Alana was born the second daughter of King Triton and Queen Athena, only one year after her older sister Attina. She was referred to as the 'spare' for most of her childhood, something she truly despised. Her mother used to tell her not to pay attention to it, that she was just as important as Attina. Well, Alana didn't want to be second in line. The rest of her sister had more liberty to enjoy their lives, while she had to think of her public appearance. Even as a small mermaid, she grew to resent her title, she knew she would never live up to her mother's perfect image. That resentment faded once Queen Athena died. Alana and her sisters were forbidden from swimming up to shore and Alana understood why. It was a dangerous place, unexpected and scary. She chose to honor her mother's commitment to her kingdom and let go of her resentment toward her duties.

Atlantica was a sullen kingdom without music, the days and years dragged on until Ariel showed their father how much his ban affected not only his daughters but his kingdom. Alana was more than ecstatic when they were able to sing once again, although her love of music wasn't as significant as it was to some of her sisters. Alana's true passion was tending her garden and making special beauty treatments from it. She made her own face masks, creams, and make up. Sure, sometimes her sisters would tease her about her wearing kelp on her face every night, but she knew what she was doing. Alana was also somewhat of a party girl in Antlantica, especially in her later years. She'd dance the night away with her friend Pearl, who could clearly out dance (out fin??) any mermaid in the sea. It was a huge contrast to the shy mermaid she had been in her younger years. Although she still enjoyed tending to her sea garden, she was growing up to be quite the mesmerizing mermaid and the merman around were aware of the fact. Many expressed their interest in her, but Alana's heart was set on someone. They were to be married, but she never made it to the altar. Instead, she found herself in a whole new world.

Alana's exuberance was not left behind in Atlantica when the curse hit. Wonderland was a new adventure she was inclined to explore. It was as if Eden didn't miss a beat, she picked up her life and made a home for herself. Her love of cosmetics ensured her a good fortune in this land. She set up a small shop in the village and soon, girls all over the land flocked to her store. She often joked about her magical, secret ingredients, but it's more simple than she'd like to admit. She found that the sea did wonders to one's skin and she capitalized on that fact. Quite often she finds herself humming to a lullaby, the words long forgotten in another land and another life. Eden does wonder where she originated from but there's no use to dwelling on the past, especially since she has a growing business to run. If answers land on her doorstep, she will clutch it. However, life has been more than generous to her in Wonderland and she's not about to ruin her life. She quite likes it here.
