the weakest but the brightest. ‘Listen, I don't care if you're an orphan. That doesn't change anything. And you don't know me; you don't know what I can do. I keep my promises, no matter what. Maybe if you stopped and talked to me, you would figure that out. Caddie would you just – You can't run away from your problems, ma'am. Sorry to break it to ya…’
Tears threatened to run down Caddie’s cheeks, she shook her head, furiously wiping at them with her hands, though the rain was slowly removing the tears, the salty and the rain melting together. When she noticed her fell, her eyes widened “Oh my god!” she said in slight fear that he hurt himself, especially when he spit something out as he stood in front of her. Her eyes were still wide, fear pushing through her veins as she stood there watching him. Their eyes met.
‘Are you even angry about getting in trouble? I don't understand why you're so pissed. Is it because of the running thing? What did I do? You act like you know me but you don't…you haven't even tried. And no matter what you say, where you're from, who you're from, it doesn't change who you are. And you know what, I'd love to learn who you are if you would just let me!’
Caddie let out a deep breath, closing her eyes. She pursed her lips. “Sorry.” she whispered lightly, before her eyes slowly opened and she looked at Dash again. “Sorry.” she said a little louder. “How about we start over…I just…I don’t like getting close to people…whenever I do they let me down.” she said before stepping forward, she thrust her hand out before plastering on a smile. “Caddie Amelia Gilbert. Seventeen. Orphan. The Brains.” she said, her tone light and airy.

a falling star fell from your heart. Dash smiled in success as Caddie finally gave in, and gave him a second chance. Now he could show her he wasn't a complete jerk. Taking her hand, Dash shook it with glee. "Nice to meet you. The name is Dashiell Parr. But you can call me Dash." He said, with a nod before releasing her hand. Now what? "I can walk you home if you like..except I kind of don't have an umbrella." He offered as he looked between the raining sky and Caddie with a meek expression. "You know what, I can totally make up for this..well rain check. I can take you to this cool place in the woods. Or this really good place for food. My sister took me their once." The young boy spoke with enthusiasm as they walked side by side through the pathways, the wet ground leaving tracks as they walked. "They have a bunch of games you can play, and there's music. And you can get free food after a while. My sister knows the guy that owns it." Dash took a much needed deep breath, letting his face go from pink to it's normal color. Dash was usually never this nervous, but he just didn't want to screw up with Caddie again. He didn't understand why it was such a big deal for him-but it was. 244 WORDS FOR @cadpig ― notes go in here.

the weakest but the brightest. Would she regret giving him a second chance? Most likely. Will she have to deal with consequences for this action? You could bet on it. But for now, she’d deal with it. A fresh start, of sorts. Forgive and forget, she’d try it…for now, but one slip up and she was back to being angry with him. She put on a small smile as he said it was nice to meet her and introduced himself again. He then moved on to offering her a walking partner of course he didn’t have an umbrella. This of course caused Caddie to let out a little laugh, “The rain doesn’t bother me…I like it.” she said spinning around in the rain; it ran through her hair, soaking the curls so that they were a mess of straightness. She was going to have a tough time fixing her hair in the morning that was for sure.

She shook her head “No more woods, not for a long time…but I would be fine with this place with food and games and music.” she said with a smile as they walked side by side, she glanced at him noticing that he seemed nervous and that made her look down at the ground.
