Post by BASIL MOUSER BAKER on May 25, 2015 19:28:21 GMT
Mrs. Judson Baker's house was always small, it never had anything stand out worthy to it. Perhaps at one time with the lovely flowers outside and a few decorations, sadly those weren't there. The small yard was in good enough shape, the grass was green and cut with what weeds appearing being removed as soon as possibly. But other than grass there was nothing, not decorations on it; those items were sold long ago. The housed looked alright, the porch needed fixing for each time you stepped on it the wood creaked and groaned no matter the weight of the person or animal, only thing that didn't make it creak was bugs too light. The paint outside was grey though this was due to agining as it was once white in color. Today Basil's Aunt was out an about for a change, he had managed to fix the plumbing issue they were having that gave Basil the chance to get his Aunt out of the house. Though it took a while considering their neighbor came by right after that. The problem was now fixed though so that was excellent however right when he was just about to restart his experiment...there was knocking at the door. Basil groaned as he gently set the items down, went downstairs, and this time looked through the peep hole.
What he saw caused a frown to come to his face. However he made the expression go away as he opened the door to his....'guest'; though a intruder felt most appropriate instead.
"May I help you Mr. Rattshire?" Basil greeted.

Some compared Vincent Rattshire's approach like that of a specter or demon. This was because most of the places he went, he was not welcomed. The unfortunate thing was that he had a legal right to be there. It seemed that once someone had an account at the Wonderland Bank, one was under his control in a sense. Through an iron financial grip, he ran their lives. Among these was one Mrs. Judson. She had been given a loan some time back by the bank and had not made payments as of late. Some would show the old woman mercy. Vincent Rattshire did not know the meaning of that word. Approaching her home, he knocked on the door with his silver rat head-topped cane. Instead of an old lady answering, a man he knew somewhat well, Basil Baker, did. Rattshire smirked when Basil asked if he could help you. "You can be very little help to me, Mr. Baker," he said. "I wish to speak to your dear aunt on some rather urgent bank business. Is she at home?" Rattshire then looked inside the house. "If one can call this a home. Looks a bit drab if you ask me."BASIL MOUSER BAKER

"She's not home at the time." Basil answered. "Now see here, it may not look like anything to you but it is a home. Not everyone has gold lining their pockets."
There was always something about this man that...Basil didn't trust. Was it just because his Aunt was struggling like himself currently? Or was it...something else? It was hard to place but Basil learned to trust his instincts though he wouldn't voice it. This was a man of the bank, high up there. For now, Basil would at least be somewhat respectful toward em. Course his moody nature might seem like he wasn't giving it.
"An before you ask, no I don't know when she'll be back. So what is this urgent business? I help my Aunt keep this place here and as her kin living here, I hold the right to know." Basil questioned.

Rattshire looked over Basil as he reminded the bank president that not everyone had gold lining their pockets. "Oh indeed," he said in cold agreement. "And that, sir, is the purpose of my visit. Now I suggest you allow me inside, Mr. Baker. After all, this house many very well belong to the bank soon." He waited to see if Basil would comply. He didn't know what it was about this man, but he particularly despised Baker. Perhaps it was because Baker wasn't easily intimidated by him as others were. He seemed to wish to speak his mind around Rattshire. Whatever the case, there was hatred there between the two men. "So you have the right to know about your dear aunt's financial affairs?" he said. "How interesting. Well I suppose I can relay my business to her loyal nephew. You see this house was purchased via a loan from my bank. The contract stated a set price for the payments each month... and consequences should those payments not be received. I'm afraid your aunt has not honored her part of the contract, and therefore I must deliver the saddening news that if all back payments are not made by Tuesday next, all her property will be relinquished to the Wonderland Bank And Trust. Am I clear, sir?"BASIL MOUSER BAKER
