and always will. Life in Wonderland was rather easy, well at least for Wendy Princeton is was. Maybe because she had an older brother to look out for her or because she had stories to tell the younger kids, but she was young enough that the hard times were yet to come, even if she was twenty-two. Wendy usually spent most of her time in the Library, helping out around the place and even telling stories or reading them to the younger children and they all listened with fascination. But as soon as she was done she usually just stuck around until her brother wanted her home, but sometimes…just sometimes that didn’t happen. She was known to run off and have adventures through Wonderland with her partners in crime, John and James. Of course her brother did not like this, maybe because he always worried about her safety and he was just playing the part of older brother, but sometimes Wendy felt like she was being smothered and whenever James came around with a new adventure, the young Wendy jumped at the idea, and one of those times were today.
She was putting away a few books, the time that she was supposed to be home was closing in and the sound of the door opening with a rattle caught her attention, but she didn’t turn around, continuing her cleaning up. The children were known to be message and throw books around when they saw her getting ready to tell her stories. One child today had even asked her where she heard the stories that she told and she just smiled at him and told him it was an instinct and if he had a imagination just like her’s, the stories would just flow. Of course the young boy asked if the stories she told were real, and she had to sadly decline, oh how she wished they were. To sit and talk with mermaids, to never age and to battle with pirates would have been the best of times, but of course everyone had to grow up. Or at least according to her older brother, everyone had to grow up. But Wendy didn’t want to, she wanted to stay the way she was forever, she wanted to be the rebellious, adventurous and imaginative girl she was in that moment, she didn’t want to be strict or mature like her brother wanted her too.
The last book slipped into place on the shelf before she turned around and noticed James standing not too far away from where she stood, she smiled at him and slowly walked over to boy. “James Fox, what brings you here?” she questioned with excitement gleaming in her eyes. If he was here that meant that a new adventure was at hand, and that meant her brother was just going to have to worry about her another day, because when adventure called….she answered.

James didn't care that he was a grown teen, he still sat on the floor and listened to the stories Wendy told at the bookstore. Every single time. Today she had told a few earlier, he listened, but left once she was done. She still had to stay there for a while and he couldn't sit still and wait for his best female adventure friend to be done with work or whatever! He had places to be. And thank goodness he went to those places! He was exploring Wonderland, being foolish as usual, throwing things at Xan when she wasn't looking and running around John in circles. Still, he stumbled upon a little cottage he had never been to before... it was seemingly empty, with dust covering most of the things inside. Of course he had to take a look around! It wasn't long until he found himself at he bookshelf, pulling out a book that the title looked familiar... Suddenly, something fell on the floor at his feet. He picked up the paper, unfolded it, and his eyes widened. Why, it was a treasure map! It had to be. It was a guide to somewhere. He didn't know where, obviously, but he had to find out. He quickly made a break back for the village, Wendy would be just about done right now! The shop was closing and he walked in, smiling casually as he was caught by his dear friend. "Oh nothing, Birdy," he didn't know why he called her that, it was just kind of something that happened. He innocently walked toward her before suddenly pulling the map out from behind his back and holding it in front of her face, "BEHOLD! Your plans for the evening, my darling. We are going on a treasure hunt!"@wendy

and always will. ‘Oh nothing, Birdy. BEHOLD! Your plans for the evening, my darling. We are going on a treasure hunt!’
Wendy grinned from ear to ear, a laugh so contagious leaving her lips at his words. The nickname, Birdy, didn’t go unnoticed by the young woman but she was too excited to even comment. Her hands itch to grasp the paper and hold the softness of it between her fingers and before she knew it she gently took it from him and peered down at it. Her eyes were wide in awe, so wide that one would fear they would fall out. She smiled once again, looking up at James with a devious smirk upon her lips. “Looks like we have another adventure indeed. We must go get John, he will want to come with us.” she said with confidence and excitement leaking from her tone of voice. It was in that moment she didn’t care what her brother would think, she was in need of another adventure and with their adventures came danger. Danger so nasty and frightening that her brother had once yelled at her for even going on the adventure, of course that didn’t stop Wendy Princeton. Wherever her little partner’s went, she went. The three of them were a package deal.
The young woman glanced around; making sure that no one needed her before she turned back to James. “I’ll race you.” she said with a grin before she took off for the door, the map still grasped tightly within her hands. She pushed open the tall doors of the library and took off down the gravel. Of course she had chosen this day to wear a pale blue dress and her black flats, but in that moment nothing mattered at the two raced each other to where they knew John Banning to be. Wendy wasn’t even tired when they arrived at the location, instead turning to James and smiling “Looks like you lost, but only slightly!” she exclaimed before turning around. “Oh John!” she called out, hoping that John would hurry so they could get on with the adventure.

John was having a pretty mundane day so far. He had plans to go listen to Wendy's reading at the library, but he got too caught up in the book he was reading currently himself. He didn't know why he enjoyed listening to Wendy read them so much, but it just made him happy. There were even times that he and James would stand up and start acting out the sword fights when they were happening in the books. But alas, today wasn't that day. In fact, he completely missed the reading and was a little frustrated about it. When James and Wendy were on their way to his house, he was moving some furniture around, hoping to stifle some of his boredom. Suddenly, he heard someone calling him from outside. He couldn't mistake that voice.
He ran to the window, and peered outside to see none other than Wendy and James. "Wendy Princeton you must be psychic. I was just beating myself up over missing your reading earlier, and here you are. Both of you! Which means..that you're dragging me off on some crazy adventure again, I wager?" A smirk curved on to his lips. What were they going to get him in to today? "Let me just grab my bag." His bag. A bag he always carried on adventures, filled with a compass, a canteen that was always filled with water, and a first aid kit. He always wanted to be prepared. Once he had everything he needed, he rushed outside to meet his friends.
"Right then! I'm all set. Where are we going today, my friends?"

Wendy's grin made James bounce up and down on his toes. He let her take the paper, of course! "Ooh yes, John must come along!" James said, barely able to stand still. John had grown quite fond of the adventures, thank heavens! Sometimes James and Wendy worried that John might not be as up for them as they were, but he proved that theory false. John was just as crazy as they were deep down!
Suddenly she was announcing a race and tore off. "Ah!" James called out before running after her, but she was already ahead of him. Plus, that girl was actually pretty dang fast! He caught up to her, laughing as he bent over. After he stopped his laughter, he stood up straight "Ooh Johnny boy!!" He called.
"Yeah, where were you!?" James called up as Johns face appeared in the window. "Hurry and get down here," he called in between Johns sentences, not really caring if he cut John off. John wouldn't care. At the mention of Johns bag, James bounced up and down again. That bag was quite useful!
Now that John was outside, James threw his arms around his and Wendy's shoulders. "My friends, we are going on a treasure hunt! Navigator, show us the map!" He said, turning to Wendy.

An excited smile was clear upon the brunette’s face as she looked for John and then there he was, up in the window. Wendy waved up at the younger boy. Finally after what seemed like a while the gang was getting together and going on an adventure, she felt like she was losing her mind. Her brother was getting more on her case with hanging with these two, fearful and worried that she would lose herself in the fantasies and the adventures and never grow up and be mature. She thought she was mature, mature enough to go on these adventures and bring excitement to other’s lives, but she also needed excitement. She may be twenty-two but that didn’t mean that she wasn’t a kid at heart. It wasn’t long before John came out, his magical bag in his hand, of course it wasn’t magical per say, it just had everything they needed stored within it.
‘My friends, we are going on a treasure hunt! Navigator, show us the map!’
James’s arm wrapped around her shoulder before she dug the map from the back of her dress belt, the thing had been rolled up back there and it didn’t take her long to straighten it out and hold it out. “The map of our adventure.” she said with a smile of excitement, her blue eyes sparkling.
