Mera did not feel comfortable staying in one place for too long. She liked exploring and seeing new places, meeting new people. She just preferred it that way. Then you weren't stuck in a boring life with people you were no longer sure you liked anymore. Even if you did really like someone and you returned to where they were she liked the feeling of seeing people she knew after awhile away. Though she did end up spending most of her time in the village anyway, since she could dance and make money much easier since it was a well populated area with more people willing to throw money at you, especially in the market.
However, Mera had spent an extra long amount of time (for her anyways) in the village this time and she had figured it was about time that she moved on to explore some more. In the time she had been in Wonderland she had yet to actually explore the woods and figured it would be a good time to try. Which is how she ended up lost in the woods and it was dark. She was slightly scared as anyone would be when they got lost in the woods, but not enough to panic. In fact it was kind of exciting to be lost in the woods for Mera. That was how she felt until she heard someone nearby. She knew that people could be helpful or they could be cruel and animals tended to be more likely to be agitated and ready to bite you than not, so she was not sure what she was about to find in the being that she was hearing in the wood nearby.
She stopped dead in her tracks and peaked around her. Trying to get a glimpse of whoever or whatever was out there. Not seeing anything she called out, though in a hushed tone. "Hello?"
