Nani was the first born of two people who were very much in love. They had a happy little ohana that was made even better when little Lilo was brought in to the world. Nothing could have been better. It seemed like nothing could go wrong.. until it did. A car crash caused Nani and Lilo's world to fall apart. Their parents were both taken from them that night, and Nani only had a brief time that she had to completely pull herself together and take care of Lilo. She was no longer just the big sister..she was now mother, and father, as well.

It was a roller coaster of emotions for Nani. She didn't even have much time to grieve before she had to start working as many jobs possible in order to take care of Lilo to make sure she had a normal, happy life..and she was under pressure by child services to make sure that happened, or else they'd take Lilo away from her. She had to make sure that couldn't happen..her little sister was the only thing she had. And so, Nani went to work and did everything she could. There was only one problem...Lilo wasn't a normal little girl.

In fact, she was quite odd, but Nani loved it about her. The other children, however, treated her as an outcast. Especially when Lilo would go on and on about pleasing the weather god, because she believes that he was the reason the car carrying their parents crashed.. it was because of the rain. Still though, Nani tried to keep Lilo as active with the others as possible, so she had her in hula class. Hula dancing was in their blood. Even Nani and their mother were dancers once upon a time, until Nani had to give up such things to concentrate on working to keep money coming in and food on the table.

Things were going as well as they could have gone..until Stitch came. He was a very strange creature that Lilo brought home that caused an incredible amount of trouble. Lilo called him her 'dog', but he was the strangest dog Nani had ever seen. Despite Nani's gut feeling she let Lilo keep him, but it nearly got Lilo taken from Nani in the end. However, it was found out that Stitch wasn't a dog at all, as Nani had suspected, but an alien. As strange as it sounded, it was all true... and luckily, the social worker, Cobra Bubbles, was there to see the whole scene play out. When it came down to it, Stitch saved Lilo, and Lilo was allowed to stay with Nani.

The curse came, and Nani was thrust in to a world without memories, and without her family. Lilo was gone, and so was Stitch and David. Nani now can't relax, because she feels as though something is missing in her life. As though she misses someone with all of her heart, yet she has no idea who. So the only thing she does really, is work as much as possible to keep her mind off of everything.

Deep down though, she knows she'll find what she's looking for one day, or rather, who. For now, she's taking odd jobs around Wonderland, working where she can, and however much she can. People she's met have told Nani to relax, but how? There's never any time.
