The day had dragged on and on, a few staff members complained about the bolier being useless to him and told him to fix it quickly. He wasn't a mechanic! But it seemed to be the only thing he would do in this school. He had a good bit of knowledge in other things, so why couldn't he have taught? Oh well, he was rather unsure if the kids would even listen to him since some didn't give a care about what the teacher was going on about let alone school. Now having been stuck down here for two months, he learned a thing or two about this old contraption. IT was tempermental, certain gauges had to be at the unrecomanded setting in terms of it being lower; never higher than the recommended setting. It also seemed to responded to a hard whack with the wrench once a bolt of two had been re tightened and thus he did that, making the metallic thing groan and hiss as it seemed to accept the settings finally and work as desired. The sound was rather loud and while he was growing used to it, it still hurt his ears a bit course due to the loud sound it could be heard outside of the boiler room and the closer the room was to the stair case that lead down there, the stronger the sound would be for students and teachers to hear.
Right after he did this, he could hear the bell. Releasing the children from the school and letting them return home or to do as they so wished. So going over to his desk that was covered in less books since he took a good fraction home the previous night, people could now see him straight away when they got to the bottom of the stairs. Taking the crystal out of his pocket, he stared at it though he had no idea what was about to emerge at the bottom of those stairs in three, two, one.

Trini had a heart of gold. She loved making friends and just love to brighten people's days in general. It was just in her nature. It had always seemed to be in her nature, even though she didn't really member much about her nature when she was younger. But that didn't bother her that much. She just focused on being happy most of the time and making others the same.
She beamed when the school bell rang. She knew she would have time to play before it got dark and she had to return home to her cottage in the woods. She made sure to get there before dinner got cold. Her mom made the best food after all. As she stepped down the stairs, she spotted Milo. She was always interested by him. He seemed to keep to himself, and that made her even more curious about him. So she decided to walk over and say hi.
"Heya Mr. Tatch," she said respectfully addressing him as she would her teacher. "Whatcha doing?" She then look at the crystal. "Oh wow, that's neat. Where did you get it?" She then removed some candy from her bookbag. "I have jelly beans. You want some?"

A voice caught him off guard and even being called Mr. Thatch was surprisng to him, considering his grandfather was around and was also a Thatch. Course he soon looked toward the bottom of the stairs and saw that it was one of the many students; at least one of the nice ones it seems.
"Hello Trini." Milo greeted kindly. "Oh this? It's a crystal of some sort but I'm having a hard time pinpointing just what kind, I woke up with this two months ago and I haven't been able to recall anything about it but I'm sure I will with time."
When offered a bit of candy, Milo shook his head. While he did like the offer it seemed best to just let Trini keep it, she might've brought that for herself or someone given it to her.
"No thank you Trini." Milo added. "Shouldn't you be heading home or to play with your friends?"

Trini listened with full attention while Milo spoke of the crystal. She thought the thing was amazing. She had never seen anything like it. Then again, it seemed like she hadn't seen much of anything other than what she saw everyday. She knew about things, but hadn't recalled seeing them. Life could we weird sometimes.
"Maybe someone you live with gave it to you so that you would be surprised when you woke up," she said. "Mom did that for me one time. I woke up and she had a brand new bracelet on the dresser for me. Wanna see it?" She then took it out of her bag. "It's a charm bracelet, and mom says if I do my chores and get good grades, I can add pieces to it every month."
Trini nodded when Milo asked if she should be heading home.
"Yeah, I guess so," she said. She then turned and began to head out. However, she thought about something and then turned and looked at Milo. "Milo, you could come with me. You always seem to be so lonely. It's not right that you don't have fun too.

"Sure." Milo agreed, listening to Trini's words and turning his gaze to the bracelet. "It's rather lovely, though I'm afraid I don't live with anyone. I have my grandfather but he lives alone as well and I did ask him about it, though he said he didn't give it to me from what he could remember. A very neat gift that can always be added onto, I can see that becoming a very unique bracelet."
Adding onto something was always a interesting thing. It was a nice concept too, in a way you were writing down your life to remember the things you wanted to. A charm bracelet was just like that.
"Have a good night Trini." Milo said, he turned his gaze back down to the crystal before he put it around his neck.
Course he hadn't expected what she said next. Come with her? But...didn't she have any friends to hang around with instead? It was clear he was surprised.
"R...Really?" Milo asked. "But don't you want to play with your friends? I mean it's a nice offer and really...one I've never really had."

Trini wished she could come up with another guess as to why Milo got the crystal out of nowhere, but she had nothing. Weird things like that seemed to happen around here. Something sort of like it was happening with Trini. She had a lot of friends, but kept feeling like she was missing some friends, and some very special ones at that. She had no clue why she thought this, but she did. It even made her sort of sad at times.
"Yeah, I really like it," she said. "My mom is always doing nice things for me, and I always like to help her out. I don't ever remember having a dad, though. I guess that's a good thing, as I can't miss someone if I don't remember them." Another weird thing. And unlike the whole deal with her friends, she didn't feel like she had a father at one time.
Trini frowned a bit when Milo said he didn't have any friends. That was terrible. Everyone needed friends! She walked over and offered her hand.
"Come on," she said. "I'll show you where we explore in the village. If you'd like, I can show you where I play in the Woods too!"
