Over 440 years is a long time to be the collector of teeth and Guardian of Memories — but not long enough for Toothiana. In fact, she would do just about anything to keep her job. Meet the real Tooth Fairy: for all those years, Tooth had been collecting children’s baby teeth and leaving behind money and other gifts in their stead. A beautiful feathered fairy with the gift of flight, Toothiana could speak every language in the world. She could communicate with beings from around the globe.[break][break]
And so, that is where we begin our story.[break][break]
It had been some time since the last gathering of the Guardians, but when they were summoned by the Northern Lights and met together, it was obvious that something was wrong. Perhaps not something, but someone: Pitch the Boogeyman. The Man in the Moon told the Guardians that Pitch had returned and new guardian was chosen, Jack Frost. She could hardly contain her excitement about the boy! Have you seen his teeth?! she remembered thinking gleefully. [break][break]
Her joy was short-lived however. For upon Jack’s arrival to the rest of the Guardians, she received word that her castle was being attacked. It was the Nightmares and Pitch and they were stealing her teeth. As she few back to the castle, she was too late.[break][break]
It was the teeth that held the memories of childhood, the reason that she — the Guardian of Memories — was collecting them in the first place. Tooth told Jack that they had all been real human beings before they were the Guardians. In order to keep the children believing in Tooth, they planned to collect the teeth on their own. Tooth hadn’t been out in the field for quite some time and struggled with it initially, but she soon found herself falling into the familiar stride of flying through the air and interacting with the children that she loved so dearly. It was what she was meant to do.[break]
[break]
The Guardians managed to succeed in defeating Pitch after that, as he was carried away by his own Nightmarish creatures. Tooth was proud of Jack for joining the guardians and the world seemed righted again. She went back to collecting teeth in the field — interacting with the children until everything stopped.[break][break]
[break][break]
She woke up confused — she couldn’t remember anything. Not what she had been doing or why she had awoken in the middle of a field. She couldn’t remember where she was or who she was…except for her name: Tania. Memories — they were important to her, she knew that, but for what reason? The rest was foggy…like a distant memory that had been lost to the wind. Every time she reached out for it, it seemed to get further away. [break][break]
Confusion and frustration surrounded her after that fateful day five months ago. She didn’t know who she was, but she knew who she needed to be. The village that was brought up in Wonderland offered her a chance to assume the position of a pediatric nurse. She tended to the children of Wonderland, making sure they were well and always smiling. Sometimes she dreams of wings and colors and castles in the sky, but they are just distant memories…nothing more.[break][break]
That is where we find our heroine now: trapped between the world that she lives in now and the world whose memory haunts her. [break][break]
Tania is still, in part Toothiana. She is sweet, bubbly, elegant, daring, agile, graceful, charismatic, motherly, smart and a fierce fighter. And above all, she is passionate. It’s hard to ruffle her feathers, but when someone does, she can easily get on their case. But she will always work to protect the children of Wonderland, because that is her duty. [break][break]
