The bank had closed for the evening. However, as far as Rattshire was concerned, business was far from over. He had a very special meeting to conduct, one his employees didn't need to walk in on. In fact, there was only two others there, and they were his security guards. They were ordered to let no one into the bank... aside from one person... DAMIAN ARGUS GREENE. Rattshire had recently taken a great interest in Damian's business. He had not gone to said place of business himself, but he had sent some of his... associates there to look around. He very much enjoyed their report when they returned. And he also an opportunity for considerable financial gain. So now he sat at his desk and waited. In front of him was his dinner, a plate with expensive cheese, crackers, and fruit. Along with it was a glass of wine. He dined away and as he awaited word from his security that Damian was present. He had arranged a certain time for the two to meet, and he hoped Damian wouldn't be terribly late. Should that happen, Rattshire would have to resort to taking legal action to put a scare in the man, and for this little encounter, the last thing he wanted to do was anything legal.

Damian had been finishing up looking over the work done on the new legitimate looking business where he would run the black market from now on when he got a summons from a most interesting person. Mr. Rattshire was the head of the bank in town, and though he had not officially met the man he recognised the name as one of his more important and more discreet clientel. As such he decided it would be worth his while to meet with the man.
Just a few moments before the scheduled time he approached the bank doors, his two lackeys who often could be found at his side trailing on either side of him. "Wait out here, keep an eye on things." he said to them when the guards told him that only he could go in. He walked in following a guard to the room that Rattshire was in, and after a brief announcement from the guard he walked into the room.
He looked around the room, assessing the situation before walking up to the table. "Mr. Vincent Vermanas Rattshire, a pleasure to finally meet you in person." he said with a smile. "To what do I owe this invitation?" he asked. In this line of business you did not know if someone was wanting to set up a deal with you or ambush you and attack you, so he was being cautious.

As Damian entered and asked about why he was invited, a rather large, black spider crawled near him. Vincent smiled and rose, stepping over and allowing the spider to crawl on his hand. "Don't mind Buttercup," he said. "She's quite harmless... unless provoked." He then looked at his pet. "Is daddy's little baby hungry? Daddy had baby's din-din right here, but daddy's little girl must go back to her home." He then placed the spider in her tank and revealed a fat, white mouse from a box. Ha placed the mouse inside the tank and smiled. "There, have your din-din, angel."He then looked at Damian again. "Now then, do be seated, good sir," he said. "I promise you that this won't take very long." Rattshire then seated himself behind his desk and sipped his wine. " I need to begin by addressing a recent visit a few of my associates made to your place of business. While there, they discovered some rather questionable practices transpired. I do hope my associate was not engaging in fibery. I do so detest dishonesty from my employees. I was quite curious about what you had to say on the matter and if we could come to a suitable solution to this little dilemma."DAMIAN ARGUS GREENE

Damian raised an eyebrow at the spider as he watched it crawl onto Rattshire's hand. Damian was slightly disgusted by the thing, mostly because something about it reminded him of his dreams and he loathed the dreams so did not want to be reminded. But he couldn't just kill the spider with out severly burning some bridges so he just turned his attention back to Rattshire. "Excuse me." he said politely as he sat down across the table.
"Some rather questionable practices? I'm afraid you'll have to be more specific. You see questionable practices have a different definition for different people." he said shrugging.
"No reason to be dishonest here, we are both upstanding businessmen after all." he said with a smirk.

In the tank behind the now seated Rattshire, Buttercup was slowly approaching her prey, prepared to give it the bite that would ensure a painless demise once the venom numbed the mouse. Meanwhile, Rattshire continued with his own dinner, enjoying a cracker with some jam and seemingly having no desire to offer his guest anything. "I don't need to specify, sir," he said to Dag once he washed down his cracker with some wine. "You are a wise fellow and are well aware of what you've been doing... seemingly behind the back of the general populace."Rattshire nodded when Dag said there was no reason to be dishonest and that they were upstanding businessmen. "No reason to be dishonest at all," he said. "And since we are upstanding businessmen, I doubt you'll be opposed to some negotiating. So here's my offer, Mr. Greene... or may I call you Damian? I'm giving you two options, sir. The first is rather unpleasant- it has me using my considerable influence with the queen to shut your business down permanently and have you thrown into prison. You'll no doubt be released at some point... probably in your old age, and what a cold world it will be to find yourself feeble and penniless once that occurs. The second option might be more to your liking. I ensure your business continues to thrive and profit... perhaps even give you a few new eager and wealthy patrons. In return, I get a proverbial slice of the cheese." He then picked up a cheese slice and bit into it. "So... what say you, sir?"DAMIAN ARGUS GREENE
