCH [attr="class","next"]Slightly miffed and offended, she started avoiding looking at him when he told her that she shouldn’t bother to put herself in any contest. It wasn’t that she had planned on it…it was the mere fact that he had the gall to tell her something like that. At least he was straight forward, she thought as she finally looked at him again, “My legs.” She repeated, almost thinking that she had heard him wrong. But he was looking at them in her jeans and she felt the sting of the blush on her cheeks yet again. Guys had looked at her before, right? Had she ever actually noticed? Tania wondered if this was what it was like to be considered the ‘pretty girl.’ He didn’t entirely seem as angry as he had been at the beginning of it all and Tania actually found herself smiling again as they walked through the forest path. She reached up and pressed her fingertip to her lips, trying to hide the smile. She wasn’t supposed to be amused by him. He was bad news, she reminded herself, “ Careful, it sounds like I’m starting to grow on you.” She said, her voice dripping with the normal amount of sarcasm. “Don’t whine. I've seen kids take pain better than you, Buddy,” Tania said as she tied the thin strip around his hand and then tightened it into a knot. She held onto it for a bit longer before her eyes met his. He was strange — not like the other people that she had met already in Wonderland. She wasn’t sure if she liked being around him or if she simply enjoyed the fact that he challenged her. He didn’t just let her say whatever it was that she was thinking — no, she had to actually think about it. Morally, what he was saying was wrong. Everything about her moral compass should have pointed her in the opposite direction, but Tania’s mind momentarily played with the idea of retrieving her memories from the other side of that door…no matter what the cost. Could she live with someone else’s blood on her hands? Looking down and seeing the red tinge of Buddy’s blood on her own fingertips, she wondered if it was even a possibility for her. She wanted so badly to know what was locked away in her memories. She wanted to know who she was…she wanted to know who they all were, “So you’ll tell them ‘here try this knob here even though some guy got blown up a few months back?’” She raised her eyebrows as her attention came back to his eyes. Green eyes with little specks of brown and gold, and freckles, a pair of lips that looked soft, but a mouth that had a mind complete in and of its own. Buddy had momentarily become that guy that spat out what he was thinking, something that Tania herself did on the regular. There wasn’t anything to smile about, but here she was, grinning at him like a fool. For some reason, she had thought that she had proved something to him — perhaps that she wasn’t just some disposable woman who he could treat like trash, “Seems like a crap plan to me.” She shrugged and finally let go of his hand. A sort of emptiness settled in the pit of her stomach — she hadn’t been aware that the human contact had actually felt nice.

“Yes, legs. Long things that help you walk,” He said, making no attempt to hide the way his eyes traveled up her legs to her butt. The jeans could be tighter but other than that it was a nice little sight for him. And he was pleased with himself that he was getting away with what he was doing. She looked flustered under his scrutiny and there was a strange sense of pleasure that he had made her that way. Oh to think that he had almost walked away from her and missed out on this amusing interaction.
“Please don’t flatter yourself. I’m merely an unwilling victim to your social needs,” He said with the same amount of sarcasm. Buddy had done nothing. He had planned on going home. She had started this, anything that happened after was her fault. And he was not going to let her get the better of him. Though if this Tania ever crossed paths with him again, he would not turn around and go in the opposite direction.
“Then I would worry about those children because they obviously don’t understand what hurt is,” Buddy commented as he winced at the way the strip tightened around his hand. He looked at her eyes realizing she was looking at him. The look in her eyes intrigued him. Her dark eyes held a curiosity that matched his own. “I should tell your patients that you do things like this, deliberating injuring people. I bet that there is poison in that flower. You can’t tell with these strange plants around here.” He said, not sending her away as he kept walking.
She was picking at his plans and he was annoyed. She had no expertise. He knew that he was smart. Maybe one day he would show her the inventions he had already come up with and she would see that she was out of her realm. “I would put it more eloquently than that. And I would have plans by then. This is something that will be months from now. I have to-“ He turned to glare at her, stopping himself, “I’m not telling you my blueprints.” He needed this though, his ideas to be looked at with fresh eyes that weren’t sullied by his own bias.
“It’s not a crap plan!” He said, his anger raging as he went to spin around, stopping in his tracks as he shoved his index finger in her face. “Like you and anyone else are doing anything at all except wondering around like ants You say this now. That I don’t have a good plan, that I can’t do this, that I can’t save the day. I’ve been working on this for weeks while you all have accepted your fate. I can’t wait to waltz through that door and leave you all here.” The skin flushed on his cheeks, going up to his hairline as he lost control of the words leaving his mouth. He paused as he tried to calm himself down. He couldn’t believe that he had lost it like that in front of her. Why did she provoke him like that? What did she have against him? He lowered his hand and slowly turned away from her, surprised at his actions.

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] LOOK NOW, DON'T TOUCH [attr="class","next"] Every time they made eye contact there was a strange thrill that went through the pit of her stomach. He was just so…so intolerable. It was as if no one had ever tried to tell him that he was wrong, “You’re probably right. You’re probably going to die.” She muttered, turning to look at the rose bushes that were on the side of the path upon which they were traveling. They looked normal, but he could have been right. They had already encountered strange things within Wonderland. Should she have sucked the poison out of his wound? No, she thought reaching up to rub her temples, That would have been weird.“Funny, I don't think I even asked to see them,” Tania countered, keeping her voice aloof, despite the fact that the prospect had her rather excited. Blueprints? Plans? Memories? What she wouldn’t give to remember who she was. Tania stopped for a moment to take a look at the rose bushes, leaning down and staring at one of the pretty white flowers upon the branch. She was rather excited, hyperactive even. She touched each of the flowers in turn as she tried to count them all. Tania wondered just how many roses there were in Wonderland. It seemed like such a silly thing to have in excess. She was rather like a child…then again, so was he. Maybe that was the reason that she felt so drawn to Buddy. She had connected with children and it seemed like that was what he was too — they were both like little children. Him perhaps a little rougher around the edges, but she enjoyed having a playmate for the time being. She found that she was smiling again; a gentle smile that sat on her lips as she looked up at him, ignoring the bush as she strained and then trailed after him. But it was short lived for he spun around and shoved his finger into her face. Her mouth fell open. She was certainly taken aback and pressed her fingertips to her lips as he wagged his finger in her face. Was she trying not to smile? He was right, they had done nothing. But what did he want her to do? Fall at his feet because he was coming up with a flawed plan? He was going to need someone to poke holes through it if they were ever going to get their memories back, “I never said you couldn’t do it,” She said, moving her hand to push his away from her face. The lingering feeling of his skin against hers frightened her — there was something about him, “I just said the plan was crap. You can always redo a plan,” Her voice was low, barely above a whisper. She wanted her memories back — she wanted them badly, but she didn’t want anyone want to get hurt in the process.

“Wonderful. I’m sure that my ghost will give you a glowing reference as a nurse,” He said as he looked down at the roses. He scowled at them as though they were out to get him and had done him a grave personal injustice. When eating cookies or drinking strange bottles could alter your body size, you tended to be wary of the unfamiliar objects in your environment. He had no intentions in being in a story of warning. ‘Don’t be like Buddy and touch the thorns or else you’ll die a terrible flesh rotting death’. He could see it now.
He watched as she went around touching the flowers. He raised his eyebrows, visibly bothered by what she was doing. “What are you doing? Is this a girl thing with this weird fascination with flowers?” He bent down to pick one of the white roses, his fingers careful at not touching any of the thorns. He picked off the thorns, his fingers getting pricked in the process very lightly. After making sure the rose was bare he made a motion with his hand that could be taken as him giving her the flower. However he merely began to pick the petals off of the rose. One by one they fluttered to the ground. His eyes never left hers as he pulled off the soft white petals from their safe home.
“I don’t need your advice,” Buddy said stubbornly. He was not going to accept it from the likes of her. “When you’ve learned anything about engineering, when you know how weapons work, then I might listen to you because then you may know what you’re talking about. I don’t have to explain myself to you.” He dropped the now bare flower at her feet before he went to turn around without another word. He stepped forward, his pace fast as he realized how close he was to his home. He needed to get inside and away from her. She was not part of the plan in any sense of it. He wanted nothing to do with her and yet he did.
“Sacrifices have to be made. There will always be casualties. Anyone that tells you otherwise is a fool and is lying to you,” He told her as he turned back to look at her for a moment. Buddy noticed how she was standing there ambivalently. He wanted to say more but he knew that he had to break this off before he got too wrapped up again. He walked to his house and opened the door, still feeling her presence. He ignored her as he went inside, into his sanctuary where there was no one to challenge him…no one to challenge him

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] LOOK NOW, DON'T TOUCH [attr="class","next"] “No it’s not a girl thing it’s a me thing,” Tania said brightly as she smelled one of the flowers. Her eyes were momentarily drawn to his fingertips as he plucked one of the white roses and she thought that he was going to hand it to her. There must be beauty within everyone, she thought as she pressed her fingertips to her lips again, holding the smile back ever so slightly. But she was wrong. He tore the petals from their rightful place amongst the flower and let them fall to the ground, one by one. Her mouth opened to beg him not to, but it was already too late. The flower had been ruined and in its stead was a simple stem prickled with thorns. She met his eyes, expecting to see anger, animosity, but she found that he seemed just as equivocating as she did. The strange conflict between them was both agreeable and strangely jarring. He dropped the pathetically bare flower at her feet and she bent to pick it up, careful not to pick herself on the thorns. Every thorny thing had been a flower once, right? Had Buddy been a flower? Tania imagined that there was a time when he was just as beautiful and kind as the white roses that he seemed to hate so much. The thought made her smile, but it was grim. Somewhere along the line he had gotten lost. Somewhere along the line she had lost herself, too. Was she a fool? Wishing for her memories seemed foolish, but Buddy didn’t seem to think so. He was convinced that they had to do something about it. Could they get their memories back without the danger of hurting someone else? She shook her head to her own thoughts, trying to clear the cloudiness and darkness of her memory that seemed to be shadowing her own thoughts. Tania thought she should say something. She should gather the courage and say something. She opened her mouth and raised her finger, but she was caught off guard with his eyes on hers again. He looked like he wanted to say something to and Tan wondered if it was the same thing that she was thinking. She hadn’t moved, she wouldn’t move, she instructed herself. She bit back the ‘Good afternoon, Buddy,’ that had gotten lodged in her throat. She didn’t let go of that stupid stem. It was nothing now — just a worthless branch full of thorns — but she kept it in her hands as she walked back through the woods, the same way that they had came. She stood looking at the door for a long time until she couldn’t take it any more. Throwing the branch at the foot of the door she walked home. There wasn’t anything left to do today.
NOTES got abnormally deep there haha [newclass=.next::-webkit-scrollbar]width: 5px;[/newclass][newclass=.next::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background: #000;[/newclass]
