Radcliffe, Roger Dearly [break] 28 Yrs Old & male & sidekick [break] Played by tod |
[attr="class","LD1container"]
[attr="class","LD1textarea"] Personality: Roger is a kind and loyal man who cares deeply about his family which even extends to his pets; which he views as family. When it comes to his family's wellfare and safety, he will stand up against what the threat is; since he has done that to Cruella when she tried to purchase Pongo and Perdita's newborn pups. Despite his bravery when it comes to meeting girls, he's not the best as seen by the fact it was only thanks to Pongo that he met Anita and things hit off between. He doesn't really go looking for meeting any girls and often he is needed to be nudged in that direction. The best way to describe him is that he is married to his work, with the correct inspiration he can make up lyrics rather fast but if the inspiration isn't there then well it might take him a while. Normally he is a calm soul but when it comes to maters that have been expected for a while but is finally happening, such as Perdita finally having her puppies, he can become a rather nervous sort and easily startled yet will still try to portray a calm appearance; which does fail. He has a strong love for dogs and despite knowing how difficult it would be to keep 101 dalmatians which 99 were pups, he was still up for it. He does seem to be good with math due to being able to add up the number of pups in his head rather quickly; though he's no math genius. When the curse hit he is pretty much the same in terms of personality and he is without Anita.[break][break]History: Roger Radcliffe was born in London, England and spent his whole life there. Somewhere along the lines he bought a dalmatian which he named Pongo and they spent a long time together. Becoming best friends and living the life of bachelors as he was free to practice his music. Sadly he was unaware that Pongo was growing tired of this way of life and had sneaked over to the clock to change the time. Thinking that his watch was slow, he believed that time had just flown by and thus got ready for his daily walk with Pongo. Going to the park things quickly escalated as Pongo tried very hard to introduce Anita and Roger, which ended up with the two humans in the water. Helping Anita up to her feet despite being soaking wet himself, he offered her his hankerchief when he saw that her's was soaking wet despite her telling him to go away however his was drenched as well and it caused the two to start laughing. A little while later the two married, moving into a small house in which they had Nanny living with them as well. [break][break]One day, a old classmate of Anita's comes by, a strange woman named Cruella Devile. Suddenly getting inspiration for a new song, he spends the whole visit upstairs doing a mock song consisting of the use of his piano and even a trumpet. After she leaves, Roger continues his song by leaving his small studio room and coming down the stairs wearing a red scarf and a cigeratte stick; the thing Cruella has. Continuing his son, Anita at first isn't interested but eventually he gets her to smile and thus stops. During a stormy night, Perdita is about to have her pups and Roger is just as nervous as Pongo, being startled when the canine friend licks his hand, causing him to nearly drop his pipe. Patting Pongo on the head, he tries to show that's he's calm but they're both startled when Nanny comes in shouting the puppies are here and Roger eagerly asks how many. The number was constantly changing till it almost stuck at fifteen, when Nanny came and gave him a pup that wasn't breathing. Sadden by this, a idea slowly came to him and rubbed the puppy's back resulting in him reviving it much to everyone's joy. The happy moment is cut short when Cruella appears and after calling hte pups mongrels due to their lack of spots, proceeds to attempt to buy them when she learns the spots will appear in a few weeks. Angered by this, Roger stands up to her and telling her that she can't have the puppies at all, not now not ever. This caused Cruella to rip up the check she was making out and after her shouting at them, she leaves. Things finally quieted back down for them and they could focus on what was important.[break][break] Not too long after though Roger and ANita took Pongo and Perdita on a walk to the park, only for the house to be broken into by Cruella's henchmen and the puppies stolen. The story makes the front page and despite the efforts of Scotland Yard, nothing turns up but Roger is still hopefully. Quickly answering the phone, he's unpleased when it's revealed that the person on the other line is Cruella and wants to speak to Anita. However he does demand where the pups are due to believing that Cruella has something to do with it, there just isn't any evidence to support it. One night at the park, Pongo is constantly barking and thus annoys Roger due to recent events. HOwever he is unaware that the dalmation is sending a message about the lost puppies and forcefully drags him home only for Pongo and Perdita to run off to met up with the Great Dane.[break][break] Unaware of Pongo and Perdita's true goal, Roger is upset that they both ran away and is revealed to still be blue about when Christmas time comes round. His Cruella Devile song is a hit and has brought in much needed money; more so than they had hoped. However he immediately turns the radio off when his song comes on and is still trying to understand why Pongo and Perdita just took off like that. A large group of labradors burst in but is soon revealed to be Pongo, Perdita, their pups, and many more!! Amazed by this he counts them all up in his head and nearly falls over when putting the two adult dalmations into the equation making it a hundred an one. Anita is against the idea of keeping them all but Roger is all for it, eventually convincing her and getting inspiration for a new song 'Dalmation Plantation.'and saying that they could buy a house in the country but such plans wouldn't come.[break][break]The curse struck and thus everyone's lives were changed, Roger is without Anita or the puppies, finding himself as just a piano lessons giver/teacher and a stand jazz pianoist for a jazz band at a respected enough establishment; a job that doesn't always help him. However he still has 'Pongo' only in the form of a person as his best friend as a man named Rod Taylor, though the guys at the studio have dubbed him Pongo, including Roger. Other than Pongo, there is only one other person from his old life the woman Nanny who has taken the form of his elderly Aunt on his mother's side whom is intent on making sure that he is actually doing alright for himself but still loves her dearly. However his Uncle; his father's older brother, seems intent on getting him to a high place in life. While he appreciates his Uncle's....'concern for his wellfare' he doesn't want to be in high society. Roger is actually content with his simple life, though it just seems his uncle gets more and more determined with each failed attempt. For what he knows in this world, his father was born into high class however he had fallen in love with a middle class woman and thus cast his inheritance aside and status, leaving his older brother in the high life alone. Several years later, Roger was born and raised by them lovingly till their unfortunate deaths when he ten and while it sadden him, things brightened up. He was raised by his aunt lovingly and visited often by his Uncle, a strange man but still family so Roger treated him well. Eventually he met Rod Taylor and things have remained pretty good.
