Trini was not happy that day at school, which was a rare thing. The girl was usually happy the whole day, whether she was doing work or having lunch or playing at recess. Very little seemed to make the other girl be otherwise. However, there she was, sitting on a bench and bouncing a red ball on the ground and catching it at a slow pace. Her mouth had a huge frown and she looked like she was about to cry. She seemed to hold back the tears though. It was as if she was trying to be strong, not just for herself but for someone else as well. A visit from Vincent Rattshire tended to do that. Nothing that man did made anyone happy. Sure he could make people sad, angry, and afraid, but never happy. And his visit had hit Trini and her mother extremely hard. All day her friends asked her what was wrong, but she wouldn't tell them. She didn't want people to feel bad for her. She tried her best to perk up, but she just couldn't. Not only was she sad about the incident, but worried as well. The things Rattshire said... they were horrible. She sighed and kept idly playing with the ball. GISELLE ADELINA SNOW

Everyday, the teachers would take turns to watched the children as they played outside at recess time. Today with two another teacher, it was Giselle's turn. Which didn't bothered her since she loved to watch the children play. It was such a joy to see the smiles on the children faces as they played. Giselle was watching a few kids playing hide and seek, when she noticed Trini, sitting on a bench.
Giselle found it odd that Trini was sitting by herself. Trini was usually the one that she had to keep a close eye on, which was because the girl was very adventurous. While keeping her eyes on the other children, Giselle made her way to Trini. She then sat down beside Trini. Taking her eyes off the other children, Giselle looked at Trini.
Trini had a huge frown on her face and she looked like she was about to cry. It broke Giselle's heart to see a child looked so sad. "Trini, what's wrong?" Giselle asked in a gentle voice. She hoped the girl would open up to her and tell her what's wrong.

Trini wasn't trying to make someone feel sorry for her. If she could, she would be beaming and playing and trying to forget about what had happened. Often if someone simply picked on her for whatever reason, she just brushed it off and went and joined her true friends in whatever game they were playing. She didn't give it another thought. However, this incident involved her mother being mistreated, and worse... it involved the potential of she and her mother being put in a rather terrible situation. That really hate away at her, but she was afraid to ask anyone for help. Trini kept bouncing her ball when her teacher, Ms. Snow, came over. She tried to muster up some kind of positive energy for the teacher, but it didn't come out. "Hello, Ms. Snow," she said quietly. When Ms. Snow asked her what was wrong, Trini looked out at the other children and then back at her teacher. "I'm not sure if I should talk about it with the other students around. It's something really bad that happened to me and my mom. I'm afraid one of the students might go and tell Mr. Rattshire that I was talking about him."GISELLE ADELINA SNOW

Giselle could tell that something was very wrong, especially when Trini had greeted her. It was a quiet greeting, which had Giselle very concerned. Giselle wondered if another student was bothering her. If that did happened, Giselle hoped that the girl will tell her or another teacher. Bullying or picking on anyone wasn't tolerated at the school. Fortunately, it wasn't about another student.
However, it had something to do with Mr. Rattshire and her mother. "Oh dear," Giselle said. She had heard a lot about Mr. Rattshire and none of it was pleasant. Looking around the playground, Giselle spotted another teacher. "I'll be right back," she said to Trini.
She then walked over toward the other teacher. Giselle let the teacher know that she would be back since she was going to help a student with a problem. As she walked back towards Trini, Giselle hoped that she could help Trini with her problem, even though she didn't know exactly what the problem was. Sitting back down, she turned back towards Trini. "Would you like to go back to my classroom to talk about this problem?"

Trini wasn't surprised when Ms. Snow said "Oh dear" about Rattshire. That guy was definitely an "oh dear" type of person. He was mean and scary and Trini shivered every time she saw him. It was like a really cold wind hit her or something. Trini nodded to Snow, and then watched as she walked off and talked to another teacher. She then returned and asked Trini if they could talk in the classroom. Trini thought for a moment, then realized something. If she couldn't trust someone as mice as Ms. Snow, who could she trust outside of her mother? She looked over at Snow and nodded with a small smile. "Yes," she said. "Thank you, Ms. Snow."Once in the classroom, Trini sat down at her desk, not sure where else to really sit there. She didn't want to be rude or anything, especially when her teacher was trying to help her. She sighed a moment, then began to tell what had happened. "Last night right before dinner, Mr. Rattshire came to our door," she said. "He came in and was very mean to us, even though mom offered him some coffee. He told my mom that she wasn't paying the new taxes everyone's supposed to pay." She then frowned. "He said if she didn't pay them soon, my mom and I wouldn't have a place to live." Tears then poured down her eyes. GISELLE ADELINA SNOW

Giselle wasn't one to listened to people gossip about other people. She thought that it was rude and that nothing good came from gossiping. However, when she heard things about Mr. Rattshire, she knew they had to be true. Especially when Belle had told Giselle of her encounter with the evil man. And now that Trini had brought him back up, Giselle began to worried.
As Giselle came back and asked Trini did she wanted to talk about this in her classroom, the little girl said yes. "Very well then and you are welcome," Giselle said as she walked back to her classroom with Trini. Once Giselle was in her classroom, she pulled up a chair beside Trini's desk. Giselle waited patiently for Trini to tell her what had happened. She didn't rushed her nor was she in any hurry to go back outside.
This sweet little girl was going through some things and Giselle wanted to know what was going. As Trini began to tell Giselle what was wrong, Giselle heart went out to Trini. A gasp had escaped from Giselle's lips. The girl had witnessed a vile man being mean to her mother. And to make matters worse, he was going to kick them out if her mom didn't pay the new taxes.
"That's terrible Trini." She watched as tears poured down Trini's face. Getting up from her seat, Giselle had walked to her desk and got the box of tissues from her desk. She then walked back to her chair and sat down. Pulling tissues out of the box, she gave them to Trini.
"Trini, I know everything might be horrible at this moment. However, I assure you that everything will be okay." Giselle wondered was there anything she could do to help Trini and her mother. She didn't want to see them end up homeless. Maybe she could talk to the Trini's mom and go from there.
"Trini, do you think it would be okay if I talk to your mother?" She hoped that the other woman wouldn't think she was being nosy. That was the last thing that Giselle wanted the woman to think.
