(The Jungles Of The Enchanted World) To those creatures he protected, the magical being known as Shere Khan was loved and respected. He had earned that respect. In the darkest of times, he had watched over them and ensured their survival. The jungles thrived under his watch. However, Khan could not be everywhere. And he was distracted by other matters when a great wrong had happened to the Jungle. While Shere Khan was away at Pride Rock to meet with the Lion King Mufasa, humans had gone into the jungle and hunted those he watched over. They had destroyed the plantlife as well. All in all, they had made the jungles a dangerous place to live. When Khan returned, his wrath was great. Many of the humans who wronged his jungle were caught and punished. However, their leader, a man simply known as "The Hunter", escaped to Pride Rock. Khan asked his friend Mufasa for aid, but the Lion King refused to kill another out of revenge, nor would he allow Shere Khan to commit the act in Mufasa's kingdom. In desperation to ensure the Hunter was no longer a threat to his domain, Khan turned to one he didn't wish to... but felt he had to. Shere Khan knew that Mufasa's brother, Scar, was quite a different beast from the Lion King. He saw a viciousness... even a wickedness in that lion. He did not want to deal with Scar, but he knew if he did so, Scar would probably grant his request... for a price... But the deed had to be done. On this occasion, Shere Khan took his tiger form and awaited his "guest". Hopefully the meeting would be short and the nasty business swiftly taken care of. REHEMA JELANI SCAR

It was never too early to act as a leader and to make alliances on the behalf of his people. Scar would not deny help from anyone just yet. His fledgling royal supportive team needed true help. The hyenas were a brute force with no tactical advantage. While he did enjoy being significantly smarter than his privates, it would be a nice change of pace to discuss his plans with an individual whose long term goals did not consist of “what I’m going to eat or rut tonight”. They were as stupid as they were expendable. Shere Khan was not. He could not lose this chance to gain a valuable advisor.
He walked to the meeting place, ignoring the fact that the slightest mistake could ruin things for him. He strutted with all the pomp and circumstance of a king despite the fact that he was not even a prince anymore. He saw the tiger before him, taking in the figure’s aura of power. He bowed his head in respect, knowing that soon he would be a king and demand reverence of his own. “Shere Khan, it is good to see you…” He allowed his self confidence to slide in, letting his guard fall down.
“I understand that you have a problem with a hunter, something that we have not seen in our lands for quite some time.” He said, going right into the conversation at hand. The balance in the Pridelands have been ongoing for as long as he could remember. But he knew that a single powerful addition to the ecosystem could disrupt the fragile balance. This hunter disrespected Shere Khan’s people and death was warranted.

Shere Khan watched as Scar made his way toward him. He did not like the lion. He did not trust him either. He did not like having to do this. Such an alliance could hurt his friendship with Mufasa, and affect the centuries-long peace between his Jungle and Pride Rock. But what had to be done had to be done. He would have to worry about the consequences later. "Scar..." nodded Shere Khan. He wasn't going to tell Scar that it was good to see him too. Khan was an honest creature, and do not speak idly even when he needed help from someone. "I take no pleasure in what I am about to... ask of you. Neverthless, know that I recognize that those of your... breed have a price. I am willing to pay it."
Scar knew what the issue was. Word of the Hunter had traveled past then. Khan sighed and seated himself. "Mufasa is not willing to... rid our lands of the Hunter, as it would be a act of revenge." he said. "But he must be... dealt with. I will not have centuries of order in my Jungle... come to an end."(Total Alan Rickman voice for the win, lol) REHEMA JELANI SCAR

Scar would not say that he was surprised by Shere Khan's reaction to him. The man himself could not be read easily despite the straightforward method of dealing with things. Scar figured that if pleasantries were useful in this scenario, he would no longer indulge in them. He looked down at his front left paw. He moved it up further so he could inspect his nails nonchalantly. It was only when the word "breed" left Shere Khan's mouth that Scar looked away. His eyes narrowed as his lips curled over his fangs. "What does it say of my breed when the likes of you are coming to me for help?"
"You must be very mistaken if you think that I carry out others' dirty work," Scar said, now fully insulted. He puffed his chest, subconsciously trying to mimic the stance of his older, bigger brother. He had to reestablish that he was the one who held the fate of the jungle. He was not going to take any disrespect from Shere Khan, no matter who he was to anyone. "Why would I risk the wrath of my brother to kill a hunter that is bothering you and your people? What do I get out of it?" He was putting on his harsh front. He had to.

Khan knew Scar would relish in this, and would love the fact that Khan had to come to him. And Scar was right. By Khan coming to Scar for aid, it showed a great deal of desperation and personality traits that were normally not part of Khan's nature. However, he would not stand back and watch Scar bare his fangs at him. Khan narrowed his eyes as well. "We have not made our bargain... yet, Scar," he said. "And until we do... remember just who's... domain... you are standing in."Khan then sighed and listened as Scar said he was mistaken about the lion carrying out one's dirty work. But then Scar got to the point of it. He did as Khan predicted he would. In order for Shere Khan to get what he wanted, he had to reward Scar handsomely. And it didn't take a brilliant mind to realize that one could get most anything from a being as powerful as Shere Khan when the tiger/man needed a favor. Shere Khan looked at Scar coldly again, but then frowned, showing eyes of regret. "Name your price,... Scar," he said. His voice matched the look in his eyes. However, he meant what he said earlier. If he could not bargain with Scar, he would quickly show the lion the consequences of upsetting him on his domain. But Khan doubted Scar would not come up with something for Khan to reward him with. Part of him told Khan it might to have been best to leave the Hunter be, but then he felt to do so would endanger further inhabitants of his jungle and the neighboring ones. REHEMA JELANI SCAR

He had insulted the tiger and Scar could not help but feel a foolish sense of pleasure at that. At the very least he had made an impression, given off the mark (at least he thought he did) that it was a great inconvenience to himself to help Khan out. It would be useful in bargaining later. As Scar was reminded that he was indeed snapping at the man in his own territory, he bowed his head in mock apology. He was far too prideful for his own good, a product of being the younger, overlooked brother in the family.
Scar realized that he had gotten away with his attitude and he was gleeful as he thought over the power he now held over Shere Khan, one of the most powerful beings he had ever encountered. “A price…” He purred out. He would have circled the tiger as though he was prey but Scar knew that would go too far and that intimidation tactic was best saved for other, lesser things he would come across. “One of these days…I will call upon you for a favor…And you must swear on your honor that you will carry out that favor no matter what it may be…”
“A gentleman’s agreement…Give this to me and this hunter will be ripped into shreds…He will never harm another and he will be a lesson to any other creature that would come into our homes and hurt us…” Scar said, knowing this would have to be a promise he would have to go through if he wanted Shere Khan’s allegiance.

Khan watched as Scar bowed his head in apology. It hardly looked legitimate, but Khan would accept it for now. It didn't matter in the grand scheme of things after all. As much as he hated the idea of it, he needed to be on Scar's good side. If not, no one else would bring the Jungle justice for the Hunter's crimes. Khan sighed and allowed the deal to carry on. Now came the Price. He expected Scar to ask the world of him. He could give the lion most anything after all. However, instead Scar was cryptic. A mysterious favor for later... and who knew what it would be. He closed his eyes and nodded. "Very well... Scar," he said. A gentleman's agreement? What a way to put it. Scar was far from gentle, and the same could be said about Khan. He peered and Scar and nodded again. "Your price will be paid...Scar," he said. "Now fulfill your end of the bargain." Khan then turned to walk away, but turned back again. "He made my Jungle... suffer. Make him... suffer as well."REHEMA JELANI SCAR
