The woods were solemn in the dawn of the morning. Everything seemed to be varying shades of gray, nothing quite substantial enough to touch, yet solid enough that you felt you may run into what was only a ray of the rising sun. Pongo walked down the well worn path, he had taken it many times, at least two or three times a week, depending on the mail. As he walked, the trees thinned revealing a clearing that would be perfect for bringing the puppies... or the children, rather, to play. Pongo shook his head. He didn't know why he thought of the kids as puppies. Maybe it was because they were all so wonderful to be around, and he couldn't help but be happy when he was with them. Though being with just Perry and the kids most of the time was wonderful, he felt he needed something more, a guy friend. Someone he could talk to about... well guy stuff. Deciding to stop and take a break, Pongo set his mail bag down. He spread out on the grass, lacing his fingers behind his head as he stared up at the blue sky, mottled with clouds. tag: @pongo | Atwell's daughter was old enough to be home alone without a worry. She was responsible and honestly what trouble could a 14 year old get in at home? So he was off for a nice jog but this time he wasn't going to jog around the village. Atwell wanted a change of scenery so he headed into the forest and stayed on the path as much as possible.
It was a nice morning and the shaded path made the run more bearable compared to the runs in the village. It was when he hit a clearing of grass, Atwell decided to take a break from the jog and enjoy the sun. The man rubbed what little sweat he had off and slowed to a walk. That's when he saw him. Another man out in the clearing.
He had met Pongo numerous times when he delivered boxes of paint to the school. Pongo seemed like a nice guy and the kids seemed to take to him well. "Ay, mate." Atwell called as he walked towards the man who was laying out on the grass. "Pongo is it?"

Pongo looked up at the distinctly Australian voice that called to him. A man who looked familiar had called his name and was walking toward him. It looked like he was out for a run, that could be fun. Pongo loved running, he just did't do it too often. "Yes, I'm Pongo. But I seem to be at a disadvantage. I don't remember your name." He pushed himself up so he was standing when the man reached his spot on the grass, and he held out his hand to shake his. "Great day for a run." Pongo commented, weather talk? he thought to himself bringing a slight smile to his face.

Atwell hoped he wasn't intruding but it never crossed his mind until he had already called out to the other man. Unfortunately the man didn't know him but that wouldn't put a damper on Atwell. "It's a'right, mate, and there's no need to get up. I could go for a sit." He let out a deep breathe and flashed a nice smile to the man.
"Names Atwell, I work at the school. I'ma art teacher." Atwell shook Pongo's hand before he mentioned the weather. "Not too bad for a relaxing lay in the grass either, nah?" He let out a chuckle, "Mind if I join ya?"
