The lion known as Simba was born into royalty. His father and mother were Mufasa and Sarabi, the king and queen of Pride Rock. Mufasa tried to teach his son well, and also gave him a tutor in in Mufasa's feathered adviser, Zazu. However, Simba was often playful and rebellious, feeling he needed to do and learn little as he was destined to be king himself one day. He preferred spending time hanging around and goofing with his best friend Nala or bugging his Uncle Scar. By doing the latter, he opened himself up to his uncle's manipulation. Little knowing his uncle sought to kill Simba and Mufasa and become king himself, he often followed his uncle's "subtle advice." This got him into trouble when he traveled beyond Pride Rock and was almost killed by Scar's Hyena allies. Mufasa saved him then, but tragically his father could not do so in Scar's second scheme. When Simba found himself in danger of being stampeded, he watched his father fall from a cliff in an attempt to save him. Scar then made him believe that it was his fault that his father had been killed. Guilt-ridden, Simba fled from Pride Rock, leaving the land to his wicked uncle.[break][break]
While away, Simba befriended a Merkat named Timon and a Warthog named Pumba. He grew older with them, forgetting his old life. It wasn't until he encounter his one-time best friend, Nala, that he was reminded of his past. While she could not convince him to come back, Simba found he was falling in love with her. It was the baboon, Rafiki, that helped convince Simba was return... or at least set Simba up to be visited by the ghost of his father. The emotional encounter caused Simba to finally trully grow up and return to Pride Rock. Here he discovered that Scar was the one who killed his father and had an epic confrontation with his uncle. In the end, Scar fell and Simba became king, now far more mature than he was in the days that he boasted to everyone who could hear how he was going to be king some day. He and Nala had a cub of their own, a daughter named Kiara.[break][break]
Now a mature and responsible father, Simba worried about his daughter and her friendship with Kovu, one of the dangerous Outsider Lions who lived outside of Pride Rock. Strongly distrusting Kovu, it isn't until both Kovu and Kiara tried to make peace between Simba and the vicious lioness Zira (Kovu's mother) that Simba accepted Kovu and the rest of the younger Outsiders into his Pride.[break][break]
Now after the Curse had hit , Simba is obviously no longer a king. However, he has taken on a strong leadership role as the Community Head of the area known as the Fields. While the Queen rules Wonderland with an iron fist, Simba rules the Fields with courage, dignity, and compassion, all the things that make him a great leader. Despite the Curse, Simba is still Kiara's father, and is just as dedicated to taking care of his daughter as he was before the Curse. While he lets her be free in some respects, he is also quite protective of her as well. As far as the rest of those in the Fields, he tries to do what he can to preserve a strong community in the face of a potential tyrant of a Queen, or at least Simba feels that way about her. He sets up several functions and events to draw everyone together, as well as has placed together a council to vote on community issues.
