[break] [break]Nobody in Wonderland these days quite knows exactly where the Queen came from, because that is exactly how she likes it. All ways, after all, are her way, and her way does not include tolerance for idle gossip of her history.
[break] [break]The truth is, she had a domineering personality from the start. She was a loud, bossy, obnoxious child who learned early on how to manipulate the people around her to get what she wanted. She was prone to throwing loud, violent tantrums and her parents, frankly, just did not know what to do with her. They weren’t cut out to handle her properly and as such, they just gave in to her every whim to avoid the hassle. The result was an extremely egotistical little girl who became determined to be in charge of, well, everything.
[break][break]
[break] [break]She was born in Wonderland, but not into royalty, exactly. Her father was high up in the royal guard at the palace, you see. While she was a foul-tempered, moody little brat, she was also exceptionally intelligent, and as she grew, she watched carefully. She learned the ways of soldiers and how palace life worked. She also watched how royalty was treated. She thought it intolerably stupid that people could just be born into the throne, and thought she would be much better suited for ruling. Therefore, she became determined, and began to plot.
[break][break]
[break] [break]She started with the other children. She targeted the weak, fishing out their deepest secrets and fears, using threats and if necessary, violence to achieve their loyalty. She began to build what she considered an army, begun to train them to submit to her and give in to her every whim just as she had manipulated her parents. She had a tendency for volatile mood swings, and could be sweet and charming one moment, while furious and homicidal the next. But she uses these tendencies well in order to get what she wants. She seduced some, blackmailed some, even beat up some herself. She was tough, smart, and attractive enough in her youth to work whatever angle she felt would be most beneficial in the moment.
[break][break]
[break] [break]When she became old enough and strong enough, she forcibly took over the throne, beheading any who opposed her. She named her best and most loyal knight her Knave, and kept him close by her side as she ruled over Wonderland. He was one that she seduced early on in her plotting, and he remains wrapped tightly around her finger. As a Queen, she allows others to do most of her dirty work, and fell into the habit of simply ordering execution to any who made her cross. She has no tolerance for weakness or disloyalty. She demands perfection from her subjects, and harshly punishes anyone who disobeys her. Failure is not an option when serving the queen. Neither is insulting her in any way, which is pretty easy to do, considering her intense sensitivity.
[break][break]
[break] [break]Now, Rosalyn has become rather confused. She woke up in a rose garden one day with absolutely no idea who she was. So she began to wander through the forest, but she keeps circling back to the garden. Some things seem familiar to her—the palace, a croquet field, the color red, particularly bright red roses—although there seem to be something funny about those roses… She can’t place anything though, and doesn’t have a clue what her role within them is. Naturally, while she no longer has the throne and quite the big-headedness of the Queen, her personality is still ultimately the same. She finds her inexplicable sense of loss infuriating and it causes her to lash out on anyone and anything at a moment’s notice. She simply must find a place where she belongs, before she completely loses her head.

I'm the Queen of Hearts, dear...

it is far better to be feared than loved

if I lose my temper, you lose your head

so she's mad, you see. but perhaps not quite as mad as she appears

you may call it nonsense if you like, but I've heard nonsense, compared with which that would be as sensible as a dictionary!

...did you really think I'd be so careless as to keep my heart where everyone else does?
