Bet Your Daddy's Little Girl (Kovu)

Everyone in this village were desperate to figure out who they really were once they figured out that they weren't the only ones suffering from serious memory loss. Kovu, on the other hand, couldn't care less. He figured if he couldn't remember it then it wasn't worth remembering in the first place. This wonderland they lived was surely much better than where ever they were before so what was the point? From the attic on the edge of the woods that he squatted in, Kovu snuck back into the deep woods every second he could. The deeper he got into the woods the more at home he felt. Perhaps it was the sense of adventure he felt or the darkness that he was so fond of that gave him a sense of home. Whatever it was, Kovu found excitement the longer he explored the vast woods.

During his long adventure Kovu heard a faint voice- no, it was more like foot steps. Someone was coming from the west and they were coming fast. Kovu crouched a little as he headed toward the steps as they grew louder and louder. Through the thin amount of fog he could see it, a girl running from something, but what was it? At this point Kovu wasn't even trying to hid from this girl, he was more curious with what she was running from. "Ay, who are you?" He called out, trying to use the deepest voice he could muster,

It was rare for Kovu to find someone in the woods but it seemed like something had found the girl first. After she had come to a halt, and Kovu called out, she acknowledged him by holding up a finger to ask him to wait a moment. Did she really just tell him to wait? Kovu lowered his brows and squinted his eyes at the girl as she took the time to catch her breath. The longer it took for her to respond the more impatient Kovu felt but no less on guard.

Finally she came to her feet and answered his question, but Kovu made sure to keep full contact on this girl. Kiara- why did that sound so familiar to him? The young man remained still as he watched her scan the area until she figured out where he was. "What were you running from?" He raised a brow and grinned lightly, completely ignoring her question. Kovu kept himself turned enough to keep her in sight once she made her way to stand beside him, "Doesn't matter what I'm doing- what are you doing in the woods?" He emphasised greatly on why she was there, his head tilted upward as he looked down at her with a stern look.

Kovu asked her what she was doing in the woods and the girl simply stared at him, blinking a few times. She had the most beautiful set of hazel eyes that for a moment he lost all train of thought. Even in the setting of the dark woods, she still seemed to have such a glow. Kovu's stern look lightened up into a soft smile as she explained that she had already told him she was exploring. She crossed her arms and the way she shifted weight to her left leg with slight attitude was ever so cute to Kovu. You know my name. Why can't I know your's? Kovu lifted his left shoulder and rolled his eyes with a light smile. No answer, just an expression of 'it doesn't matter'.

"I meant why are you exploring?" He deepened his voice and he tilted his chin down for a more menacing look. He was only playing around. "Who knows what lurks here in the woods.." Kovu smirked lightly, sharing some words he was told by Scar not but a day before. He himself saw no problem with exploring the woods but Kiara didn't strike him as the type to explore on her own. "I'm Kovu- do your parents know you're here?" Kovu raised his brows as he emphasised on her parents not knowing.

Kovu found himself staring at this girl while she spoke. It was hard not to- look at her, she was gorgeous. Beside that, he was taught to study those around him and to really read them. Kiara, on the other hand, he wasn't reading, just kind of admiring her beauty. Now here she was standing before him calling him pretty boy. Kovu chuckled deeply but he didn't care- she had the brightest smile.

She explained she was exploring because she wanted a change of scenery and that her father didn't know where she was. He raised his eyebrows at the very idea of her being so rebellious, it just didn't fit her angelic face. "Your daddy doesn't know you're out here?" Kovu gave her a sly look, "Is this your first time not telling your daddy? Do you always do what your father says?"

Kovu was obviously just teasing her and his sly smile didn't leave when she jokingly asked if he was going to kill her. Cute guy. Pretty boy. Was she trying to charm him? Well she didn't have to try and that was no lie. His smile dropped from his face as he took a step closer to her, staring down into her eyes. "Now why would I do that? It would be an abomination to harm something so gorgeous."

We wouldn't be having this conversation now would we. She crossed her arms and Kovu let out another chuckle. Boy was he enjoying the looks she gave him- such attitude and yet such poise. "There's a first for everything." He cocked his chin to the left and pursed his lips as he raised his brows. He didn't get the impression she was one to stray too far from her dear daddy's wishes despite what she might say. His lips curled into a smile as she laughed- it was music to his ears.

Kovu was enjoying his time with this girl more than he probably should. She was gorgeous in spirit and appearance and yet she had a sense of familiarity. He didn't think much of the familiarity at first but then again he wasn't like the others in the town who were searching for their lost memories. Kovu could simply careless and yet as he stood face to face with her he began to think about those lost memories. Was this girl in those wandering memories? Or was she just a spirit similar to one he connected with in his story?

Her cheeks flushed a deep red as the words registered in her mind. She grew quiet as she stared back at him. Kovu's eyes desperately scanned her face in hopes to get a read. "Did-did I say something wrong?"

There wasn't a moment of relief in the silence between words for the young man. Scared he had somehow damaged the start of something that could potentially be more, he tightly closed his eyes. He wanted more. More than a world of solitude and more of a world filled with her smile. Those eyes. That laugh.

Here they stood in the quiet woods with so much space around them but so little between them. Kovu didn't have to hear her compliments to get this warm feeling he felt inside. He opened his eyes to see she had looked away but he simply smiled softly and lovingly at her. "A girl like you?" Kovu had just met the girl but he saw no real flaw. Sure she hadn't spent much time from her family unlike Kovu. Perhaps he was blinded by her beauty and the sense of longing for her attention to have even noticed anything but the best in her.

His smile spread across his face as her eyes looked at him once more and she asked him if he would explore with her. "Do you trust me?" Kovu lifted his right hand and held it out between them with his palm up as if to accept her invitation. "I promise not to let the snakes get you."
