Thunder rocked through the dark sky, has Robin muddled through the woods, one hand on his now pulsating wound, his other hand on his awaiting dagger. After running into Easter, Robin had managed to get his wound taken care of, but of course he luck had run out when he did reach the market only to be met with stubborn, angry dealers. Usually the men were relaxed, offered Robin the best they could manage before sending him off without a second glance-but today was different. They were tense, and paranoid, and when Robin demanded for the watch, the thug snapped, and rocketed off punches. It wasn't long before Robin was fighting him in the alley, and sending him down to the floor with a hard kick to the jaw. Except, the man had scratched at his wound, causing it to bleed and burn. Now as he walked through the woods, the pain only grew, making Robin wish he would just go home and die instead of making his way to Helen. Oh Helen. A mad woman she would be. Robin remembers her exact words, or something like that. 'Don't go disappearing'. And what did he do? Disappear. He wish he could say it wasn't his fault, but it was. He felt like he had rushed her, betrayed Mary. He felt like some stupid teenager falling in love when in reality he was falling into a trap. Robin didn't want to believe that was the case. Making his way through the last of the trees, Robin spit out the rain water that had collected, and shook his hair, which had grown to now fall over his eyes in messy curls, as he stood in front of the house. Robin huffed, his grip tightening on his wound with a hiss, something to keep him in check before shuffling his way to the large, marble door. He didn't really care if the brothers were home or not. He didn't really know why he was there in the first place. But he was. And there was no point of going back now. Robin knocked. Tag: HELEN KATRINA SAVAGE

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] HIDE YOUR LOVE AWAY [attr="class","next"] The party was a distraction, nothing more. As Helen looked from guest to guest, she felt nothing but the dullest sense of…amusement. Perhaps that was the best way to put it. She was amused that they were all so carefree when she was a bundle of nervous energy. The knock on the door drew her out of her own thoughts. Wrapping her fur stole around her body, she crossed into the foyer and threw it open, anticipating John…but what she got was something different entirely. Soaking wet, standing on her front porch was Robin. “Helen?” Someone was calling her back to the party. She hesitated, contemplated closing the door on his face. She didn’t do the woe-begotten romance — she didn’t do romance in general. In fact, she didn’t want a boyfriend…she had wanted a distraction. And Robin had disappeared, making him not a very good distraction. As she gripped the door and pushed it closed a few inches, she realized he was holding a wound. “Dammit.” She breathed before reaching out and grabbing his arm, yanking him inside. “What did you do?” She hissed, eyes constantly jerking to look and make sure no one from the party had trickled over into the foyer. “You disappear for another two weeks and then…” She ran her hands through her wavy blonde hair, pushing it away from her face in frustration. “Helen?” The voice called again. She had made up her mind. Helen pointed to the stairs with dangerous eyes and then went back to the party. For a few moments, she sat amongst her ‘friends,’ feeling stunned. She had an injured convict in her bedroom and a housefull of drunk party guests. “I feel ill.” She mentioned off-hand to John. He put his hand on her forehead and told her she was just fine. “No, I’m sick.” She said, straightening her back as she glared at everyone. They seemed rather shocked. “I think the party is over.” It didn’t take long for them to gather up their furs and gold and spirits and head out. John lingered for a few moments, but Helen pushed him out with a shove and slammed the door. She took the stairs two at a time before throwing open her bedroom door. “ Robin Hood, you complete ass hole! I hope you’re dying because that will be the only excuse I’ll accept!” She growled, careful not to be too loud as her windows were slightly open.

Instead of an empty house, like Robin had anticipated, he was hit with the site of various foods, champagne, and did he mention fur coats? How many fur coats did a person need. But then there was Helen. Golden Hair that fell to the slope of her neck, furious blue eyes. Even angry she was still beautiful. But then she was pushing him up the stairs, and she was gone. As he walked, he noticed some fur coats lying around on the back of furniture. Robin stopped, reaching out to grab a coat, only for him to realize he used his bad arm, and a wave of pain to shoot through him. Biting his lip, Robin hobbled up the stairs and away from the coats. It was a few minutes later, as he sat in Helen's room, that he heard the music stop, and the sound of people moving out the door. Robin moved to the window to watch. This was Helen's crowd. Old, bitter, but rich. What kind of fun could you have with them? Robin scoffed, his dark eyes landing on the last man leaving. Curly hair, probably the most extravagant jewelry out of them all. He was young, close to Robin's age. He looked like he wanted to come back inside. Robin huffed, the thought of someone else with Helen was not pleasing. He was probably some jerk anyway. "Well, if the Queen's guards weren't persistent on catching me, maybe I could of visited you earlier!" He shouted back, the wound on his arm scorching as time went on. "And I just might be, if I don't get some help!" Tag: HELEN KATRINA SAVAGE

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] HIDE YOUR LOVE AWAY [attr="class","next"] “You think I’m going to patch you up because you showed up at my doorstep like a sad little puppy?” Helen asked, shutting the door behind her as she walked into her bedroom. She was tempted to go to him, to figure out what was wrong. But she was tired of him disappearing. It was hard enough that they had to meet in secret, but even worse was that she had to wait for him to show up at her doorstep or sweep in through her window in the middle of the night. There were no guarantees. You didn’t want a boyfriend, remember? Helen reminded herself as she walked into the ensuite bathroom and shed her layers, replacing them with the robe that was tucked behind the door. They had kissed — it had meant nothing more. A kiss. When she returned to her bedroom, she pretended to be surprised that Robin was still there. She was going to stand there staring at him, but her conscious finally got the best of her. Crawling across her bed, she sat in front of him as he stood next to her bed, taking his arm into her hands. The wound was hot — it had been reopened and was verging on infection. Quietly, she examined the skin. She could wash it, compress it, take care of it. But it wouldn’t satiate her. “What did you do, soldier?” She asked, a certain amount of tenderness creeping into her voice. She tried to stay pragmatic and calculated, but with Robin, it was difficult. She saw something in him that she didn’t see in many people. And the way that he looked at her…slowly, her eyes found his as she realized that she was hurt that he kept disappearing on her.

Robin flinched at the sound of the door shutting, before he was left with an angry woman, and a lot of unspoken words. Robin's eyes softened, searching her seeming hard gaze as her fingers came to rest on his tender skin, cooling the heat. "I did what I always do, Helen. My job." He responded, meaning for it to come out as a joke, but instead his voice was soft, almost endearing. It was also tired. Robin opened his mouth to speak, wanting to explain how Mary came to visit him. And how the more time passed, the more a new blonde was taking Mary's place in his head. He wanted to say that he was scared to come back. To start something that could destroy both of them before it's over. Robin was scared. But he was sorry. "I'm sorry, Helen." He murmured, tendrils of brown hair falling over his freckled nose as his uninjured hand rose to cup Helen's cheek, his thumb running over the smallest mole along his face. "I'm sorry." He repeated, his voice deeper, but the emotion rawer then the scars that seem to cover the archer, and make him into the thing he was today. It was real emotion. It was something Robin was never ready for. Tag: HELEN KATRINA SAVAGE

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] HIDE YOUR LOVE AWAY [attr="class","next"] “Your job.” Helen repeated as she looked up at him, her hands still softly running over the stubble on his chin. There was a silence between them — but not one that felt uncomfortable for Helen. She had grown used to being around him. He hid things, as most of them did…her included. Hiding things was just a part of who they were. She understood. They came from two different worlds and yet, she felt they were so much the same. I’m sorry, Helen. I’m sorry.Helen didn’t know what to say. She wasn’t sure how to handle the apology and for a moment she could do nothing but gape at him. She wanted to kiss him — to remember the feeling that had been haunting her for weeks, but she couldn’t. Not yet. Not when he was obviously hurt. “Don’t,” Her inner soldier training seemed to take over as she stood, facing him in her robe and then gently moved him so he could sit on her bed. She went back into the bathroom and returned with a small medical kit that she kept for emergencies. “You should be more careful. This looks like a reckless wound, Hood.” She said dryly, still trying to be angry with him but it was going rather poorly. As she began checking his wounds, she bit her tongue, trying not to say more, but she found it was hard to control. “Apology accepted.” She said at long last. “I’m sorry, too. For…flying off the handle. Unprofessional.” Professionalism had nothing to do with it. It wasn’t in her nature to say such things, but she felt the need to prove herself worthy of someone like Robin, though she would never admit it to herself. Squinting her eyes, she dabbed at the wound, trying to ebb the bleeding. “What did you do?” She was trying her hardest not to think about the lucid kisses from weeks before — trying to ignore the flipping of her stomach every time she met his brown eyes — trying to distance herself from the situation, but it seemed fruitless.

♛ Robin frowned as Helen's walls began to grow before Robin's eyes. Before he could say anything, she was pushing him back onto his bed and scurrying off. In any other occasion, this would of been exciting but not now. Not when Helen looked hurt. He hadn't meant to hurt her, he wasn't sure exactly what he was doing all together. But it most definitely wasn't hurting her. Robin sighed to himself, his brown eyes falling Helen as she returned to the bathroom with a medical kit.
The archer remained silent to Helen's scornful comment, sad brown eyes scanning hers which seemed determined not to meet his. After a long silence, when Robin was ready to cut the tension, Helen spoke before him. Boy was he glad. Robin's previously somber mood shattered, and was replaced with relief. A happy grin spread through his features. "Thank you, Helen. I won't let you down." He said with a chuckle, his body relaxing as her fingers worked the wound on his arm.
"Of course, Mrs. Savage. Your behavior is excused, but don't worry, I find a demanding woman attractive." The brunette teased with a shrug, well, one arm shrug. "As for the wound, you can thank the Queen's idiotic guard for that. Some old man who was sound asleep when I visited by the way, sent some guards after a 'rogue criminal' their words, not mine, don't ask how I know that. And then while I was heading..somewhere, I was accidentally hit by one of their lousy shots. I think he was heading for a tree or something." Robin explained with renowned spirit before shaking his head in disbelief.
"But the good news is that I survived. God knows how would the world survive without me in it?" He teased harmlessly, nudging the blonde woman with a wink. "I can think of one person who'd miss me the most." ulla

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] HIDE YOUR LOVE AWAY [attr="class","next"] Helen raised her eyebrows. She hadn’t been at the castle tonight — it was her off night, hence the party. But she had received a message about a rogue criminal that had been visiting the castle. It was only now that she had put two and two together. She listened intently as he described what had happened, only to tut quietly at the end of it all.“I’ll bet you do. I’ve always been a fan of soft spoken, rule abiding citizens for ideal mates, myself.” Helen said, pulling his sleeve up as she dabbed against the wound, eliminating some of the blood that had been pooling there. He probably needed a could stitches, something that she could do in a matter of minutes. The military training at the castle had prepared her for this, but something else in her very DNA seemed to understand combat wounds. She pulled out the needle and surgical thread. “The world would be in shambles, I’m sure.” She said. She half expected her tone to be stagnant and militaristic, but it came out light-hearted. What was he doing to her?The one woman who would miss him the most? “How is your mother?” Helen joked as she nudged him back. Normally, she would have been more aggressive with her touch, but she was still wary of the wound on his arm. It made her nervous, seeing him hurt like that — though it was not as if she would outwardly voice it. She showed her affection in strange ways, like the stitching of a wound. Her fingers were careful and steady as she started closing the wound with the thread. “Stop moving.” She commanded, but as her eyes met his, she saw the wink and felt her face grow ever so slightly hotter than it was before. Robin Hood had bewitched her in a way that most men could not even dream of. After all, Helen Savage was just as her surname suggested: brutal and dangerous. But he brought out something in her that even she couldn’t understand. “Promise you’ll pay attention when you're making your valiant get away next time.” All jokes aside, she put her hand on his cheek again as she looked at him. “I’ve…grown fond of you, Robin.”

♛ "Pfft, good hearted citizens? Where's the fun in that?" Robin scoffed, rolling his eyes for good measure. He was glad he and Helen were back to normal, well close to normal. There was still the big elephant in the room, and the fact that they both confessed a lot of things they shouldn't have last time they met in this very same room. So what were they to do now? Were they together? Was he just an elaborate bed buddy? Either one sounded nice, but he would prefer if he was a solid option.
He didn't want to share Helen. At all.
"Yeah, my Mom." Robin's previous line of thought stopped, and he instead tried to focus on the blurry image in his head of his mother. He couldn't. Robin's eyes fell into a squint, his fist balling as he tried to remember who his mother was. Why couldn't he remember? God, what was wrong with him. "I don't remember her." His body ached, and his head was beginning to hurt the more and more he tried to figure it out.
Robin was brought out of his thoughts when he heard Helen mutter those final words. She had grown fond of him. She cared. Robin grew a warm smile, his gaze falling to the floor. He was ridiculously happy. Even as he got stitches-which he hated-he was still happy. God, Helen wanted him. Robin released that for the first in a long time, that someone cared. And he cared for them in return.
Maybe things would be okay.
"I've grown fond of you too, Helen." He said, sending her a blinding smile as he met her eyes knowingly. ulla

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] HIDE YOUR LOVE AWAY [attr="class","next"] “Don’t remember mine either.” Helen said, conversationally as she stuck another stitch into his arm, fully sealing the wound. “Just Gaston and Clayton. Makes me wonder where we all came from…you know, what kind of mother pushes out three of the worst children in the universe?” Her brothers had become her rock in Wonderland. They were the reasons that she pushed herself to outwit, out charm and out manipulate everyone that she came into contact with. It was the Savage way. Or it had been until she had met Robin. Was she going soft? Surely she wasn’t. Helen bit down on her lip as she made the final loop with the needle, and secured it. Releasing the breath that she had been holding, Helen put the thread in her mouth and picked up the small pair of scissors that was in the kit. She cut the end of the thread and looked at her handy work. They were military grade stitches — you couldn’t get those at the blasted clinic those buffoons in the village had set up. He was grinning — the grin was physically taking over his face and Helen could only laugh. Something about him made her disregard what a horrible person she had been over the past five months. She had exploited peoples’ secrets and ruined their lives, but still…he made her feel as if there was something to be smiled at. “Your face’ll get stuck like that.” She said with a smirk. There was still a bit of apprehension — Helen thought back to the other night when everything had seemed so dream-like, but this was real. This was the realist thing she had felt. “So this is…are you sure you’re alright with this, soldier?”

♛ The brunette man sent the blonde girl a look of disappointment. "I hardly believe you're one of the worst children in the universe. Though I can't account for your brothers. My experiences with them haven't been too pleasant." Robin said, watching Helen snip off the thread from the needle, before turning to face her. "I don't think you'll mind my face either way." The vigilante teased with a nonchalant shrug, before letting her speak.
She seemed less sharp. Less guarded then when he first met her. But she wasn't innocent, no she was far from it. She was strong in her own way, independent, and deadly all wrapped in a pretty smile. She was something he wasn't use to. He wasn't quite sure how to handle the situation, and if he was smart he'd end it before it could go anywhere. Thankfully Robin wasn't that smart. He could take risks. Helen was the biggest risk he'd ever taken.
Had taken. The deal was done. Robin wanted Helen. He wasn't backing out now. "I'm more then alright with this, commander." Robin responded smugly, leaning back on his elbows, his eyes still washing over the blonde with a mix of admiration and something else the archer wasn't quite ready for. He wouldn't call it love. Not yet. It was fondness. Something close to it.
"Are you alright with this, Ms. Savage?" ulla

[googlefont="Open Sans Condensed:300"] HIDE YOUR LOVE AWAY [attr="class","next"] Helen found herself smiling — something she didn’t often allow. She was used to being so secure in her own guard, always keeping her head held high and her nose held even higher. But for Robin…she wanted to be something different. She wanted to prove to him that she wasn’t just a pretty face with a stone cold heart. She could be something more. She wanted to be something more. He called her commander and she felt a sense of satisfaction. It wasn’t that he was addressing her in that way, it was that he was trying to respect her…or at least, playfully address her. Her world seemed like a dream. The vigilante and the soldier. The queen of order and the king of chaos. Her eyes danced with understanding. She was more than just the woman whose house he snuck into, now. And he was more than just the bandit who had destroyed her room on his first night stealing from her. He had become an integral part of her understanding in Wonderland. A part that she didn’t want to give up. She wanted to give herself to Robin and it seemed the feeling was mutual. “More than alright,” Helen said as she ran her fingertips across his lips before he leaned back and just out of reach. Helen busied herself with putting the medical kit back in order, wiping the scissors off with antiseptic wipes and re-spooling the thread before she tucked it into the nightstand. She moved next to him, lying on her stomach and kicking her feet into the air as she stared at the slightly adjacent balcony doors. “I think I’d like to meet somewhere that didn’t include you breaking into my house, though.” She glanced over at him, tempted to kiss him, just to be sure, but she felt…timid. "Not that I particularly mind meeting you in my bedroom, Hood...but...I do have other interests."

♛ Robin listened patiently as Helen began to suggest a course of action. Once he realized what she wanted, Robin's eyebrows raised in realization, and he made a meek sound of approval. "I don't see why not, but we're gonna have to be extra careful. Your brothers would hang me like their fancy fur coats if they found out you had a lover boy. And I'm not meant to be an ornament, well at least not on the wall..." Robin explained with a small shrug, his eyes growing a pitch darker as he leaned closer to Helen, his gaze caught on Helen's lips.
One the other side of his brain, where Helen's lips were far from his attention, he began to wonder if he had multi personality disorder. It didn't make sense how he was such a different person around Helen. How he wasn't overly depressive, or how he wasn't the bitter, sober, mess he was with anyone else. He was calm, happy, flirty even. He was the man he was before Mary.
But this was a man he never met before because he's always had Mary. But now he doesn't, and now a new Robin is beginning to shine through. Robin doesn't quite know what to do in response.
Not waiting any longer, Robin sweeped down to capture Helen's lips in a deep kiss, his hands finding her hips. He took a deep breath, a warm feeling spreading through his chest like firecrackers as Helen's familiar body found his arms. ulla
