"I've got a package for you, Hatter." Pongo said as he dug through his mail satchel. He was always amazed at what he pulled out of the small bag. He didn't really need to know where people lived, if they were nearby their packages just appeared at the top. He pulled out a box smaller than a tea cup.
"Looks like something special." He told the hatter. He walked away, reaching into his bag once more. He pulled out a stack of mail, tied with a piece of twine. The name on the top letter was Daniel Oliver Johnston.
Pongo looked around excitedly, he had not seen Daniel in ages, hence the large stack of letters he held in his hand. The hatter was in the room, excitedly opening his package, a few stay people, and one lump in the corner. It could be another person, but Pongo couldn't be sure. He loved meeting up with Daniel. Sure, they seemed to not get along. But who else was going to argue incessantly with him? There was never a dull moment when Daniel was around. Last time they had argued for three hours until finally the palace guards had kicked them off of the grounds for causing a ruckus. They had been arguing about women. Daniel seemed to think that the more ladies he could date the better, where Pongo was trying to convince him of the wonderful stability a single, wonderful woman could bring to a life. They had had this argument before, and probably would again. Yet it never got old.
That could be because Pongo never got tired of talking about Perdita, the most beautiful creature on four legs. Two legs. People only had two legs. Why had he thought four? He frowned, pressing the heel of his hand to his temple. He could almost remember something... it was right there. Right at the tip of his tongue. And then it was gone. Just like always. He slid his hand angrily down his face. There was something there. Something he couldn't remember. It was important. He had felt the same way about that woman he saw the other day, the one with the fur coat and the black and white hair. SHe gave his a headache like no other.
