Mostly for the purpose of trying to find out the history of this strange land, Eve the Botanist and Researcher did quite a bit of exploring. This afternoon she found herself coming upon a small cottage that seemed somewhat abandoned. It was white with pink stripes along with some straw on the roof, large windows and a small door. It seemed as though some of the wood had been replaced, as if it had been damaged somehow. As Eve stepped up to the door she knocked... but to no answer. It may have been rude to just push the door open, but hey, it was unlocked! She stepped into the cottage and giggled a little at the site. Everything was in pastels. One room was purple, one blue, and so on. She wasn't much of a pastel person and it just looked plain silly to her. "Hello?" she called out as she walked through the small cottage. It looked as though things there had been abandoned... someone wasn't planning on leaving but did. Or maybe they were just out in The Village for the day and she was creeping around there house. But, to be fair, there was dust on most everything which implied that no one was there now. She took out her notebook and pen, standing in the middle of the living room on the first floor, jotting down a few notes about what she was seeing. @pitch

What a peculiar little place. There were a multitude of “peculiar” places here actually, but this one had some especially curious touches added to it. However, it was the emptiness of it that really had drawn Adrian over toward it. How did a place with such a unique paint job lose attention? Oh, right, because it was rather hideous – or perhaps he just had very different tastes compared to every other person in this absurd world he’d awoken in. He never did feel quite right in it and seeing something like this made him feel even more out of place. But there he was, approaching the cottage to have a look around it. If he was looking for answers then he might as well look wherever he could for clues.
Upon further investigation Adrian did not find much. He had quietly entered only to find that the cottage was just as lonely (and oddly colored) on the inside as it was on the outside. He had still kept his footfalls as silent as he could though as he peeked around inside. Unfortunately, he guessed that all he would be finding was dust and a whole lot of nothing. That was until he someone called a “hello.”
Adrian stopped in his tracks, his posture immediately straightening out. He stayed perfectly still to try and listen for anything else, but nothing came. He thought about finding a back way to slip away but instead found his curiosity was much stronger than his fear of being caught. As he made his way back over to the entry of the cottage he held himself with confidence, not wanting to seem like an intruder. When he saw the woman taking down notes, he stopped to eye her suspiciously.
“Are you looking for the owner?” he asked her. Then his eyes traveled toward her notebook. “Or are you just taking notes on the decorating?” @eve

Eve spun around as someone spoke. She faced the newcomer, a tall man with dark hair and good posture. She got a strange vibe from him, though. She got a strange vibe from everyone in Wonderland, to be fair. Everyone had that sense of loneliness about them, and some bitterness. Well, some people were just hunky dory with the memory loss, which Eve going strange. She straightened out. "Are you the one I should be complimenting for the paint job?" She raised an eyebrow at him, her words amusing but her tone straightforward. She wasn't a jokester, really, but the opportunity arose.
Really, she was sure this couldn't be his home. He wore dark clothes and looked almost as horrified with the bright colors as she did. "But if you're not the owner... Then what brings you here? To be honest, I'm doing research. Trying to figure out the history of this place," she told him, closing her notebook and returning it to her bag for the time being. Not that she was trying to be secretive, but there was no use holding it if she was going to have a conversation. Well, unless he did turn out to be the owner... Well, she'd find out soon enough.

His first reaction was a look of dislike, his eyes momentarily looking over the hideous choice in color. Then he looked back over toward the blonde and arched his brows. He shrugged his shoulders and rolled his eyes certain that his reaction to the suggestion would have pegged him for an intruder rather than the owner or maybe a guest. But, really, Adrian had no idea who owned the place. Had he known them then he probably wouldn’t have come inside since he could only assume that their personality would be as eccentric as their home was. Adrian decided he would not be taking the credit for the colors on the walls.
“Unfortunately, I’m just a guest. The owner of this place and I have very different –” he trailed off to glance around again “– taste.”
Adrian gave the young woman a very curious look then. She was doing research on the place? She was trying to learn about the history? He didn’t want to admit straight out that he was now actually quite intrigued by what she might have had to say. He hadn’t met with anyone who was interested in actually figuring anything out about this Wonderland. It seemed like so many had just resigned to just exist in it. This woman might actually know something.
“Curiosity,” he answered her. He took a few steps closer in her direction. “You’re doing research. You’re doing it for your own sake or do you work for someone? I haven’t met many people in Wonderland who have any interest in digging into the past.” He paused and gave her an almost teasing smile. “So, what have you learned from this cottage? It seems like a valuable piece of the mystery.” @eve

She was actually pretty relieved that he and the owner had different taste. Whoever lived here must have been entirely crazy to paint the house with every color of the rainbow in the brightest shade possible. That reminded her, what did Wonderlanders even use to paint? How did she even know what paint was!? That trail of thought was bound to give her a headache so she decided to avoid going down that path as she nodded, accepting that he was just as much of a 'guest' as she was. "Oh, a guest? So you know the owner?" she asked with a quizzical brow and a bit of a sarcastic tone. She often was this way with people, especially people who were breaking into a house. Well... she had broken in too, however. She could understand curiosity, of course. It was the heart of every scientist, really. She didn't move as he stepped closer to her but she nodded as he spoke. "Technically I work for the palace but... that is more of my work with botany," she explained. She was the Royal researcher in Botany for the most part, but she did have other interests. "I haven't really discussed my research about the History of Wonderland itself with the Queens... I find that they are better off not knowing how much I'm looking into it," she didn't know why she felt that way... but she had to follow her gut. She carried a look of disinterest, or something of the like, as he asked what she had learned from the cottage thus far. "Aw, not much. Except that the people of Wonderland seemed to have left in a hurry. Everything is still here but it feels... abandoned. I'm also interested in what they used to paint," she added, turning to gesture toward the wall. She wasn't sure if his calling the cottage 'valuable' was sarcasm or not, for she was finding that it probably wouldn't be that helpful. "I'm not sure of the value, however. Unless I found the owner... but, they may not even know that they own it."@pitch
