Baymax was created by Tadashi Hamada as a healthcare providing robot nurse. Tadashi wanted to change the world and thought he could do that with Baymax.
[break][break]
Baymax first meets Hiro when Tadashi took him to his school. Baymax was activated after Tadashi ripped tape off of Hiro’s arm. Baymax gives him a brief diagnosis then deactivates after Hiro says he is satisfied with his healthcare.
[break][break]
Baymax is reactivated again, this time in the Hamada house hold and when Hiro accidentally stubs his toe. Baymax greets Hiro and attempts to help him. when Hiro doesn’t want Baymax around he tries to shove him back into his idle state but ends up slipping off and falling to the floor. Hiro finds one of his microbots while he was on the floor and thinks its defective. However, Baymax notices that it is trying to go somewhere and when Hiro tells him to go, Baymax does.
[break][break]
Baymax walks to an abandoned warehouse. They enter through a window and in order to fit inside, Baymax had to deflate himself. where inside, they find that someone was making more microbots. Just then, the microbots attack them and they were being controlled by a man in a kabuki mask. The two escape and go to report it to the police. While at the station, Baymax made repairs by placing tape over the holes in his arm. Before Baymax could say what happened to them, his battery starts to drain so Hiro rushes him home to charge. Once on his charger, Baymax asks Hiro about Tadashi. Hiro tells him Tadashi is dead and when Baymax sees that something is wrong with Hiro, he downloads files on human emotion allowing him to comfort Hiro.
[break][break]
Hiro realizes that the fire was no accident and it was up to them to stop the man in the kabuki mask. Baymax is then given an upgrade, now knowing karate. He is then given a suit of armor from Hiro and taught how to fist bump. The pair then go to the docks when Tadashi’s former classmates arrive and they catch the attention of the man in the kabuki mask.
[break][break]
They nearly escape by driving into the bay. Fred then takes them all back to his place where Hiro and the team are warmed by Baymax. Fred then says that the only plausible person who is behind it all is Alistair Krei. Hiro designs superhero outfits for all of them and they end up on an abandoned island. There, they run into the man in the kabuki mask again and discover the portals. They discover the man behind the mask is professor Callaghan, who they believed to be dead, and Hiro commands Baymax to kill him. Baymax refuses and Hiro takes out the healthcare chip. Baymax becomes a mindless killing machine and tries to kill Callaghan but Honey Lemon puts his original chip back in.
[break][break]
Hiro commands Baymax to go after him but Baymax told him his scanner was broken. Baymax and Hiro return to Hiro’s garage where Hiro repairs his helmet. Hiro attempts to open the port again to take out the chip but Baymax doesn’t allow him. He watches as Hiro breaks down and Baymax says that Tadashi is here. He plays a video for Hiro and Hiro seems to be more comforted. The team arrives and shows them the footage they found which revealed that Callaghan’s daughter Abigail was killed in the accident that resulted in the closure of Krei’s facility.
[break][break]
The team then goes to Krei tech to stop Callaghan. After they stop him, Hiro and Baymax go through the portal to save Abagail because Baymax scanned her and said she was still alive but in stasis. The debris from the building hit Baymax and destroys all his armor. In order to save Hiro and Abagail, Baymax used the rocket in the fist to blast them to safety and sacrificed himself for them.
[break][break]
Little did Hiro know, Baymax also stuck the healthcare chip in the fist as well. Hiro was able to rebuild Baymax and they go back to protecting the city. during the credits, it shows Baymax sticking alongside Hiro and his friends.
[break][break]
After the curse, Baymax found himself in Wonderland with the name of Maxwell Gavin Bay.
[break][break][break]
Baymax is a highly intelligent robot. He is also very knowledgable when it comes to medics. He is also devoted and extremely caring for his patient. He can be a bit naïve, when he was a robot he didn’t really understand human emotion. Baymax is calm in dangerous situations and takes his time to think things through. He is also curious and tends to get distracted by this curiosity.
[break] [break]
After meeting Hiro, Baymax began to change, picking up human emotions and eventually gains a personality of his own and is able to form a bond with Hiro. He is very protective of his friends and would do anything for them.
[break] [break]
After the curse, Baymax, or rather Maxwell Gavin Bay is kind hearted in nature and also very sweet to others. He is still very protective of the people he cares about. He also is a bit of a goof, a fun loving person.
