Lilo snuck into her home as quietly as she could. She had spent her day cooped up in the library looking up all the chemicals she needed to develop her camera and proceeded to spend the night going from shop to shop. She was bound to find the chemicals she needed but it was taking forever. Most of the shops had closed by the time she left the library anyway.
Lilo was wired from being cooped up for too long so when she arrived back at her home she hoped someone was awake. The living room was empty as was the other rooms on the main floor. Lilo tip toed to the stairs and made her way down the hallway. Every door was closed with the exception of her room and the bathroom.
"Mer-" Lilo knocked as low as she could on Merida's door in hopes of not waking anyone up. "Merida, are you up?" She knocked again. Usually Merida could be found in her room on rare occasions, she enjoyed the outdoor life and Lilo couldn't blame her. Between having so many people under one roof and enjoying the freedom to explore, the outdoors were the best place to be. It was now late at night and Lilo had reason to believe Merida would be home. At least she hoped she was home MERIDA OWENA DARROW . |

Another day of exploring was under her belt. Merida had been outdoors all day long. She didn’t know what she was really doing out there, to be honest. She felt like she was searching for something, but what, she had no idea. It was like something was missing, but she couldn’t figure out what exactly that thing would be. It was surreal. In any case, the day had been a long one. She’d slipped in by sunset, at least. Her housemates were, for once, nowhere to be seen, so after grabbing a quick bite to eat, Merida just headed to her room to relax and hunker down for another day to arrive. She spent a few hours tinkering and fine-tuning her bow, then carved a few designs into her bedpost before deciding to call it a night. She was tired, after all, and eventually she would end up whittling away all of her furniture if she wasn’t careful. As she drifted to sleep, Merida found herself in a dream. It was wonderful; she was astride a beautiful horse, with endless horizons stretching everywhere around her. There was a forested area off to the side, but it was far in the distance and they weren’t headed anywhere near it. However, in this dream she lost her sense of time and location, and soon she and the horse were plodding through a heavily wooded area. They stopped in front of a strange formation of stones. There were several rocks, all roughly rectangular and arranged in a circle. Curiously, she dismounted the steed and slowly approached them. The atmosphere was strange here. It felt like… magic? But it couldn’t be. There was no such thing. She extended her hand to touch the almost smooth surface of one of the stones. After what felt like an eternity, her fingers were barely a hair’s breadth away from it… Merida sat straight up in bed, her eyes wide and her chest heaving a bit as she tried to catch her breath. Though the sound was quiet, it was enough to break the tension of her dream and bring her abruptly into reality. After a few moments to take everything in, she registered that it was Lilo at her door. Haphazardly she ran her hands through her messy hair to at least try to smooth it down before opening her room up and inviting her housemate in. “C'mon in. What’s going on?” she asked, grinning and extending her free arm behind her to indicate the open seating on her recently vacated bed. LILO KAIPO PELEKAIwords423

Lilo looked up and down the hallway in hopes that she had not woken any of the other housemates. She was honestly expecting a door to fly open and reveal a grumpy housemate giving her the stink eye but that didn't happen. The door in front of her nose opened quickly and stole Lilo's attention. Behind the door was Merida who nicely welcomed her into her room.
The brunette happily trotted deep into the room as she pulled her purse from across her chest and on to the end of Mer's bed. "I spent all day in the library-" She began as she peeked out of the window. "But all my work wasn't for not. I know how to get my pictures now but the problem is I don't know where to get all the stuff to do so. Apparently it's called developing and I need all sorts of chemicals." Lilo began rambling on about her camera, "And I need a dark room or something-" she turned around to see Merida, her hair a little messier than normal.
She lifted her left hand and pointed at her, "Were you sleeping?" Lilo tilted her head slightly before opening her mouth again, "I'm so sorry! I can leave so you can get some sleep- I'm sure you're pooped!" Quickly she leaned over and grabbed her bag, throwing it over her shoulder. Lilo hadn't had a real conversation with anyone all day but she was sure she could wait to tell Merida until the morning. "You're always out exploring, you need sleep and I just interrupted. I'm sorry, Mer." Lilo's hand gripped the strap of her bag as she gave Merida a 'genuine sorry nod', or at least that's what Lilo called it. MERIDA OWENA DARROW . |
