A touch of Cirrus. A dash of Nimbostratus. A pinch of Cumulus. [break][break]
Zeus swirled the clouds together and you were created. A winged horse — a pegasus. [break][break]
You were the only one of your race. The first one of your kind. A winged pioneer and the prince’s best friend. You and Hercules got along like two feathers from the same bird as soon as you were introduced into each other’s lives. At least, for the short time that you were together. [break][break]
The night that you first met your dearest Hercules was the only night that you got to spend with him in his childhood. Taken from you by Hades’ minions, Hercules disappeared from your life, leaving you to fend for yourself. For nearly eighteen years, it was you against the world. You flew by yourself — made your own rules, and only came to the call of the almighty Zeus. He was like a father to you, Hercules your brother, and sometimes, it felt as if Zeus was trying to fill the gap with you. [break][break]
You didn’t understand much. Zeus made sure you never forgot you were just a “magnificent horse with the brain of a bird,” but you were his. You became the alternative for the child that he had lost. [break][break]
You were a jokester, a trickster, a ditz, quirky, the class clown of all the Mt. Olympian parties. You made people laugh and marched to the beat of your own drum. But it got lonely being the only one like you. Among gods and goddesses, you were a creation of the clouds and sometimes you felt like the clouds. [break][break]
You would fly away for days on end, seeing the world, seeing the sights — but something was always missing. Hercules. He had been like your brother and there was no forgetting him. [break][break]
It was not until the day that Hercules came to the Temple of Zeus that you were finally reunited. He had found his place in the world and it was time for you to regain yours: by his side. Through adventure large or small, it was you who remained with him. You were his way of transportation, his confidant and his friend. He was your everything. [break][break]
Until she came around. [break][break]
You had a certain amount of distaste for Megara — although it wasn’t your fault. You were bred for Herc and often got jealous if he paid anyone more attention than you. Pain and Panic — you’ve always hated them — they lured you away from your post by portraying a female pegasus, the only other one of your kind that you had seen. You fell for it, but only because you were intrigued. But it was Meg who came to your rescue and convinced you to go find Phil to save your beloved Hercules. [break][break]
After that, your hostility eventually righted itself as she grew on both you…and Herc apparently. [break][break]
In the end, Herc chose to stay mortal and you chose to stay with him. Because the world wouldn’t be right without him. You’re his loyal steed and you’ll always be his best friend. [break][break]
… and sister. [break][break]
The curse hit at the end of happily ever after, jerking you, Herc and Meg all from your world and into Wonderland. [break][break]
You don’t remember what you were before and even if you did, you’re not sure that you would believe it. Quirky and verging on idiotic, sometimes, you are now Peggy Spiros — the human. Once a flying horse, now a secretary at the WPA you try your hardest to make everyone happy and do you job, but sometimes it can get a little overwhelming. Your brother HERCULES always has the right answer. You look up to him while still trying to live your own life. [break][break]
You like to pretend you know how to make the perfect cup of coffee (as you shovel 14 sugar cubes into the dispenser), and how to file paperwork (as you anti-alphabetize by putting all the ‘P’s’ first because HELLO, Peggy starts with P). You spend your weekends rehearsing your whistling opera (because one day those queens are going to invite you to their castle) and running through the forest at top speed (is there anything more wonderful? Maybe flying…). [break][break]
[Alternatively: Once upon a time, Peggy was a flying horse. The end.]
