[attr="class","LD1textarea"] Fauna was the Green Fairy, one of a trio that included the Red Fairy, Flora, and the Blue Fairy, Merryweather. Of the three, Fauna was the most merciful and sympathetic. While the other two showed their disdain towards the Fairy-Turned-Sorceress, Maleficent, Fauna took pity on her for what she had become. This overwhelming kindness of course extended to others, humans and animals alike. In Wonderland, she is equally kind as Fauna Emerald Newthatch, always doing noble deeds in the Village. More on that later. [break][break]
Fauna and the other two Fairies had lived for some time, how long no one quite knew. Fairies aged a good bit differently from others after all. They went about the world doing good deeds and giving blessings to various newborn children. They were also beloved friends of the noble king, Stefon. It was no surprise that they were invited to the christening of his daughter, Aurora. Fauna, a lover of music, blessed Aurora with the Gift of Song. However, Maleficent then showed up and cast her curse on the infant as revenge against Stefon. On her Sixteenth Birthday, Aurora was to prick her finger of a spinning wheel and die. Fortunately, Merryweather was able to still give her blessing, allowing Aurora to escape death by merely sleeping until shew as awakened by true love's kiss.[break][break]
However, even with Merryweather's blessing, Fauna and the others felt Aurora was still in danger. They agreed to raise her until she was sixteen, and the curse no longer endangered her. They posed as three mortal homemakers and claimed they were Aurora's aunts. They also renamed Aurora Briar Rose, hoping she would be hidden from Maleficent until after her sixteenth birthday. For the next sixteen years, Briar Rose was safe and happy in a little cottage in the woods, unaware of who she truly was and what fate Maleficent had placed upon her.[break][break]
On her Sixteenth Birthday, Aurora told the fairies that she fell in love with a man she met in the woods. Knowing she was to wed Prince Phillip, they forbade her from seeing him (little knowing the man in the woods was Phillip himself). Reluctantly they revealed to her who she was and that she was to marry the prince. They then took her back to the castle, keeping her in a special room to protect her from her predestined fate. However, Aurora found the spinning wheel and pricked her finger. Guilt-ridden, Fauna and the other fairies put all in the kingdom to sleep until Aurora could be awakened. The three then gave Phillip the Sword of Truth and the Shield of Virtue to defeat Maleficent. In the end, the prince was victorious, and awoke Aurora with true love's kiss. From there, all lived happily ever after...[break][break]

This is just a sample of the kindness that remained with Fauna when the Curse hit. Fauna also does a lot of charity work in the Village, as well as arranges bake sales and other events. For a woman in her mid-seventies, Fauna keeps extremely busy and loves every moment doing so. But as happy as this makes her, Fauna still feels there is something missing from her life. She finds she longs for old friends that she cannot remember. Often, Fauna hopes she finds these friends, whoever they may be. .
