Porter, Jane [break] 22 Yrs Old & Female & Neutral [break] Played by Tori |
[attr="class","LD1container"]
[attr="class","LD1textarea"]A trip from her native England to the remote jungles of Africa would be the biggest adventure of her life, she knew that. Jane just didn’t know the extent of how different her life would become. [break][break]
The journey of a lifetime, to be sure, started with her father and a hired bodyguard to keep them safe from the strange and unknown creatures that may have investigated their presence. It was all so overwhelming and wonderful all at once! Jane didn’t know where to begin looking… until a fruit dropped onto her head, followed shortly by a young monkey. Naturally, her first instinct was to pull out her sketchbook to document the adorable little one; not only was it a passion of hers, but it was also a way to share her experiences with her friends when she arrived home. [break][break]
Unfortunately, the baby baboon wasn’t as keen on letting her keep the drawing, as he apparently found his likeness very attractive. This was a problem for Jane, who didn’t want to lose her sketches to him. This led to an entire troop of older, angrier baboons chasing after her, and Jane very likely would have been doomed were it not for a strange, flying wild man. He ended up saving her (at the expense of the infantile monkey’s picture), and after a somewhat rocky start, they formed a connection of sorts. The man, Tarzan, was wildly intrigued by the others who looked like him, and Jane and her father were fascinated by the human who had lived alongside gorillas for all of his life. [break][break]
Through the time that Jane, her father, and Clayton were there, they taught Tarzan many things about being human, and about the world he had never known. What Jane didn’t realize, however, was that Clayton had his own ideas about what to do with Tarzan. [break][break]
It was a treat for everyone on the day they got to see the gorillas that Tarzan called his family. She had a wonderful time interacting with them all, particularly the children. This was truly the experience of a lifetime! She wasn’t even sure if her friends from back home would ever believe her. She had a horrible guilt brewing when Tarzan asked her to stay behind with him and his family instead of going back to England. Her heart was torn in two, in fact, and she wished she could be in both places. [break][break]
Though eventually Tarzan decided instead to follow the Porter family back to England, it proved to be a horrible mistake. Neither Jane nor her father had pegged Clayton to be the type to murder gorillas for profit, or to keep the majestic beasts in miserably small cages, but that was exactly what happened the moment they set foot on the ship. Luckily, they were able to get back to shore in time to save all the gorillas(except Kerchak). [break][break]
After all of the adventures and experiences they shared, it truly was time to return to England, and the Porters were well on their way back to the ship (free of the ambush this time). Jane had a moment of weakness, however, and soon found herself on the shores of her new home, the mysterious jungles of Africa. Her father stayed behind with her, and together with Tarzan’s family of gorillas, a new life began. They spent many happy years together. [break][break]
One day, though, Jane woke up to find herself in a new world once again, one that wasn’t familiar at all.
She felt like something was missing, and indeed, her very memories of her life had disappeared. All that remained was a sense of who she once was. [break][break]
Though memories of distant times have vanished, Jane still has many of her quirks from before. She tends to be very chatty, particularly if she’s nervous or in a less than ideal situation. In those times especially, she usually will vocalize most of the thoughts going through her mind in a running commentary. Some find it endearing, but others find it somewhat annoying. [break][break]
Jane is a very talented artist, though she usually just enjoys doing quick sketches to keep her skills sharp. It wouldn’t do to let her abilities go to waste! She has a soft spot for animals in that regard, and she has pages and pages of them, furry, feathered or scaled creatures alike. When she decides to take something further than just pencil or pen lines on a piece of paper, her preferred medium is paint. She just feels that the whole process is messy and time-consuming, and should only be spent on something truly worth it. [break][break]
Jane spends a lot of her efforts trying to conform to a societal norm in how she acts and dresses. Sometimes, though, she’ll break character and do something outside of her comfort zone (whether it’s out of necessity or not). She’s a people-pleaser, though, and will do as much as she can to make sure she’s looked at with approval by others.
