[attr="class","LD1textarea"] “Clopin will tell you.” Before the Curse, Clopin was a man of great importance. Ah, well, he’d fancy himself as such since he was the leader of gypsies in Paris and helped to protect their secret headquarters, the Court of Miracles. So, perhaps it was only in the eyes of his own people that he had much important but he was certainly a nuisance to some of the more… righteous figures in the city. He was a man with many connections (although those many were all more than likely considered shady) and so he knew much of what was going on and just as much about the backgrounds of those around him. Being something of a criminal meant that he had to be sure to watch his back and be one step ahead, didn’t it? Oh, but things did not always work out for Clopin and there was at least one instance in which he found his precious home, the Court of Miracles, filled with guards who were led by a man who wanted to rid the city of Clopin’s kind.

But those are all far off memories now. Actually, they aren’t memories at all since Clopin hasn’t got them anymore! Finding himself in Wonderland was certainly unexpected, however what was he supposed to expect without a memory? He still found himself fitting into the kind of crowd that he had before – the criminals, ruffians, and their ilk. But it has been thanks to his previous years in the streets of Paris that Clopin still has his knack for magic tricks, performance, and acrobatics. These things have helped to keep him from being a simple beggar in the streets. Clopin instead is something more of an entertainer or jester. Clopin will more than likely be found giving different performances in the streets since he hasn't really got anything else going for him at the moment. He does hope that with some time that he will find himself with more opportunities through new connections and information.

“We find you totally innocent, which is the worst crime of all.” Even before the Curse people were probably suspicious of how well balanced Clopin’s inner workings were. His sanity is sometimes a little bit questionable, but this may be because of his macabre sense of humor and his uncanny lightheartedness that appears at the most inappropriate of times. When he’d been the leader of the gypsies he had been fiercely protective of them and the Court of Miracles, even willing to hang a few trespassers or spies to keep them hidden. This makes his morality quite… questionable. However, it is safe to bet that since his memories have left him Clopin is very much an opportunist allowing himself to sway from one side to the other so long as it suits him. He does prefer being on the more ambiguous side rather than picking between good and bad.

Clopin is a man of theatrical talents. He can often find a way to attract a crowd and grab their attention. He takes quite a lot of enjoyment out of storytelling He is without a doubt an outgoing fellow and unafraid of making conversation with (or without) anyone around him. For the most part, he comes off as very silly and childlike. He will often seemingly throw himself into risky situations, but usually he’s thought of a way to keep himself one step ahead. And if he hasn’t and his caught then do expect him to be very annoyed about this. He’d prefer to make a fool out of someone else rather than himself, but he doesn’t mind acting the fool. It is not all that uncommon for Clopin to misjudge a person though and more often than not he’ll feel like you’re a threat rather than an ally. But they usually both get treated just about the same.
