Post by RYDER CHARLES NIGHTFURY on Apr 10, 2015 2:38:41 GMT
Ryder “Charlie” Nightfury woke up this morning more excited than anything. Today he was promised to have the whole day to himself which meant that he was going to go out and explore the woods, which was something that his grandparents didn’t like him doing, but Charlie was no longer a kid anymore. He was grown, twenty years old grown. He quickly rushed to put on a pair of dark pants and a dark shirt with a hoodie over it. he didn’t bother to fix his dark hair with light blue tips because he figured that it was just going to get messy anyway. He grabbed a small backpack that had a sketch book and a pencil in it and ran out the door before anyone can say anything to stop him.
Charlie is a free spirit. He knew that from the start. Every bit of him didn’t want to be cooped up anywhere for too long. He wanted to roam, get lost on purpose just so that he could find his way back. That didn’t scare him at all. The boy ran into the woods and stared up the trees that towered over him. a smile appeared on his face. The forest was also darker, no light seemed to get in. still, that didn’t scare him one bit.
Charlie continued to walk along the path and looked up once more. He decided that climbing up the trees would be a better idea. He started to climb up the one tree. Little did he know that there was another person up there with him. Charlie sat down on a branch and just stared out at the dark forest debating on where to go next.

The tree Jackson had slept in was shaking slightly. Jackson moaned, waking up and looking over to see a boy on a branch not far away. "Hey, you, find your own tree, man," Jackson called over, sitting up to rub his eyes awake. He looked back over at the kid... he looked nice, after all. Jack sighed, using his cane to swing over to a branch close to the guy and took a seat.
"Sorry about that. I was sleeping, so I'm a bit cranky. What brings you out here, huh?" Jackson asked, raising an eyebrow at the boy. He was used to people exploring around here, hence why he usually slept so high up. This kid had a lot more nerves than others, it seemed. Jack was a bit of an explorer himself, but mostly due to the fact that he was trying to figure out who did this to them and how to get out of there! RYDER CHARLES NIGHTFURY

The dark haired boy continued to stare off into the rest of the woods. He knew it was a very large place in wonderland but up close, large just seems to be an understatement. He brought his bag out from behind him and started to pull out his pencil and sketch book. He continued to look around and started mapping the forest, something that he had always done. He loved doing things like this.
A voice had startled him and Charlie dropped his pencil. He looked down to see where it felt and he then looked over at the other guy in the tree, his eyes narrowed at him. He watched the other guy use a cane to swing over to him and sat down. Charlie’s eyes were still narrowed at him. He turned to face him.
The other apologized. Charlie’s expression still remained the same. “exploring, I guess.” Charlie answered him. “just something I enjoy doing.” Charlie responded with a shrug. The expression lifted off his face as he then looked at the other in a confused manner. “why are you sleeping in a tree?” he asked curiously. “arent you afraid you’re going to fall off the branch?”

Jackson understood the need to explore, and nodded. "Oh," he said as the kid asked him why he slept in the tree and if he was afraid of falling. "Actually, no. I'm not scared. I can situate myself pretty well and I don't move in my sleep much I find," he explained with an amused smile. Yes, it was strange to be sleeping in a tree, but he didn't really care. He was making a statement, he was staying away from that village and living in a house like everyone else. Getting comfortable here was not in his plans.
"I'm a bit of an explorer myself, actually. Usually sleep in a different place every night. Where do you stay? The Village?" he asked, deciding it was worth talking to this kid if he was bold enough to explore alone and climb up Wonderlands dangerous trees.

He looked back at the other guy in the tree with him. he said that he wasn’t scared about sleeping in the tree and nodded, like he understood. Charlie didn’t move much in his sleep either. Charlie was then confused as to why he was sleeping in a tree too. “so then why are you sleeping in a tree anyway?” Charlie asked him, his facial expression changed now. he seemed more relaxed now, more in his usual mood. It was rare that he was like this around a stranger. Charlie knew that he really didn’t open up to many people. this guy, there was just something about him that Charlie liked. He also knew that it could change quickly too.
The guy said he was a bit of an explorer himself and that he usually stays in a different place each night. That sort of answered his question about why the guy was sleeping in a tree. He then asked Charlie if Charlie stayed in the village. “yeah with my grandparents, but not all the time. I prefer to be outside though.” he said to him with a small shrug.
"I'm Charlie. Who are you?"

Jack chuckled as the kid asked why he was sleeping in a tree. "Well... I don't really want the people who took my memory to think I'm okay with it. To think I'm happy here. So, I'm refusing to get a home or a job or anything like that," he explained. He wanted to tell as many people what his strike was about, hopefully if enough people joined him something might happen. However, he also was sure something bad could happen if they did fight back... well, he was ready for that. So, he lived with family. That was... nice, actually. "That sounds great, actually," he admitted. "I'm not sure if I have any family here yet. I'm not sure If I had any at all, actually," he admitted. "Oh, I'm Jackson. Nice to meet you Charlie," he offered a hand for him to shake. RYDER CHARLES NIGHTFURY

Charlie listened to him talk. What he said made a lot of sense. He kind of felt the same way. He knew that something was missing and this world felt wrong. He had memories of growing up here even though he felt as if he didn’t belong. He always felt like that. He felt he was supposed to do greater things instead of just being here, stuck, unable to fully leave. “sounds logical I guess.” Charlie said to him with a small shrug.
He then told him that it sounded great to have a family. He then admitted he wasn’t sure if he had a family or not at all. Charlie felt bad for him. As wrong as him having a family felt and the feeling that something was missing bothered him, he felt like it was nice to have people that cared about him. He didn’t really want to know what it was like to be lonely. “You have to have someone; I mean everyone has someone who cares about them in some way. Even if it is just a friend.” Charlie said to him.
Charlie shook Jackson’s hand. “so what other places here have you explored?” Charlie asked, showing Jackson the map he was making.

Jackson knew most people didn't really agree with his whole 'going on strike' philosophy. In fact, most people thought it best to settle down. Still, he appreciated Charlies tone and words about the logical nature of it all. He didn't pressure further, however, for he felt he had made his point.
"Yeah...friend. I'm sure I had friends in the past life," he added. Friends sounded much more possible then family. He was sure that he didn't have any sort of family here. Quite positive actually that it made him a little sad. "Did you find your real family? As in, people you knew before all this?" Jack asked, for clarification.
Jack leaned in as Charlie lifted a map, "wow, nice work! Well, I've seen the Pool of Tears, quite a few fields... have you been to the singing flower patch?"

Charles tilted his head at Jackson when he started to talk about maybe having friends in a past life. He was then asked if he found his real family, people he knew before this. Charles didn’t exactly know. He just merely shrugged. He knew that something was wrong but the young boy had a problem with telling the difference. He did have a feeling that he was missing something, someone who was important to him. Whatever it was, it was really close to him and he really wanted to figure it out. Maybe that’s why he was exploring so much. Maybe it was all him searching for what was missing. “I just feel like something or someone is missing.” He stated, not really knowing how to explain it. "I cant really explain it..." he added wondering if Jackson felt the same way.
Charlie smiled when Jackson complimented his work. He then said that he had seen the pool of tears and fields and then asked if Charlie had been to the flower patch. “I have heard of it. Haven’t gone that way yet.” He stated. “have you?” he then asked curiously.

Of course the boy felt like something was missing. This world was completely mad, and there was nothing to keep them on track. Jack had to push that thought aside though, otherwise he'd just get angry again. "Yeah, well, I feel like a lot is missing," he added, for the sake of showing Ryder that he was on the same page, at least.
"Yeah, it's amazing. I can show it to you!" Jack added, smiling brightly as he pulled his staff from the tree it was hanging on and used it to swing down the tree, "you're going to love it. It's kind of really creepy, and a little dangerous, just don't let them think you're a weed!" he explained as he made his way toward the ground.
