Hello my friend, I see you're back again Hello mystery, don't bother to explain tags KIT THADDEUS PRINCETON | notes Your plot idea was so funny, I had to roll with it XD | muse Various Things. yup. Daniel was always up for a drink at the bar- especially if it was going to be with Kit, town leader-ish, Mr. Steady, and fellow manly man. True, it was a bit strange to think about Dan and Kit going to have a drink together, but here Dan was, at the bar, asking for a vintage scotch and expecting the handsome man in the door at any second.
It had happened innocently enough- They had seen each other the other day, and gotten around to talking about many things- the weather, town affairs (which Daniel didn't really pay much attention to, but were interesting nonetheless), and just the state of the world in general. At the end, Daniel had said: "You know, we should go for a drink sometime," and guess who had agreed.
The bartender was fast to slide over his drink, and Dan took the first sip and scanned the bar. There were some pretty ladies here... one in the corner had short, black hair and a winning smile; another was short, blonde, and sassy. Hm, perhaps he could have some fun with Kit today...

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] I HAVE TO LET IT OUT [attr="class","next"]Kit liked going out for drinks with Daniel. There was something about him that made him laugh — perhaps it was the fact that the pair was just so starkly different that it created a hilarious pairing that people couldn’t quite look away from. The suave and flirtatious Dan mixed with the rather stiff and gentile Kit. It was a funny match, he would give them that. But Kit enjoyed his company — it was nice to meet with someone who wasn’t just interested in hanging around him because he was the community-leader these days. And they got on quite well, he would admit. Entering into the bar, it didn’t take long to find Kit — with the entire bar of women ogling after him, all he had to do was follow the love-sick puppy gazes of the estrogen-filled patrons. Straight to the edge of the bar where Dan himself was perched. Kit was happy to see him, giving him a friendly slap on the back as he took the stool next to him at the bar, “I’ll have whatever...he’s…having….” Kit realized that the pair was exchanging glances and he raised his eyebrows. When she finally managed to pull herself away from the bar to actually fetch his drink, Kit turned to Dan, “Do you ever take a day off, Dan?” He asked, grinning as he knitted his fingertips together on top of the bar, “I don’t know how you do it, you’ve got the whole village looking at you like you’re some sort of…god!” His laughter was light, joking. He was in charge of the village, but he liked to enjoy himself on occasion. Didn’t everyone?

Hello my friend, I see you're back again Hello mystery, don't bother to explain Daniel absolutely loved being the one that all the ladies tried to catch the attention of. He reveled in it- a fact that he was known for around town. Honestly he didn't care if that was his reputation. It filled a bit of the hole in him created by the loss of his memory of events more than five months ago. Everyone had their way of coping, and this was his. In all actuality, there probably was less ogling after Daniel than Kit imagined; a couple of ladies might even have their eyes on Kit. He was a handsome fellow, too, and one of those stoic knights-in-shining-armor types instead of the suave, passionate charmer that Daniel was.
It wasn't long after Daniel arrived that Kit walked in, and after ordering his drink (a repeat of his partner's drink, which probably meant that he didn't come here often) greeted Dan with a hearty slap on the back. Daniel tore his gaze away from the femme fatales in the bar and turned to face his comrade, a pleasant smile lighting up his features. "Nope, taking days off is a rare luxury I can't afford." Kit's remarks made him chuckle. He was surprised, though, too. He had no idea that anyone in the village admired him like that. "A god? Naah. A lot of them like me, but I don't think they quite consider me a god." Daniel shook his pointer finger at Kit a couple times before emphasizing, "Actually, I know of a couple girls that treat you like a god."

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] I HAVE TO LET IT OUT [attr="class","next"] “Right, right. We wouldn’t want you to miss your chance to shack up with that blonde in the corner, would we? Days off are for the weak, anyway.” Kit joked as he reached up and ran a hand through his dark hair as he waited for his drink. He was, of course, kidding, but there was a part of him that was moderately envious about the whole thing. Dan just had that natural talent for making the women follow after him. He had been staring at the women in the corner when he realized exactly what Dan was implying. Very quickly he tore his eyes away, just in case she ended up being one of these women that Daniel was suggesting. “Me?” Kit couldn’t help but laugh as the bartender slid him a whiskey, “Thank you.” He said as he gathered his own thoughts. The only reason that people thought of him at all was because he had sort of been forced into leading the community. Not that he minded, but Dan’s goddom stemmed from somewhere else entirely, “No, they just haven’t anyone else to look at during town summit meetings. Common infatuation.” He tipped the glass back and took a deep swig of the whiskey. It burned as it went down and he was almost certain that he would never get used to the feeling. He raised his glass to Dan as he grinned again, “How have you been, mate?”

Hello my friend, I see you're back again Hello mystery, don't bother to explain Daniel knew it was all in fun, and he was pretty proud of his ability to grab any woman he wanted and charm her into liking him, but what Kit said about shacking up with the blonde in the corner... it hurt deep down inside, just a little bit. It injured a little part of him that did actually want to settle down and get rid of the womanizing reputation... the part of him that wondered if before he had woken up in the grass outside Wonderland, did he have a wife and family? "Ouch." He laughed, play-punching Kit on the arm- not too hard, of course. "You're right though- days off are for the people who don't like to work. When you enjoy your job like I do, every day you don't work is a major dock in pay." Of course he wasn't working any real job right now except drifter.
Kit was handsome, too, enough so that he could be a prince- one of those knight-in-shining armor types. Girls really did like to dream about settling down with men like that, though they also admired and had flings with the roguishly handsome, free-spirited ones. "Yes you. You're very welcome." Daniel said in the most serious voice he could muster at the moment. Pausing to take another sip of his drink, he let the strong liquid hit his throat and push the mini-rush through his head. Kit's retort about being just something else to look at made him chuckle. "Awh, don't say that. I'm sure that you could pick up girls just as easily as me. You just don't have the experience." Dan knew of Kit's tendency to be stiff sometimes; he was sure that if he were able to get over that roadblock he would have a lot better luck with romance.
"Oh, I've been fine. You know me- jumping around. If I'm not dead or lost yet, my life is swell." Dan raised his glass to meet Kit's and took another drink, this time larger. The rush that went through his head was stronger this time.

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] I HAVE TO LET IT OUT [attr="class","next"] “You know that was only in jest!” Kit threw up his hands as if to suggest that he was innocent and tried not to laugh. He had always had a good time playing Dan off as the player of the pair and, while it wasn’t necessarily untrue, Kit knew that he wasn’t a bad guy. No, if he were a bad guy than they would not have been friends. He was instead moderately jealous of the life that Dan led — although, he wasn’t sure that he would ever want to give up the sort of position that he had placed himself in. Having people look up to him felt…good. Kit shook his head. There was no way in hell that he could pick up girls the way that Dan did. Dan was clever and calm and suave, he always knew what to say next. Meanwhile, Kit was trying to compliment the way a girl carried herself and it always got awkward. There was a reason that he hadn’t been on any dates or outings since he had landed in Wonderland. Most of which he liked to blame on the fact that he drowned himself too deeply in his work, “That’s just called natural charm, my friend. I think you were born to be a ladies man while I was born to bury myself in paperwork and other people’s problems.” It wasn’t a bad title to have, Kit thought with a grin. As Kit threw back more of his whiskey he remember just how glad he had been to meet Dan. There was something to be said about the man as his friend — he was lucky to have someone that seemed to offer a unique insight to the world. There they were, the two of them sitting at the bar chatting as if they had known each other for forever and yet, it had only been five short months, “And well deserved, too. I’d offer you a job as my second in command, but I’m sure you’d just refuse again.”
