In another world much smaller than yours, lived an ant colony. In this colony lived thousands of ants that worked day and night to gather food for what they called "the offering". Every year they wore their antennas to the core as they tried to gather as much food on their island. Every season a group of grasshoppers would come to the island but not for a friendly meeting. You see, the Offering was for the grasshoppers. The grasshoppers had found a way of bullying the dear ants into an agreement that had lasted centuries. The ants would pick and gather the food on their little island and offer a large amount of it to the grasshoppers each season in return for life. [break][break]
Things go awry when one clumsy ant comes up with an invention that could help the ants pick food more efficiently. This ant, named Flik, has had a history of messing things up for the ants but never on purpose. This new invention, although it works, becomes the cause of a most unfortunate series of events. All is well for Flik when he uses the invention to gather many grains but when the alarm signally that the grasshoppers are on their way, he runs back to the ant hill. First he must drop the food off at the gathering spot and head underground. [break][break]
Flik drops the grains off and throws the invention down as he scurries off towards the ant hill but a loud noise stops him in his place. The large formation of food takes a tumble into the lake below, leaving no food to offer the grasshoppers whom are currently seconds away from arrival. Scared, Flik runs into the ant hill to the side of the princess, frantic to tell her what happened. Inside the ant hill were all of the ants waiting for the grasshoppers to eat the offers and leave them alone, but all are frightened and confused when they hear a grasshopper's voice. "Hey, where's the food?[break][break]
Before Flik can even explain what happened, the grasshoppers break through the colony ceiling. The colony became filled with large, intimidating grasshoppers towering over them. With a threat and new deal to receive twice the usual amount of food, they left. There was no way they were ever going to be able to gather that much food and still have some for themselves. The ants were desperate and it was all Flik's fault.[break][break]
At the Royal Council meeting, they declared Flik not only guilty for his crime but grant him travel to find "warrior bugs" to help fight off the grasshoppers. The council didn't really believe in his plan but needed Flik to be away while they gathered the food. With Flik gone they could confidently work as hard as they could without any slip ups. [break][break]
The next morning Flik left to the city to find anyone that could help their colony. It was there that he came across a group of circus performers that he mistakes for warrior bugs. Unaware that they are not what he thought they were, and Flik not the talent agent they thought he was, they returned to the colony. Everything is going well until the "warrior bugs" meet the ants and it finally dawns on them- they think they're really warriors. The ants were so exited that this plan will work that they stop gathering food for the grasshoppers and celebrate.[break][break]
When Flik is finally told the bugs are not what they appear he is struck with fear and anxiety but manages to persuade them to stay. Instead of the warriors fighting the grasshoppers, they decide upon a new plan. For days and days the ants and warrior bugs work together to create a leaf feathered bird to scare away the grasshoppers. Things were going well until P.T. Flea, the warrior bugs' ex-employeer, blows their cover by coming to rehire the bugs. Angry that Flik lied to her, the princess banishes him from the island as she and the ants frantically get things ready for the gathering. Flik joins the warrior bugs in returning to the circus life, ashamed of his actions and puting the ant hill in danger. He was only trying to help.[break][break]
Now was the moment of truth as the grasshoppers arrived at the island to feast on the gatherings. When they arrived they were furious at the lack of food. The youngest princess even heard the leader of the grasshoppers threaten to squish the queen. After hearing such an awful thing, the young princess puts Flik's bird plan back in motion and even brings Fik and the bugs back to the island. Instead of a typical gathering, the ants set up a party for the grasshoppers with the warrior bugs as entertainers. [break][break]
Once the bird is released and mass panik comes over the grasshoppers, P.T. Flea crates problem when he too believes the bird is real and sets it a blaze. Inside the bird are a troop of young ants, included the youngest princess. The bird crashed into the rock as the flames grow with each leaf it consumes. It is then that the grasshoppers find that the bird is not real. The leader of the grasshoppers, Hopper, then comes after Flik, faulting him for all his problems. [break][break]
With a struck of courage, Flik comes to his feet, declaring an end to their oppression. The ants ban together in fighting the grasshoppers for their island and evntually chase them out for good. Hopper, on the other hand, pursues Flik deep in the island where he is eventually eaten by a real bird.[break][break]
The colony can now breath easy as their land is now theirs, as is their food. Flik is welcomed back to the colony with open arms.

the Curse[break]
Here in Wonderland, Flik will do anything to help the community out. He has volunteered in the fields to help gather foods and he's particularly good at it. Surprise, surprise. In his downtime he tries to come up with new ways to make thing more efficient and move smoother around the village and fields. Flik can be found in his home's office with a pencil to parchment sketching out new ideas. When he isn't in the fields or in his home office, you can find him exploring the village and asking anyone if they need help with anything. Flik simply wants to help if he can.

Flik is a bit of a klutz. He doesn't mean to be, but unfortunately he wasn't gifted with the grace of the gods, or even that of a pig. Anyone who has ever had to live with him knows one very important fact; he's a bloody slob, and nothing anyone can say will ever change that fact. Whether it's simply him being too busy to put things away or liking the clutter, no one is really sure. The one thing you can guarantee, however, is that it will not be clean. He's not unhygienic, just messy, leaving his papers scattered across the breakfast table and his writing paper around the kitchen. When things are tidied up around him, however, he begins to panic. He can remember where he left something when things are in a mess – how, no ones quite sure. He hates it when people tidy up after him, especially without telling him first, and if you put away all his things, there'll be hell to pay. Flik does appreciate the thoughtfulness behind the act but just don't mess with what little amount of a system he currently has going. It's all he's got to keep myself on top of things. Thanks to his messiness, he's also an expert at stacking things precariously –don't touch one of his tidy towers or else it may just fall on top of you.[break][break]
Flik tries to be incredibly loyal to what he believes in and the people he cares about. He would do anything for them, if they asked and such things were within his morals. While he's not one to make snap judgments about people, once an opinion is formed, it does tend to stick and you'll find yourself hard pressed to change his mind on it. He's a bit stubborn that way. Though, he would fight someone if he needed to but if his loved ones were in danger, but he won't immediately put himself or those he cares about in the line of fire if he thinks he can avoid it. Flik can be brave when he has to be but in everyday life he's often perceived as somewhat timid, if at least friendly. He can get angry, but his temper is a slow burning one, flaring up only after his patience has been worn to the barest thread. An angry Flik is quite the sight.[break][break]
Flik loves a good laugh but unfortunately his sense of humour leaves much to be desire. He will try to tell you all the classic ones that have been told to death already. Two liner jokes are a firm favorite and he doesn't actually search out new material from the worst possible sources; ancient joke books. Beware, when Flik has ventured into the library for the day, he will unleash a stream of awful and ancient jokes that should have been buried a long time ago. What makes it worse is that he's not very good at telling jokes anyway; he starts giggling half way through if he finds it particularly entertaining, never holds the silence for long enough and often misses the point of his own jokes. At least he can take a joke back– he's a good sport and won't be offended if you do have a laugh about when he fell over last.[break][break]
