Ursula never pretended that she was liked and she did not care if she was liked. Living in the palace had given her all the luxury she could ever want and if she had to put up with the stares and the whispers so be it. She did as she pleased and did not mind the royalty that kept their eyes on her nor the court that tried to control her every movement. They were jealous that they were not so carefree and that they were not as powerful as she was. That was why she was forced away from her home. They were spiteful, ugly things that were envious of her. [break][break]]
She was thrown from her lap of luxury, accused of violent witchcraft. Instead of the castle, she was forced to live in a hovel, never permitted to return back to her status of glory and privilege. If she had been the woman she was before, she would have continued to help out the merpeople in the community as she had done before. For a price of course. She was a business woman after all. But she worked fair and square. She did not consider herself a trickster. However, things change. Attitudes morph as her resentment boiled to a head. Oh yes, yes, she still helped people. But she struck a harder bargain. She played a high stakes gain where she had nothing to lose and everything to gain. And they could lose their life as they knew it. If she had to live in the shadow as an outcast as though she was trash or a mindless beast, then so did they. [break][break]
The only things that gave her any semblance of comfort were her eels. Her precious pets were more or less her children. They minded her well, did exactly as she told them with little resistance. They loved her and she loved them. They did not abandon her like everyone else. She was still their mother. She would die to protect them as they would to protect her. To anyone that would dare take them from her, you better swim. [break][break]
The Panel had been a place for Ursula to find other like minded individuals. Other women who had the same ambitions as she did was something that Ursula did not realize that she need. But she had no idea about how wrong things could go. And that her friends were not so. [break][break]

Salamanda Hawkins had a little shop in the village. She was a jack of all trades, only saying that her place of business was someone where people could find what they need. Salamanda brewed potions, having a knack for extracting the substances from the wonders of this new world. She also fancied herself to be a bit of a matchmaker. She enjoyed playing with the lives of the people there. Something told her that she was once wonderful at it. [break][break]
She had two adopted daughters. She had met the two twins and she instantly took them under her wing. She felt an instant connection to them and they to her. The girls helped her with the business and also scouted out for vulnerable people in the village. They would find people with problems and usher them to her shop where she could sell them a potion that would give them what they needed. But it was at a price. Salamanda did not run a charity. And she was as mean as a snapping turtle when she felt as though she was not being paid her due. She did not like the idea of being taken advantage of. [break][break]
