Behr, Koda [break] 19 Yrs Old & Male & Side-Kick[break] Played by Suzie |
[attr="class","LD1container"]
[attr="class","LD1textarea"]Life as a bear is simple, fun and meant to be enjoyed. You hunted fish, you played with friends and family and things were simple. Well, that's how it should have been.
[break][break]
Koda was an adorable little bear cub with a certain knack for over-exaggerating stories that he told. He loved to tell stories to anyone who would listen, though most would consider him the 'bear who cried wolf'. Sometimes his stories were just so wild, that people couldn't believe anything he said later on, even if it was true. One day, while out with his mother, Koda and she were separated. She was brave, though, protecting him from the mean hunters who were coming around to give them trouble. He knew he'd find her again. He just had to get back to the Salmon Run, a gathering of bears to catch the first Salmon of the Spring. Before he could go, however, he ran into a poor lost bear named Kenai. He automatically offered to lead there bear to the Salmon Run, and to see the lights on the Mountain!
[break][break]
That was a fun adventure indeed! Singing, telling stories, eating berries, fishing. Thought Kenai was a bit uptight, Koda was incredibly good at entertaining the lost bear. They traveled together for many miles, even trying some unconventional methods along the way to get to their destination. Once they arrived, Koda introduced his knew friend to all the bears he knew, and urgently looked for his mother amongst the group... when she wasn't found there, he was proud that he had beat her there, as if it was a race! His mother liked racing.
[break][break]
Koda told the story of him and his mothers separation with much detail, most of it was actually true! It was amazing. Later that night, Kenai pulled him aside...
[break][break]
This was when it seemed the world stopped spinning for Koda, at least for a moment. Kenai told him that he was actually a human who had been transformed into a bear. Before his transformation, however, Kenai had hunted and killed a bear that stole their fish. This bear was Kodas mother. Hadn't Koda trusted him? Hadn't they been like brothers? The news was too much for the little cub, however, and he took off running. Needing some time to think for himself.
[break][break]
His love for his mother was incredibly strong, as was his grief for her. He struggled with the idea of forgiving Kenai, his heart felt cold and ruthless. Empty and lonely. He searched for solace on his own, but not before running into some Moose they had met earlier on their journey. The moose gave him advice, showing him that Kenai cared for him and wanted to keep him safe. Koda still struggled, but he knew that Kenai needed help getting to the top of the mountain with the lights. That's where Kenai was trying to go.
[break][break]
Once Koda reached the mountain, he found a hunter trying to attack Kenai. As it turned out, the hunter was Kenais brother trying to avenge his 'death'. Koda found all of this a little confusing, but he did his best to protect Kenai and stop the brother. When Koda tried to stop him, Kenai saved his life. In a sudden moment of a short connection between the spirit world and the living, Koda was able to say goodbye to his mother while Kenai was able to be turned human bye his deceased elder brother.
[break][break]
That's when Koda realized he really was on his own. His best friend and brother Kenai was human again, and his mother really was gone. He was helpless and lonely all in an instant, trying to communicate with Kenai who couldn't understand him. Kenai had made a mistake by killing his mother, Koda understood that, but was he now going to leave him all alone? No, Kenai decided to stay a bear in order to care for Koda as the brother he had been for the past several days. The two were inseparable after that, showing the world that forgiveness and love can overcome all evil.
[break][break]
Koda believes that to this day. He may have no memory of who he was or what he went through, but he understands the important of love, family and forgiveness. He's still his upbeat self, singing and telling stories often. He can get a little overconfident, which often gets him into trouble. He trusts people too easily and loves passionately. No matter what happens, Koda is determined to be a friend to everyone he meets. Even those who have wronged him.
