[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] HONOR TO US ALL [attr="class","next"]Mulan adjusted the sword’s held in her hand. She tightened and then loosened her grip before she lunched forward, plunging the blade into the scarecrow in the middle of the field. Things in Wonderland felt much as they had before and yet, so much had changed. Another jab to the left of the scarecrow and a final spin as she took off the poor thing’s head. She knelt, stabbing her sword into the ground as she looked at the decapitated scarecrow. “Ancestors, give me strength.” She breathed, reaching up to tuck a piece of her stray hair behind her ear. She needs guidance. She needed something. Shang didn’t remember…Mushu didn’t remember…even Little Brother was here some where, but he too, did not remember. It was becoming a daunting task for Mulan to live each day as if nothing was wrong. That was part of the reason that she had chosen to enter the Queen’s guard under her alias Ping. Ping was proud and crass — Ping wasn’t Mulan. He wasn’t lost in a world in which he didn’t belong…no, he had always not belonged. There was a certain amount of comfort in the costume. Comfort that she couldn’t find otherwise. Mulan finally stood, tightening the short bun in which her hair had been thrown into before she grabbed the sword from the ground and slammed it into her belted sheath. She was on assignment, something simple. Take care of the wolves in the forest. Make sure that they weren’t going too close to the village. Some of the villagers had grown wary of them as of late, so it was Mulan’s job to mark their territory. The dark haired girl yanked on her socks, pulling them up to the bottom of the men’s trousers she was wearing as she walked through the wood. The sun was beginning to set, but there was still light left. To her right she heard it, the sound of a wolf…or at least what she thought was a wolf. Very slowly, she drew her sword from the sheath again and held it out with great strength. “Show yourself, wolf!” She said, her eyes following the sound of snapping twig leaves as they moved through the forest.
NOTES Ping is going to save our darling Lilo from some wolves... and accidentally win her affections [newclass=.next::-webkit-scrollbar]width: 5px;[/newclass][newclass=.next::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb]background: #000;[/newclass]

Lilo's life revolved around the dance studio. She kept it clean, she kept it inviting, and she advertised it like crazy around school. Dancing was a way of life for Lilo, it was in her blood and she could feel it in every step. After the floors were swept to perfection- okay not perfection, Lilo might have gotten a little lazy halfway through- she moved on to her new project.
The girl had spent time by the Pool of Tears a few days before and discovered some trees that had bigger leaves. The flower crown she made from them were ever so familiar to her and she determined to make more. She proceeded to collect more of them and take them back to the studio for another day. Today she had spent her whole day making crowns, bracelets, and ankle bracelets out of different sized leaves. Before she knew it, the day was almost over.
Lilo sat criss-cross on the floor of her studio, her lap covered in leaves as she pinned some into crowns. When she looked down upon her lap she gasped loudly, why didn't she think of making grass skirts sooner? The young girl looked around at all of the leaves, there was no way she enough to make more than one skirt. Her eyes glanced to the windows- there was still enough sunlight for her to gather more. She stood up, allowing the leaves from her lap to fall to the floor as she picked up her bag and darted out of her dance studio.
Lilo let her feet take her to the forest, her heart pounding in excitement over a new project. She ran and ran until it occurred to her that she no longer knew where she was. The trees were not the same here and she had lost the pathway. Lilo came to an abrupt stop but it wasn't because she was lost. Lilo had wandered on to a wolf's path and it didn't seem so thrilled about it either. The second it bared its teeth at her Lilo screamed.
Okay, a scream wasn't a good idea.
The wolf jumped towards her and Lilo's fight or flight instincts kicked in. Once again she was running through the forest, this time for her life. The girl ran through a bush and nearly ran right into a man standing with his sword out. Lilo let out a shriek as she quickly hid behind the stranger.
"It's a wolf! He's going to eat me! It's a wolf! Get 'em!"

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] HONOR TO US ALL [attr="class","next"] “Not a wolf!” Mulan yelled as a petite girl burst through the vines and branches and headed straight toward the point of her sword. Immediately, the Chinese warrior pulled a hard left, turned and sheathed the sword, trying to figure out just what was going on. Where was the wolf that she had been tracking? Surely she hadn’t confused a four legged creature’s tracks for that of the small little girl that was now tucking her way behind her. “What are you doing out here? You’ll get yourself hurt!” Mulan froze when she heard what the girl was saying. She hadn’t made a mistake, the wolf was still coming this way. Mulan pulled the sword from the sheath again, raising it level with the back of her armored forearm as she lowered her stance to provide more defense. “Just…stay….calm…” Mulan breathed as she watched the rustling branches in front of them. She could hear the growling, low and guttural. The wolf was angry — they had stepped into its territory, this girl especially. The wolf appeared to their right and Mulan immediately shifted her body between the animal and the girl’s, holding the sword steady. “I don’t want to hurt you!” She warned, but did not back down. If it was a choice between nicking the wolf or letting it have the girl, she would pick attacking the animal. Growling and snapping, the wolf took two more paces forward before Mulan lunged. She didn’t make contact, but the animal seemed spooked as it ran off back into the wooded area. A retreat. “That’s not the last of them. Sounds like more. We should head back before the sun sets.” A howl rang through the woods. Mulan sheathed her sword for the third time and wiped her forehead with the back of her hand before turning around and facing the woman who had been hiding behind her for cover. “Are you…” Her voice was too high to be a man’s. Instantly, she coughed and lowered it an octave. “Are you alright, Miss?”

Wolves were no joke, especially to a barely 5 foot girl who had no way of protecting herself. Thankfully she was an active little thing with great endurance otherwise she would have been dinner. Lilo frantically hid behind the warrior who was now questioning her for being in the forest. The girl kept herself low as she stayed behind the tall person, "I was just collecting leaves!" she exclaimed defensively.
As Lilo peered around her human shield, the wolf emerged from the bush and she cowered in fear once again. The warrior on the other hand was quite the opposite of Lilo. Lilo was like a child, hiding behind her guardian whereas the warrior stood in defense. He was brave and Lilo was lucky she had come across the warrior. As the wolf made deep growling noises, Lilo peered around the warrior and helplessly looked on but this time she did not scream at the face of the animal. She had learned her lesson. Screaming only made things worse.
As the wolf took just a couple steps closer the warrior lunged and Lilo was left gripping her bag. She was not only worried for her safety but of that of the warrior's. The lung seemed to work since the wolf was now high-tailing it back to the bushes. Lilo had held her breath the moment the warrior lunged towards the wolf and although the wolf was now gone, Lilo was still holding her breathe. She had never been so afraid in her life, that she could remember anyways.
"Sounds like more." Lilo quickly let out her breath before inhaling the next breath, holding it as well. More? More wolves? Why in the world did she decide to come out at this time? This was such a bad idea. The howls from a far only made Lilo more afraid, she had no idea how to protect herself. Lilo was lucky she had stumbled about the warrior when she did.
The small girl was still suffering from fright, her knees were locked and her face read petrified. That is until the warrior turned to her. The warrior's mouth moved slowly in Lilo's mind as she stared right at him. He was.. Oh my goodness, he was incredibly attractive.
"Uhh.." Lilo let out the breath that she had been keeping in her mind drawing a complete blank. Oh no, I bet I look so stupid. Quick, say something! Anything! She screamed to herself before trying to form a word instead of a noise. "You.. Are so hot."
