Before the curse, Mickey Mouse was a certifiable legend. He was not only known in his world, but had been heard of in many worlds. From humble beginnings, he rose to be an iconic figure who watched over many worlds from a mysterious place known as the Magic Kingdom. There were very few places where people and creatures alike had not heard the name of this famous mouse. It was even believed that he was heard of in a world where magic seemingly did not exist. His beloved Minnie Mouse, as well as his friends Donald Duck, Daisy Duck Goofy, and Pluto were also quite famous throughout the worlds.[break][break]
But Mickey did not gain this fame overnight, nor did he gain it by standing around and doing nothing. Mickey was a mouse who wanted to leave his humble home and go out and explore not only his worlds but others. He was halted from this dream in the beginning though, as he found himself working on a Steamboat. Though his name was Mickey, the captain called him Willy. This, according to the captain, was due to the fact that every steamboat engineer before him was named Willy. Mickey was sure that Willy wasn't their names either, aside from perhaps the first one. Still, he worked hard to move closer and closer to his dream of exploration.[break][break]
One day Mickey found an odd looking hat outside his little home. It was large, blue, and had stars on it. He placed it on out of curiosity and it suddenly transported him to the home of a sorcerer, who believed Mickey was meant to be his apprentice. Mickey tried to do well, and also tried to learn magic whenever he could. However, most of the time, he found himself cleaning the sorcerer's castle. It was hard and tiring work, and Mickey, young and foolish, decided one day that he would make it easy on himself and use magic to make the broomsticks clean the castle themselves. This backfired when the broomsticks took on a life of their own. Mickey was nearly done for, but the sorcerer arrived in time to stop the spell. Mickey was kicked out of the castle, but the sorcerer did allow him to keep the magic hat. Mickey found he could use it to travel from world to world, and was also able to bring his friends along. With them, he had a series of great adventures, ones that made him quite famous... and then... legendary. Soon he was invited to live in the fabled Magic Kingdom, a place where he could watch over all the different worlds.[break][break]
The Curse transported Mickey to Wonderland, where he went from legend and icon to virtual unknown. He became a young man named William Michael Desnee. He, along with a lovely girl named Minerva, ran a place called the Magic Kingdom Putt Putt, a place with not only Putt-Putt Golf, but various other attractions and games. It's a place for people to forget their troubles and have fun.[break][break]
William is much like Mickey Mouse was. He's is friendly, fun to be around, and has a desire for adventures. He loves to explore Wonderland, though he wishes he could go far beyond Wonderland's borders and see what is out there. However, he knows that, at least for now, he cannot, and he does not have any of his memories to know the magic it would take to pull off such a feat. He is still happy, especially when he is around Minerva. If there is one thing the Curse hasn't taken away, it's their bond.
