It was always sword fighting and horseback riding for young Prince Kit. The son of a monarch in the wealthy districts of France. His mother died when he was rather young, leaving him at the full receiving end of his father’s constant disapproval. From this very early age, he was expected to have the airs and graces of a king — despite the fact that he was still very young.[break][break]
“King-in-Trainin’! KIT!” That was what his young playmates used to call him as they ran around the castle, pretending to sword fight. Kit never let it get to him — for, although he felt that they may be right — he was determined to be more than just a king in training. He was determined to grow up into his own man. Light hearted, humorous, vital and a keen romantic, Kit grew into the man that he wanted to be. His father demanded hunting while the Prince demanded kindness for animals. He was always after the kind of love that he once saw his mother and father had — the sort of eternal and pure love.[break][break]
When he was of age, Kit went to war for the kingdom with his father’s well wishes. He knew he wanted to protect his people and the best way to do so was for him to actually go out and be the man on the front lines. When he returned from his long absence, he was practically ambushed by his father — desperate for an heir to the throne. His father decided to throw his son a welcome home ball, one in which he would hope the son would fall in love during. [break][break]
So all the maidens of the land were invited to the ball that was held on that very same night. Kit was unimpressed by nearly all of them — too short, too pompous, talked too little, talked too much. He found that there was something missing from it all. It wasn’t until he saw her that things started to turn around. Enchanted by a beautiful girl in a blue dress that wandered around the ballroom, the Prince courted her and asked her for the waltz, to which she agreed. [break][break]
Love was much simpler back then, and the Prince and this beautiful girl fell for one another by the moonlight’s glow. She was kind and just, she was smart and beautiful. The girl was courageous and everything that Kit wanted to see in himself. She was perfect for him. But it all ended when the clock struck midnight. She slipped from his arms and ran off. The Prince ran after her, trying to stop her or at least get her name or where to find her, but he was detained by the other maidens at the ball trying to figure out who the mysterious woman was as well.[break][break]
It was the slipper that saved him, for the young maiden that he had fallen so desperately in love with had left it behind on the stairs of the castle. Kit decided to marry the very girl who could wear the slipper. The kind and the Grand Duke of the kingdom began a non-stop search to find the girl who had captured their Prince’s heart. [break][break]
After days, the Duke found Ella and brought her back to the castle where she was reunited with Kit. The pair was married shortly thereafter. Kit began to notice something was off with Ella after that — she was acting strange and distant, despite the fact that they were newly married. He had planned on confronting her on the eve of the curse, but as fate would have it, the villains intervened.
As the curse erased their memories and changed their lives, Kit was pulled away from his Ella and lost every memory of ever being with her. Now, one of the younger members of this new society in Wonderland, he has been trying to help rebuild the city as their community leader. He is still levelheaded and a leader that guides them, rather than ruling. He listens, he engages and yet…he feels as if something is still missing. He dreams of a haunting melody. Who am I?[break][break]
