(Snow White And Her Prince's Castle) So this was the end? Evelyn sat in her cell, one protected from her dark magic. Charming and Snow had won and her reign and ended. She had been captured and it had been decreed that she was to be executed for her many crimes. The hearts of her enemies were pure, but the hard fact was that no one was safe until the Queen was gone. She honestly didn't blame them for thinking that way. She was well aware of what she had done. One would think that the Queen would be standing in her cell and spouting off curses at anyone who past. One would think she would be scheming to escape death. But she was doing neither. She was just sitting there, staring at the wall. Something was on her mind though. A distant memory. She didn't know why it came to her, but it did. A look of sadness overcame her face, one that made her not look... well evil. A guard walked in with a rather generous dinner and wine. This was to be the Queen's last meal. She barely glanced at the guard or the plate as he placed it on the table. She expected him to walk away after that, but he didn't... at least not for a moment. "The princess wishes to speak to you," he said. "Do I have a choice?" said the Queen with little emotion. The guard just nodded and left to allow Snow to come in. GISELLE ADELINA SNOW

Snow decided to visit the Evil Queen. Charming was against this idea, but Snow didn't cared. All that mattered was getting some answers from her. Somehow Snow persuaded Charming to let her go see the Evil Queen, alone. She didn't think it would have been an good idea to have Charming and the Queen in the same place.
As she entered in the place that the Queen was kept at, she heard the Queen say something. She didn't say anything about what the Queen had said. Instead, she walked into the cell with the Queen. "It's okay," she told the guard. He had expressed his concerns to her, but she assured him.
Besides, she didn't think that the Queen would hurt her now. Snow had a feeling that she wouldn't do any harm. However, she still kept her distant from the other woman. Staring at the woman who Snow was mother figure, had made her sad. She had loss her mother, then her father, and now she was losing someone else. And the sad part about it was that she didn't know why. There was a thick silence between Snow and the other woman. Snow broke that silence by clearing her throat.
"I know I'm probably the last person you want to see now. But I need to know one thing from you." There were tears in Snow's eyes as she took at step towards the Evil Queen. Most people may think that Snow would asked about why the Queen killed her father. Some may think Snow want to know why the Queen tried to kill her. However, those wasn't the one thing Snow wanted to know. There was one question that she needed an answer to.
"What made you so evil?" That was the one question that she wanted answers to. And Snow wasn't going to leave until she knew the answer.

Evelyn looked up at Snow. Oddly enough her eyes were not filled with disgust or disdain. There was merely indifference there. "Snow, do come into my humble little cell," she said. She then looked at the small feast in front of her. "Quite a final meal you had prepared for me. My condemned prisoners were often lucky if they received bread and water."She then raised an eyebrow when Snow went on about how she was the last person Evelyn wanted to see, and that she wanted to know something. "Actually, I did hope to see you before the execution... sort of a final encounter as it were," she said. "I suppose you and I are due for a civilized conversation. Now, what do you wish to ask of me?"
Evelyn was a bit surprised by the question, but didn't show it. Her eyes were calm and collective, her face unmoved. She supposed Snow had a right to know. After all, she did kill the girl's parents. "Well, if you must know, my family weren't the most noble of noblepeople," she began. "They practiced quite a bit of dark magic and lusted for power. You might not believe this, but I was not like them at one time. I actually had a heart... and was sincerely in love with a young man, a dear stable boy named Daniel." She paused to see Snow's reaction, wondering if the girl would believe her. GISELLE ADELINA SNOW

Even though the Queen did some evil and horrible things, Snow made sure that the Queen at least had a good last meal. The Queen's last meal, Snow thought sadly. It was such a shame that it had to be like this. However, Snow stayed strong as she nodded to the Queen. "I thought it would be more appropriate if you have one good last meal."
Snow was surprised that the Queen had hoped to see her. "And why is that?" She didn't hide the fact that she was curious to know. Snow thought she really was the last person that the Queen wanted to see. She soon learned why the Queen had hoped to see her.
There was nothing that Snow wanted more than to have a civilized conversation with the Queen. As she asked the Queen her question, she waited for an answer. After a second had passed, Snow had gotten her answer. She also found out that the Queen use to have a heart, which Snow found quite interesting. It was kind of hard for Snow to believed that the Evil Queen had a heart once.
She didn't say anything though, as she listened to the Queen. So the Queen was in love once? That made Snow confused though. The Queen said that she actually had a heart and was in love. But if that was true wouldn't she be with Daniel right now?
Snow wanted to know what had happened. "So what change? Did something happen to Daniel?"

And here they were, enemies having a civilized conversations. If one were to see them, one would think that they were old friends, and that Evelyn had never tried to kill Snow on multiple occasions. Things changed when one was no longer in power, and the opposite player in such a twisted game now held all the cards... well perhaps not all of them. Time would tell there. Snow asked about what had changed. How did a star-crossed lover become one of the most wicked women in the world? And what became of poor Daniel. "Well, you see Daniel was a good boy..." Evelyn then looked sad for a moment. "A living saint as far as I was concerned. he treated me the way I wanted to be treated... the way I wished my family had treated me. But my family didn't want me with a stable boy. They had plans for me... plans involving marrying your father once... well once your mother was out of the picture. So they had to eliminate Daniel. My father used black magic to appear as Daniel. He then pretended to rob my family's treasury. When I caught him, the man who I thought was Daniel told me that he was using me to gain the family fortune. The next day, the real Daniel was arrested. It was only after his execution that I discovered the truth. But by then, I cared little for a noble life as the only light in my world was extinguished. I went through with my family's plan and well... here we are now."GISELLE ADELINA SNOW

To say that Snow was shocked by what the Evil Queen told her, was an understament. If Snow was honest, she didn't know if there was a word for how she was feeling. She couldn't believed the tragic story that she had heard. How could one even go through something like that? Snow didn't know the answer to that.
When the Evil Queen was done telling her sad, tragic story, Snow was quiet. She didn't say a word. She didn't even know what to say to what she heard. "I'm sorry that you went through that." That was all she could say.
Even though the woman had put Snow through hell, she still felt sorry for her. It wasn't fair that her parents would have done that. And poor Daniel, who had lost his life because of love. Snow fell silence as she thought of what else to say or ask. She then decided to asked a question that had popped into her head.
She didn't know if this question would surprised the other woman or not. However, this was a question that needed to be asked. "So was going through with your parents' plan worth it?" From where Snow stood it didn't look like it.

Evelyn knew Snow was being sincere when she said that she was sorry that the former Queen had endured that heartbreak. Snow was always so kind, so good, so loved. That was one of the things the woman hated about her. The girl knew how to love and could be loved. No one loved Evelyn when she was Queen. They only feared her. She enjoyed it then, but looking back perhaps it wasn't so grand. Perhaps had she fled her family and tried to save Daniel before the axe came down on his head, she would have found happiness, and would have found love. Perhaps if she had spared Snow's father, they could have been happy together. Perhaps she could have even grown to love Snow. No... no... she had to put away such foolish thoughts. She did what had to be done, all of it. It was her own fault for allowing Snow and her Prince to win in the end. "Life can be tragic like that," she said. "You should know this more than anyone."
She then thought as Snow asked her the question of all her evil being worth it. "Given I am about to meet my end, I suppose not," she said. "But I've had my time in the moonlight, and now it is yours."Just then a guard approached them and bowed to Snow. "Your highness, it is time," he said grimly. "Well then," sighed Evelyn. "We musn't dawdle. Best to get this over with."GISELLE ADELINA SNOW

Snow wondered what would it have been like if the Queen didn't do the evil things that she did. Snow's life wouldn't have had a lot of tragedies in them. Sadly, Snow would never know since she couldn't take the things the Queen did back.
She agreed with the other woman when she said that Snow knew about how life could be tragic. "You are right, I do know about tragic. However, it was because of you that I learned that." Her tone was angry nor was it sad. It was actually calm and peaceful.
It was an overwhelming feeling to hear the Queen said that it wasn't worth. However, Snow said nothing and let the Queen continued to speak. It was the last time that she would get to talk to her, right?
As the guard approached Snow, she knew what that meant. She nodded at the guard as he spoke. So this was it? The woman who she thought was like a mother to her, life was going to end in a few minutes. Before Snow walked out the cell, she walked towards the Queen.
She then did something that had shocked the guard. Snow was hugging the Queen. "I forgive you." That was all Snow said as she let the Queen go. There was no anger in her heart, only sadness.
She then left the Queen and the guard. The execution was only a few minutes away and Snow wanted to be with Prince Charming before it happened.

Evelyn looked at Snow just as peacefully when Snow reminded her that all of the tragedies in the young girl's life was because of the ex-Queen. There was no smirk or wicked look in her eyes. "Yes, I suppose your life would have been perfect if I hadn't become a part of it," she said. "Just as my life could have been the same if my family hadn't gotten involved. But I suppose what's done has been done. Time for you and I to both move on... well in a sense in my case anyway."When Snow hugged Evelyn, the woman was surprised but slowly returned to the hug. Snow had forgiven her. The Queen sighed a bit. "Do you now?" she said. "I suppose I couldn't expect anything less from you, being who you are."Soon it was time. Evelyn took her place in front of the firing range. The holy man residing over the execution read the usual speech, then asked if the Queen had any final words. She looked over at Snow a moment before turning to the Holy Man. "Only a request," she said. "I believe by law, the condemned has the option of allowing one she has wronged to carrying out his or her execution. Does this law still stand?"
"Yes it does," said the holy man. "Splendid," she said. "Well then, I choose the one I have wronged most of all... Snow White."GISELLE ADELINA SNOW

As Snow was beside standing beside Charming, she realized that she didn't want to see the ex-queen be executed. Turning to Charming, Snow looked at him with sadness in her eyes. "My love, I can't stand here and watch this. Is it ok if I go back to the castle and wait for this to be over?" Charming looked right back at Snow with loving eyes.
"Yes you can." He kissed and asked one of the guards to take her to the castle. But before she could even make her way to the castle, the ex-queen had wanted Snow to be her executioner. Everyone that was there had gasped, including Snow. Snow looked at Charming with questioning eyes.
Charming stared in disbelief at what that evil woman had said. He then turned to Snow. "You don't have to do this if you don't want to." She knew that it wasn't true, that she did have to do it. Snow then walked towards the person that was suppose to do the execution. The executioner gave Snow a solemn look as he gave her the bow and arrows.
Snow took the bow and arrows in her shaky hands. As she put the arrow in the bow, she pointed at the woman and closed her eyes. She opened her eyes and realized she couldn't go through it. With tears in her eyes, she dropped the bow. She then turned to the people.
Prince Charming ran to her side as he knew what she was going to say. "To all of you that wished to see an execution, you will not. For I have a forgiven heart and wish not to kill the ex-queen." There were a few people that disagreed with Snow, but Charming told them to be silence. Snow continued as the crowd fell silence.
"However, she still be punish by staying in prison for the rest of her life." Most of the people were happy about that. As long as the ex-queen was punish in some way, the people were happy.

Evelyn had done it. It was a risk indeed, but she believed that she was use some of Snow's strongest traits against her... her kindness, her compassion, her mercy. She also knew the old laws well, the ones Snow's father followed before he died, the ones that were restored when she was defeated. As Snow said that Evelyn was to be imprisoned for the rest of her life, Evelyn raised her hand. "Snow, my dear, I am surprised you are unaware of your own laws," she said. "If the chosen executioner chooses not to perform his... or her duties, the condemned is absolved of his... or her crimes. Granted that has never happened... until now. Now if you'll excuse me..."The ex-Queen was about to walk away, when she turned to Snow White. "Please know that I did take your forgiveness to heart, my dear," she said. "My grudge against you has been nullified. However, I have found I have a new purpose in life. I couldn't allow something as inconvenient as dying to get in the way of that. I trust you understand." She then bowed a little to Snow and her Prince. "Farewell, Your Majesties. Until we meet again." She then turned and made her way out. GISELLE ADELINA SNOW
