Belle wasn't expecting a whole lot to happen in the market that day. She was going to do what she usually did there, and that was what pretty much what every one did there... shop for food. She wanted to make something special for some guests who were coming over. Belle was so happy to have made so many friends since... well since when remembered being in the village. At first, she thought people assumed she was odd because her head was always in the clouds, but it turned out a lot of people were like her... dreaming of other places and adventures. Belle had gotten all the ingredients and items for the dinner, and know thought of her cat, Aesop. She wandered over to the fish being sold. There were all kinds, but Aesop could be a bit picky. She smiled when she saw the tuna. He loved that! She grabbed a few cans, then was about to pay and leave when she forgot something. "Oh my," she said to herself. "I need a new mixing bowl. It's going to be hard to make the cake without it!" She saw that the sections with kitchen items was back at the other side of the market. She quickly made her way over. ADAM LEON BEASTE |

Adam had been the owner of the market since the curse began. He couldn't remember who he really was, but he felt like he was used to the luxurious life and had been doing so since the curse began. He was moody and a bit selfish and stubborn at times, but he found himself caring towards the people working at his market. He felt conflicted in his feelings, feeling that he was abkve everyone else at times but also caring for people under his care. He felt like he was missing someone or something.
All of his acts of kindness were done in secret of course, so most people knew him as more of a tyrant than the kinder gentler side that secretly sent money or supplies to the struggling vendors or the homeless begging for food in his market. He did have the homeless removed from the market but he would send them away with food asking them not to return.
He was walking through the market doing an inspection of the vendors, appearances were everything to him of course. He had just finished berrating a vendor for having a drab looking stand and ordering him to fix it up when he turned to walk across the way and ran right into a woman who seemed to be hurrying by. He fell backwards bringing the girl with him, but he wrapped his arms around her and turned himself towards the ground so he would hit the ground and she would land on him so she wouldn't be injured, his body had moved on its own to do so.
He landed with an oomph sound.
((OOC: figured we could start with him being nasty with her and them separating with a fight before meeting up later when they get trapped in the market together. Let me know if you're okay with that and if i should change anything))

(Alrighty) Belle really did have her head in the clouds sometimes. While she was very bright and well-read, sometimes she focused on thing so much that she didn't notice other things... or other people. She was dashing along to get the bowl when she ran right into a large fellow. She was somewhat relieved that the landing was soft thanks to this fellow, but she then realized that he was probably not quite as happy about the situation. She also blushed in regards to the positioning. She quickly moved away from him and rose. She would have offered to help the large man up, but that would have been quite the feat. "Oh my," she said. "I am terribly sorry, sir. I should have been watching. I've had my mind on such much, what with all the pla..." Belle then realized how silly she sounded. She doubted this man cared about her dinner plans. She then realized who the man was. She had seen him a number of times there. "Oh dear, you're Adam Beaste, the owner of the market. Sir, I am terribly sorr... oh wait, I already said that. Well is there... is there anything I can do for you?" ADAM LEON BEASTE |

Adam was worried that the woman might have been hurt at first, but when she stood up quickly and started apologizing he could see that she was okay. He stood up slowly, brushing himself off. He suddenly was filled with anger. How could this woman not watch where she was going. Standing up he could feel his ankle had been injured but his anger pushed away the pain. "HOW DARE YOU?!" he said.
"CAN'T YOU SEE THAT THIS IS A PLACE OF BUSINESS? PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO BUY AND SELL THINGS HERE AND HERE YOU ARE RACING THROUGH HERE AND CAUSING US BOTH TO FALL DOWN!" he screamed. "YES I AM ADAM BEASTE, AND I AM THE OWNER OF THE MARKET, WHO ARE YOU THAT YOU ARE SO IMPORTANT YOU WOULD ALLOW BOTH YOURSELF AND ANOTHER PERSON TO BE INJURED?" he asked her still yelling at her. Then she asked him his name.
He began to laugh. "Is there anything you can do? Anything you can DO?!" he said. "YOU CAN GET OUT OF MY SIGHT BEFORE I HAVE YOU ARRESTED!" he said screaming at her again.

What happened next shocked Belle greatly. It was accident, yet Beaste made it out like she intentionally tried to do him harm. Some might have been made to feel guilty over this, but Belle was a bit brighter than that. She never allowed someone to make her feel guilty over something she did not intend to do. So, after Beaste had his rant and humiliated her, she did her best to stand up straight and look as dignified as possible. Still, people around them stared at both with a good bit of shock and disdain. "Very well then, Mr. Beaste," she said. "I'll pay for my items and take my leave." She only hoped she could return to the market again after this. It would be difficult to find another place to buy food in the future after all. Belle paid for her items and was on her way out when she saw a cat that looked like Aesop wandering about. Upon first sight, she swore it was him. "Aesop, did you follow me here?" she said, trying not to sound upset at who she thought was her pet, but not being able to help it due to how she was just treated by Beaste. The cat ran into a storage room and Belle followed. She stepped in a good ways to finally see that it was not her cat after all. In fact, the stray hissed and her and bolted off. ADAM LEON BEASTE |

After Adam's blowing up at the woman he immediately regretted it. When she responded to him politely and said she would pay for her items and take her leave, he even began to feel guilty. So he stepped away from her, trying to think of a way to apologize. However, before he could think of anything he watched as she seemed to run into a storage room. At first he thought she was trying to steal something from her, but hearing her talking to the cat and seeing the cat hiss at her and runaway as he walked into the doorway, causing him to bump into a book case he realized he had been mistaken.
Before he had a chance to say anything the bookcase fell over knocking the door closed, and bumping a shelf which fell right towards Belle. He hurried to move in front of it, the shelf falling on to him. Once the other shelves fell and settled, effectively closing them in to the storage room, he let out a groan. The shelf had landed right on him. Luckily he had knocked Belle out of the way, but his leg got lodged under it. "Are you okay?" he asked groaning as he looked over at her.

Well Belle felt very foolish. The more she thought about it, the more the cat didn't look like Aesop. Her mind was a bit off though since Beaste had been so cold to her. She sighed and was about to leave when she turned to see the disrespectful fellow right behind her. Perfect... now he was going to call the authorities because he assumed she was stealing something from the storage room. However, before she could say anything to him, he shoved her. She fell over and hit her head on the way and was out for a moment. When she awoke, she saw that a bookcase had fell over and was on his leg. She also noticed that she was trapped inside the room with this man... Well this was just wonderful. She sighed when he asked if she was okay. She was so upset now that she didn't bother to consider as to whether not he was sincere. "Am I okay?" she said. "I'm now trapped in a room with a man who spoke to me as if I were a foolish child! A man who embarrassed me in front of a number of people over an accident! And after I apologized and offered to help you! You, sir... well your last name fits you! You're a beast alright!" Belle then looked over at the book case. Even though Beaste was cold to her, she didn't want him to be crippled. She stepped over and with what strength she could muster she managed to lift the heavy case just enough for him to pull his leg free. ADAM LEON BEASTE |

Adam looked around, trying to figure out how to get himself out from under the clutter that had his leg pinned. His gaze shot back to Belle as she started losing it on him. He knew that she was right, he had been a beast and had been just absolutely terrible to her in the market. It was why he had followed after her after all. However, being yelled at by her was not helping things though, it just caused him to want to lash back out at her. As she lifted the bookcase he carefully dragged himself out from under it.
"How dare you?! I came here to APOLOGIZE TO YOU! IF YOU HADN'T BEEN CHASING SOME CAT BACK HERE WE WOULDN'T BE STUCK HERE!!" he yelled. Immediately he was embarrassed for his words. He looked down at his leg assessing the damage while also not looking at her so he could be calm and finish what he was saying. "I was trying to chase after you to apologize. I was very rude to you back there and I should not have yelled. I am sorry." he grumbled, managing to be calm enough to not yell it at her.

This time, Belle didn't flinch as much when Adam yelled. It was well established that he had a temper. Plus Belle was fuming angry. She wanted to tell him to stuff it. However, before she could, she noticed that he looked quite embarrassed by how he was acting. Well perhaps he wasn't completely beastly. It seemed he had something of a conscience. Still, she was upset with him and wanted to get away from him as soon as possible. She sighed when he apologized. It sounded about half way sincere. Otherwise, she might have forgave him. She had a good heart after all. "Look... let's just have a look at your leg," she said. "I'm not doctor, but perhaps I can help." She looked it over and rubbed it a bit. "If there's no immediate intense pain from me doing this, then it's probably not broken. I have something you can take for what pain is there in my bag. It's a natural remedy." She fumbled through her bag and as she did so, a lovely rose fell out, one she had picked and was going to place in water at her shop. She picked it up, but a single petal fell from it. Adam winced when she rubbed his leg a bit. "I'm fine!" he said grimacing. He was not one who liked to show weakness. He looked to her as she moved to her bag to grab what it was that she was talking about for his pain. "I'm fine, I don't need i..." he said but stopped mid sentence as he saw the rose fall out.
He watched Belle pick up the rose and the petal fall. He stared at the petal for a moment. For some reason he felt very sad looking at it. Though he had no idea why. He looked back up at Belle for a moment and for some reason his heart pounded seeing her. He knew he cared for her, felt like he had for a long time, though he wasn't sure how that was possible, they had just met after all.
The only thing he knew for sure is that he wanted to hold her, so he crawled towards her and took her hand carefully, the one the rose was in, and pulled her into his arms, hugging her tightly but not so tight as to hurt her. Then when he realized what he had just done he let her go carefully. "I-I'm sorry, I don't know why I just did that." he said feeling embarrassed.

Belle rolled her eyes at Adam's stubborn attitude. He was a curious one. One moment he was acting like a typical man, no better than that creepy Gaston fellow from the tavern. The next he seemed calm... almost gentle and kind. She wondered if he had some sort of mental disorder. That wasn't a pleasant thought, being locked away with someone like that. Whatever the case, she wasn't going to let him snap at her. "You certainly aren't fine," she said. "Otherwise you wouldn't be acting like an overgrown child!"When Belle picked up the rose, she noticed how he watched it. There was that sweet and gentle look again. Just as she was wondering how long it would last before he got angry again, he did something very strange. He moved over, took her... and hugged her. Belle wanted to protest... but she found the hug comforting. She found him comforting. She looked into his eyes and formed a smile as she blushed. She then frowned when he apologized. "It's quite alright..." she said. "Ahem... what I mean to say is given the situation, perhaps it is understandable that we act a bit odd." The blush was still there. Why was she acting this way towards someone she not only didn't know, but detested a few moments before? "Look, we might be in here for a little while, so let's make the most of it. We can start by ceasing this bickering between us. You seem to be nicer than you act at times, and I think it might work in your favor to act that way more often. In return, perhaps I can forget this misconception I have of you that you're... well a Beast. Deal?" ADAM LEON BEASTE |
