You were the youngest princess of two born to your mother. But there was a twist, because you were not a normal princess that most people think of. You were a princess of an ant colony. Small in size was something you had been ever since you were born. In fact, it was something that you felt was a flaw, because it made it so you couldn't fly like the others. But it was also something you worked on and tried to stay positive about, even though it was hard for you. Other ants your age would mess with you about it, and it angered you, but you were not going to be the type that used your title against them. You didn't like to do that, and preferred to be treated as though you were not a princess. [break][break]
Though you were close to your older sister, she was not the one you went to for help most of the time. She was always busy trying to be the best and prepare for when she would be queen. The one you turned to, was someone no one would have expected, and honestly someone the colony didn't care for. His name, was Flik. Flik was fun and a generally nice guy. Sure, he was clumsy and made mistakes, but you loved him for it. He wasn't perfect, and he wasn't trying to be. Not to mention, you could tell he had a crush on your sister, which you thought was absolutely adorable! If anyone could make your sister chill out, it would be Flik. [break][break]
However, another mistake led to Flik being sent away. He had an invention that would gather all the food they needed to give Hopper, the grasshopper that was taking their food. But it went downhill and all the food was lost. Flik was going to journey off to find "warrior bugs" after, because it was time that they stood up to Hopper and his gang. You followed Flik to the end of the border, before he went off on his own. You were sad that he had to leave, but you believed in him. You always believed in him. When he finally set off, you were worried. Not for the colony - I mean, you were. How could you not be? - but for him. You hoped he would make it back safe. You hoped that he would bring back help. But you mainly just wanted him home. He was like a brother to you, and one of your best friends despite the age difference.[break][break]
You waited for Flik. Every day, you would journey out to the border to see if you could see him coming back. Finally, one day, he did and he had other bugs with him! You rushed to him to welcome him back. You followed them, happy to see Flik back and with help, but when you got stuck on a dandelion puff in the air, a bird attempted to attack you. With the help of the other bugs, you were saved, and it proved to the colony that they were able to help with Hopper and his gang. You and the blueberries - the other young ants - adopted Francis as your den mother, which was funny because he was male. But he did it, and all the young ants loved him.[break][break]
It wasn't long before the colony found out that the "warrior bugs" were really just circus bugs. Everyone was angry, and decided to kick Flik out for good. It was after they left that the grasshoppers reappeared and started causing trouble. Because of this, you ran off to get Flik and the others to help. Thumper, Hopper's minion, went after you and tried to attack you, leading you to fall off a cliff. However, you did not fall, but flew! Your wings were working! Continuing on, you made your way to Flik and convinced them to come back to help. In the end, you all defeated the grasshoppers and never had to worry about them again. You also received your sister's crown when she became queen. Everything was fine. It as all right. Until the curse happened.[break][break]
