Evelyn had made her mark since becoming ruler or Wonderland. Well... co-ruler. Malefic... er Malia was co-ruler in secret. Together, they had showed their power... not their dark magic... but their power as rulers over the people. After all, why cast spells when one can come up with high taxes? There were lots of non-magical and legal ways to keep people in line. The ays were of course legal because Evelyn had made them legal. Life was too much fun. it was particularly fun watching old enemies show her respect because they had no clue as to who they were and what Evelyn once was to them.
Evelyn tried to play it fair though. She didn't want an uprising. In fact for the most part she allowed the people to do what they wished, as long as it wasn't against her. Not only that, she even tried to gain their trust by having them come to her with any little problem they had. There was an ulterior motive to this though. By hearing their problems, she learned of goings-on in the village. She learned of far bigger problems, ones that needed solved before they got too big. Also, she could manipulate the right people with false aid in order to gain them as allies.

"Greetings my Queen." Magus greeted as he entered the room. "Might I be of service to thee?"
Magus had bowed as he spoke. The day was slow and dragging truthfully he hadn't left the palace due to knowing the Queen could call upon him at a moment's notice if she wished. Though why make her waste time when he could walk himself to her? A task of sorts would be nice though he did hope she wouldn't send him out to the village. It was just so awkward out there, hard to feel comfortable. Though he would go if she wished. The whole time he awaited a response he remained bowed, even had gone to kneeling before her.

No one. No one had come to her to her to ask for aid or advice. The lack of attention made her uncomfortable. Wasn't she supposed to be adored by her subjects? Wasn't she supposed to be looked up to? This made her paranoia rise. If they weren't coming to her, perhaps they were conversing among themselves. Perhaps they were planning things. Truth be told, she had been uneasy since the Curse was cast and only she and Maleficent kept their memories. She wondered if the Curse not working one hundred percent caused something else to happen. She cringed at such thoughts. She didn't want this whole beautiful plan ruined. She then watched at Magus Glass approached her. She was glad to have him by her side again, even though he did recall being her Magic Mirror at one time. He still proved useful, especially as a spy. She would need him today. She watched as he knelt by her. "You may rise," she said. "I need you on your feet and on alert today. Something is off with the villagers. Here I offer them the golden opportunity to come to me and have my grace bestowed upon them... and not one shows up. Does that also strike you as odd, Magus?" MAGUS GLASS

Standing up, he listened fully to the Queen's words. She had a right to be concerned, her subjects weren't paying her respect it sounded like. Well at least not on the level the Queen wished. It was certainly odd, why not come forth when you were able? Course he did dislike the notion of him having to go out into the village. Oh well, his queen wanted it from him an thus he would go out there as instructed.
"It does My Queen." Magus answered. "Perhaps they think thee wish to not be disturbed an they want the kingdom to thrive?"

The Queen sat back and listened to Magus' suggestion that maybe they didn't want to disturb her. It was a pleasant thought, she supposed. When they had come in the past, many of their requests were quite petty, some downright foolish. Several got on her nerves and made her wish she could reveal that she possessed magic to them... in the worst way possible of course. Perhaps there was the possibility that they had just decided not to annoy her anymore... No, that couldn't be it. The Queen had to be cautious. She couldn't think of things so positively. She turned and gave Magus a cold look. "Or perhaps they want to have reign over this kingdom themselves," she said. " I can't take any chances, Magus. We can't avoid a rebellion to strike us out of nowhere. We must taken action, but carefully. If they are plotting, we can't let them know that we know." Her lips then curled into a smile. "Though if they are rebelling, the would reveal their plan to a kindred spirit... someone close to the Queen who claims he is tired of her treatment of him... one who wants her reign to end more than anyone..." She stroked Magus' cheek. "I know how loyal you are to me, dear Magus... but I want you to be quite the opposite... at least in their eyes."MAGUS GLASS
