Hello my friend, I see you're back again Hello mystery, don't bother to explain tags open! | notes there are already so many threads in the festival board XD | muse what else... hair metal Daniel wasn't really sure if this festival-thing was supposed to be casual or business... so he had dressed business casual: aka a nice, mid-sleeve shirt and more relaxed pants. Now he felt overdressed as he strolled over to the table with the food on it. Everyone gathered around was wearing light, airy summer attire. Oh well. Daniel wasn't uncomfortable, and he looked good; both good points, he supposed. Scanning the table quickly, he heaped some yummy, meaty mess on his plate. It smelled of beef, and cut like a dream. It made his mouth water like no other. He decided on some salad (with oil, olives, and spinach, it looked like) and pasta (rotini with light, white sauce) to go with it. Forks were on down the table; he grabbed one before going around the other side to grab a deviled egg... or two, or... perhaps, ten. They looked delicious.
He reached down for a soft egg- and suddenly there was a scream. Drips of- something- hit his face and arm. A casual glance over told him that someone had been careless with their handling of the sauce on the pasta. As a result, Daniel was now wearing some. Raising one eyebrow, but still with a grin on his face, he looked in the direction of the earlier scream for the perpetrator of this heinous act (Not really. Sarcasm in this kind of situation could be fun sometimes).

Lucy decided to go out to the festival, and this time, she didn't even disguise herself. She didn't really feel the need to do so. There were so many people that she'd likely just blend in with everyone else anyway - so long as she didn't wear anything too fancy looking. She roamed through the festival, smiling as she saw balloons floating through the air. Everyone was filled with merriment, and it was just nice to see. It was far different than the normal mundane day when the villagers were just going about their daily business. She'd been perusing through the fair for about an hour before she realized that she was hungry, so instead of going back to the palace, she decided to sample the festival's food. They had quite a spread laid out for the occasion! Cakes, pies, meats, appetizers.. there was something for everyone. She immediately started to put food on to a plate, and when she came to a delicious looking pasta, she reached for the ladle that was inside of it. But alas.. since it was outside, there were of course little animals that wanted to join in on the party. She saw a rat skittering under the table - a rat, which seemed to give her a kind nod of apology before moving on - and Lucy screamed and dropped the ladle, spreading sauce all over someone beside her. Her eyes went wide, and she quickly started grabbing napkins. "I am so, so sorry!!" she cooed. "I'm mortified! I didn't mean to ruin your shirt! Did you see that rat? It was a rat! I...I hate rats.." Hello my friend, I see you're back again Hello mystery, don't bother to explain tags @lucy | notes and so it begins! I changed his opening post a little to make the transition a little smoother. His eyes met the sight of a lovely lady, with long brown hair and large, expressive eyes. Almost as soon as she noticed she had splashed on him, she was apologizing and running around collecting napkins. She didn’t need to worry about him so much. He could take a little food to the shirt. ”It’s alright. I needed something that would make me less fancy anyway.” He chuckled.
Then she mentioned a rat. He hadn’t seen it, but at the very mention of the little nuisance Daniel’s eyes narrowed; he hated them, too. Whenever he came across one he couldn’t help but kill it. They were vermin, carried disease, and an especially hungry one had an especially nasty bite. It just so happened that the little bugger ran out from under the table by Daniel’s right shoe. Reacting instinctively, he moved his foot and landed it right on the rat’s long tail. It squeaked desperately and scrabbled, pulling on its tail. Calmly setting his plate down on the table, he balanced himself and shifted his weight, crossing his left leg over his right, and tipping his foot brought the edge of his sole down on the base of the rodent’s neck. He got a little bit of a rush of satisfaction as he felt the rat’s spine give under his weight. There. No one would have to worry about it anymore. It lay on the ground, dead.
It was only then that he picked his plate back up with one hand, and with the other accepted some of the napkins the brunette offered him, and started to mop up the sauce on his shirt. "My name's Daniel. It's nice to meet you." He met her eyes and smiled one of his award-winning smiles.

She gave a small embarrassed little smile when he told her he needed something to make him look less fancy. "Still though, I should have been more careful." If she would have spilled something on anyone in the palace other than a servant she would have likely suffered a great reprimanding. She glanced down at the ground, and gasped when she saw the rat skittering out again, but before she could say anything, she watched as he crushed the vermin with his foot. The squish and pop was sickening, and made her stomach turn.. but the fact that he was so nonchalant about it did amuse her. However, she did lose her appetite suddenly. She placed her plate down, and the smile returned. "My hero," she spoke, blushing a little as she tried hard not to look down..otherwise she'd lose her breakfast that she had hours before. "I'm Lucy. It's a pleasure to meet you, Daniel," She gave him a light curtsy. It was a habit . "Um.. I just remembered that I ate a pretty big breakfast. But thank you for saving me from that vile creature, and i'm very sorry again for your shirt." She started to move away from him, as her eyes darted around to make sure that no one from the palace as watching. DANIEL OLIVER JOHNSTON

Hello my friend, I see you're back again Hello mystery, don't bother to explain tags @lucy | notes Daniel's all like, "Don't run away on me :c" "No really! You're perfectly fine. It happens to the best of us." Daniel shrugged, giving her an encouraging smile. He was quite taken with her; she was beautiful, with the waves and curls of her hair around her face. Not to mention her big brown eyes. They were splendid. Oh, no. He had made her uncomfortable, and caused her to lose her appetite. Daniel chided himself. He should have let it go. That would have been the best thing to do; it would have skittered away somewhere and not bothered them ever again. His stomach sank, and he realized with a jolt that party food was just not appetizing anymore. He set down his own plate again, and sighed a bit. Oh well, it was too late; he couldn't do anything about it now. Momentarily turning his attention once again to the rat carcass, he picked it up with the end of his shoe and nudged it under some nearby bushes, where it flopped into the shade and out of sight. He blushed just a slight bit when she called him her hero. "Oh, really, it was nothing at all." I do it all the time, He wanted to add, but held himself in check. That would gross her out even more than she was now; rat-killing as a career was very un-glamorous. "Lucy. That's such a beautiful name. Always been one of my favorites." He decided to try to resort to simple flattery to get her mind off of the little life he had just extinguished. He wasn't lying, though, he really did like the name Lucy. It had a ring to it. The only other name that did that for him was Lady. No particular reason really, it was just so simple and pretty. In response to her curtsy, he bowed slightly.
Then she excused herself and turned to go-- but something deep inside Daniel screamed at him to not let her run away. "H-Hey wait. I barely got to meet you." He touched her on the shoulder and pleaded gently, and, admittedly, lamely. He took another dive into those chocolate pools and saw fear barely concealed. "What, do I bite? ...Could I perhaps walk with you for a while?"

Lucy had a blush on her cheeks when he told her how much he enjoyed her name. She liked the name Daniel, too..she always had. It just sounded so nice on the ears. But she couldn't tell him that.. it would provoke more comments, and more flirtations. It certainly wasn't that she didn't want to flirt, it was because she was afraid that the wrong people would see her doing so since the festival was so crowded. When she walked away, she hoped that he'd just let her go, and maybe she'd see him again..but he didn't. He told her he wanted to walk with her, and she suddenly started looking around nervously. "Well I.." She started, suddenly feeling as though she were being watched - even though she wasn't. She took a deep breath, and closed her eyes. "Look.. I think you're really sweet, and I'd love to walk with you, I just don't know if it's such a good idea. You see.. my guardian, the Queen, might reprimand me if she caught me here. I'd love to walk with you, but really i'm not even worried about myself. She'll forgive me," probably not "But i'd be devastated if I not only soaked you in sauce but also got you in trouble with the Queen." Sauce would come off of his shirt. Blood? Not so much. The problem was, she really did want to talk to him.. he seemed nice. And he was quite cute.. But she did, however, know his reputation. "However, if you do walk along side me.. I suppose that you -are- free to go where you please.. and I'd be rude not to speak back if you speak to me first.." She hinted, biting down on her bottom lip. Notes: Awwww.. she wants him to walk with her all sneaky like! DANIEL OLIVER JOHNSTON
