It was always like that. Olaf, born as a creation out of the mind of young Elsa loved the idea of the warmth of love. When he was first made, he was inanimate — just a simple structure made out of ice and snow with a carrot for a nose. But Elsa and Anna of Arendelle loved him dearly and he loved them, although he didn’t know it yet.[break][break]
It wasn’t until years later when Elsa left after her incident that Olaf finally sprung to life. Built out of the magic that Elsa had been hiding for so long, Olaf came from the memory of the happy times that she once shared with Anna when they were young. He is truly the representation of innocence, love, and childhood joy. Goofy and naive, but always willing to go out of his way to do anything for Elsa and Anna.[break][break]
After his apparent accidental creation, Olaf wandered around the mountains alone and lost until he ran into Anna, Kristoff and Sven who were trying to find Elsa. He caused a bit of a fright in Anna, who proceeded to kick off his head and scream, but once everything calmed down, she gifted him with one of his favorite features: his carrot nose. Olaf informed them that he would be able to help. Naturally, he told them where Elsa was and offered to lead them directly to her…especially with a discovery of a staircase that led “exactly where they wanted to go.”[break][break]
When he re-meets Elsa, it was a strange experience for him. Seeing the girl who created him was everything he ever dreamed it would be, sprinkled with the slightest hints of disappointment. She seemed so angry and Olaf worried about her. As Elsa chased them from her ice palace, it was Olaf who tried to save them from Marshmallow. However, his efforts were fruitless and they ended up being thrown over the edge of the rift anyway.[break][break]
It was off to visit the trolls after that, or the resident “love experts.” Olaf hit it off with Sven and Kristoff’s family, growing to love the trolls in his own way. He enjoyed dancing and singing with them and when it was time to go he missed them as much as the bubbly snowman was capable of missing someone.[break][break]
Separated from the group on their way to the castle, when Olaf finally makes it back, he finds Anna nearly dying on the floor of the library. After hearing that Hans betrayed her, he builds a fire and begins melting, trying to make sure that Anna gets the warmth she needed. It was then that he explains that it was Kristoff who has loved Anna all along — the perceptive snowman always had a way of understanding people in a fashion that couldn’t quite compare to others. He helps Anna escape the castle.[break][break]
He tried to make it all the way to Kristoff with Anna, but the gusts of wind on the fiord blew him away. It wasn’t until everything had been settled that they were all reunited. In the end, Olaf was gifted his own personal flurry by Elsa, his creator — a way for him to remain intact, despite the warmth of the season. He got to enjoy summer and everything that he loved without having to worry about melting in the process. [break][break]
But, of course, he doesn’t remember any of that now.[break][break]
Here in Wonderland, He’s awkward, lanky, and says all the wrong things at the wrong times. 19 year old Olaf Summers hasn’t got a clue how to actually live his life. He’s gullible and always laughing, although sometimes he doesn’t understand the jokes that people throw at him. Olaf has found a stable group of friends that he would do anything for, but he can’t help but feel that something is missing sometimes. He covers it up well, always grinning and being the first to crack a joke or a weird dance move when the mood gets solemn. But truth be told — even Olaf Summers knows that something isn’t right here in Wonderland.[break][break]
“i’ve always loved the idea of summer, and sun, and all things hot.” [break][break]
