[attr="class","LD1textarea"] When you think of the Jabberwock, you think big, mean, snarly dragon, right? That's kind of a misconception. Kind of. Unlike most dragons, the Jabberwock isn't a bumbling idiot who just swings his weight around. Talon is incredibly deceptive, often using his wit rather than his weight to get things done. He is, of course, aggressive in what he wants and how he gets it, but he finds that he attracts more flies with honey than vinegar, so to speak. Talon is a charmer, preferring his acquaintances to not even know that they've been deceived. If you can get past his manipulative tendencies, however, he is loyal, almost to a fault (perhaps from serving under the Queen for so long), and extremely protective. He doesn't hide either of these traits either, but he will most certainly let you know when you've crossed the line. With the closest of his friends, Talon has been known to have a bit of a temper from all the bottled up aggression he keeps tucked away, though he releases it mostly through passive aggression than through physical or verbal assault. He likes to keep a cool head on his shoulders, after all.

Before he was made human, Talon's sole purpose was championing the Red Queen, though there was hardly any championing to do. No one really opposed the Red Queen. Especially since they knew she controlled a powerful dragon--as if the beheadings weren't enough to deter them. Despite his memory being erased, Talon still has a tendency to be guarded about his neck and jugular and just everything in that general vicinity. Touching his neck is a pretty good way to end up on the ground. If you're into that, I guess. After the Curse, Talon found liberation in Wonderland, where he could safely become his own person (not that he knew any differently). He found himself drawn to people, in both good and bad ways, but mostly because he saw in them personal gain. There were a lot of new things Talon seemed to like--talking (though not totally new) a lot, being a not-huge-scary monster and instead being a scary-cute but approachable monster, and having opposable thumbs. But again, he doesn't know any differently. He does really like talking, though.

Because Talon became so adept at his people skills, he naturally took up being a messenger, a bearer of great burdens to be sure. However, it allows him to travel and meet all sorts of creatures and humanoids alike and being a messenger also makes for some delicious blackmail. He really loves his job but sometimes he thinks it'd be easier if he had wings! He is thoroughly devoted to it, though, just as he was devoted to the Red Queen, so you can be sure your message will arrive (though maybe not without some bribery first). Although not usually outwardly aggressive, Talon is not afraid to trample someone, even a close friend, who bars him from his duties. Or from anything he's passionate about. After all, Talon is, ultimately, out for himself. "But maybe he can change!" No. Talon might think twice about what he's doing or feel guilty about it later, but he is hardwired to get his way, even if he has to one day climb out of his grave to do so.
[break][break]
In short, Talon is the Jabberwock at heart and will always be a little feral, something a beast of fang and claw can't easily shake. And a predator like Talon takes what he wants. It wasn't until he became human and gained some understanding of morals that he began to feel that tightening in his chest for the first time.
