tag; @nani | Today looked gorgeous from the bay window in her room. The sun shined brightly without a single cloud in sight. Lilo took the cup from her lips and grabbed her bag off of the bench under the windows before heading down the stairs into the living room.
"I'm going out." She called out to anyone that might be home though she was sure they didn't care she was leaving. Lilo dropped her empty cup in the sink before heading to the door. She wasn't sure where she was heading today but she felt like something was telling her to go out. Lilo rounded the fencing at the end of the pathway and made her way into the village.
The village was expanding by the day to accommodate all the new residents. The young girl put her bag on her shoulder as she strolled through the village simply looking at the fronts of all the businesses. The place was quiet until she heard a noise of frustration from the back of a building. Naturally Lilo walked between two buildings and looked around the corner to see a woman there.
"Are you okay, lady?"

Nani was having an awful day. She was just a woman, trying to get by.. and while she was perfectly fine financially and otherwise, she couldn't help feeling like there was something missing in her life. It obviously wasn't a career as a seamstress. Currently she was trying out her skills at that, and she was positive that the only reason she wasn't canned yet was because Sally, the village seamstress, was a kind natured person who tended to give second..third..fourth..sometimes fifth chances. But she couldn't do this anymore.. she couldn't keep trying to fill empty gaps in her life by going to job after job, after job. Something had to give here! "I'M FINE!" she called out, to whoever was asking. Whirling around, she saw a young girl, and suddenly felt the strangest pang, but she shrugged it off as frustration. "Oh.. I am so so sorry. I"m just.. having a really messed up day.." She lifted her hands to her head, and plopped down on the stoop near Sally's door. "Have you ever felt like something is missing? Something important?" It was no secret that no one had their memories, but this was.. intense. "It feels like my heart has a hole in it.. and.. and.." She lifted her gaze, and quirked a brow, staring at the young girl again. "And..I"m baring my soul to a complete stranger. Sorry again. I might as well introduce myself after yelling at you and making you my therapist." She laughed nervously. "I'm Nani." LILO KAIPO PELEKAI

tag; @nani | Lilo smiled politely at her when she introduced herself, the name was oddly familiar but she assumed she had just heard it around the village at some point. "You're okay," Lilo started, wringing her hands around the sashed bag. "I'm just glad you didn't tell me to go away. Most people don't bother being around me." She lifted her head to the right and shrugged her shoulder. More often than not people didn't even notice her but this woman was different. Not only did she notice and not ignore Lilo but she found no trouble in letting out her frustrating situation to her. Lilo couldn't help but feel sorry for this woman, she had never seen anyone in this village so distraught over their lost memories
"I'm Lilo." Lilo let out a deep breath and plopped herself down next to the woman. "I feel it too." She spoke softly, referring to a hole missing inside. Lilo didn't feel like she belonged anywhere and she always had this feeling like she has someone but they're too far away to find. "We'll find it some day and.. And everyone will be happy." Lilo turned to look at Nani, giving her a positive nod. All of Lilo's hopes in finding out where she came from were in a small camera in her bag of which she had to figure out. One day she would be able to develop the pictures and see the ohana she had forgotten but until then she was still so far from being completed.
"Maybe-" Lilo turned her head to look at the building they were sitting at and examined it. It looked like the place where people went for clothing and alterations. "Maybe sewing it's your thing. You can find your thing. What do you do for fun?"

This strange girl that Nani was venting to was completely making her feel better. Moreso than anyone she'd met in Wonderland as far as she knew of, really. She was comforted by Lilo's words, and almost felt as though she could cry. "You're right." She spoke with a small sigh . "We'll all find it eventually. I can't imagine why anyone would tell you to go away, by the way. You're a nice listener." She didn't want Lilo to go away. A strong part of her wanted to cling to the girl and let loose all of her woes and tears..but she was a stranger, a teenager, and that would be weird. Right? She asked what Nani did for fun, and it was an easy question..but Nani thought it was rather silly. Still though..she let her in on it. Leaning in close by tilting slightly to the side, she lowered her voice . "I dance. I don't know why..but it makes me feel happy." There was no one around, aside from the random passer by, so she rose to her feet. "It's sort of like this." She started to move her hips, and her arms as though they were ocean waves. "Hula, is what came to my mind when I started. It must be what the dance is called."

tag; @nani | Lilo dropped her bag next to her on the ground and turned her head towards Nani. People had never let her stay long enough to say much before calling her weird but with Nani she found comfort in just being beside her. You're right. Lilo hadn't heard that before. She smiled brightly at the woman beside her as she agreed that they would one day find what they were missing. Deep down Lilo knew things would work out for the residences even if they didn't. She found she always had hope in people despite their crude comments towards her. Her smile faded as Nani addressed her comment about not being around others for long. "People treat me different." She spoke softly, shaking her head as if to shake it off.
Lilo allowed the moment to pass quickly as she looked up at Nani, who leaned in close and spoke almost in a whisper. I dance. Her eyes lit up as Nani came to her feet quickly and began to show her just how she danced. As Nani moved her arms like the flow of the ocean, Lilo let out a loud gasp. Hula, that was it! "I know that dance!" She shrieked, coming to her feet and joining her new acquaintance. Although Lilo was not as good at Nani she still danced with a passion.

The poor girl.. Lilo seemed to act as if no one ever cared about her. It was strange to Nani, and almost made her angry that people would put the girl aside like that. Even though she was a perfect stranger, Nani felt very close to her. Maybe it was because Nani needed comfort and Lilo was the only one who'd listen... or maybe it was something much deeper. Either way, Nani didn't express any of this. She simply wrapped an arm around Lilo's shoulder and gave her a kind smile. "Don't worry about what anyone else says. You just be yourself, and you'll be just fine." When Nani stood up to dance, she found herself quite surprised. Normally she'd be storming off home right about now, grumbling about how much of a failure she was for messing up at yet another job..but instead, she was dancing in the middle of the street. Suddenly, she was joined by a teenager whom she'd only just met, who knew the exact dance that had been in her mind since she could remember anything. "You do know it!" But how? It was the same dance, as though they had learned it together. "Ow!" She winced and grabbed her waist. "Sorry.. got a bit of a stitch in my side. I haven't danced like that in a week.." out of practice. LILO KAIPO PELEKAI

tag; @nani | Nani's words were comforting to her, all she could do was be herself and Nani was right. Now here was this woman dancing infront of her and Lilo felt free for the very first time. Lilo and the other residences had only been in Wonderland for a couple months. Slowly but surely they all were discovering links to who they were before, Lilo had always wondered why she danced like this around her home. For a while her roomates gave her strange looks but a few even joined her these days. She wasn't an amazing dance like Nani was but she thought she was rather good.
Nani's gasp at Lilo when she came to her feet and danced with her made Lilo feel as if this woman had meant something to her. The familiarity of her name, her comforting voice, the dance they both knew- they were linked. Lilo's smile and laughter faded as she heard Nani's wince. "You'll be fine, you're just.. Out of practice!" Lilo shrugged, "We can always dance another time." she smiled lightly at her as she took a seat once more. "Where'd you learn how to dance like that anyhow?"
