[break][break]Personality: Pongo is well described as man's best friend. He is incredibly loyal and fun loving, but also laid back. He loves a stroll through the park, any time, night or day. He loves listening to acoustic music, especially jazz piano. Because of his best friend Roger's habits of playing the piano for hours on end, Pongo has learned the art of patience, but knows how to make things work out to go his way. He can be conniving at times, but it is always in someone's best interest, normally Roger's. He can be bold and heroic when the occasion calls for it, but he would rather spend time with his family in front of a warm fireplace. He is very intelligent and clever, he loves to tell jokes and make the people around him laugh.
[break][break]History: Pongo has been with Roger for as long as he can remember. The two are best friends, and are often found with one another. He and Roger lived happily in a flat in London, England where Roger was free to practice his music to his hearts content. But Pongo wasn't content with the bachelor life, for himself or his best friend. He made it his goal to find a suitable match for Roger. He considered several candidates for the position before he found the perfect match. A beautiful slender, black and white goddess on four legs. Her person was not to bad looking either. He put his mind to work, scheming how to get them together. He convinced Roger to get out the house and go on a walk to the park where, after a few minutes of frantic searching, Pongo found the ladies sitting near the pond. Acting as cool as could be he sauntered past, a man needs to make a good first impression after all. But Roger was unaware of the true purpose for the jaunt in the park and proceeded to sit down to smoke his pipe. Pongo resorted to trickery, he had to get the two to notice each other. When that didn't work he resorted to a more direct approach and forced the two to meet face to face. Literally. It was only a few months later when Roger and Anita were married. Having accomplished his mission, Pongo settled down as well and married Perdita. The two were soon expecting a litter of puppies which came, quicker than Pongo was prepared for. 15 beautiful baby dalmatians. All would seem to be well for Pongo and his family. And it would have been well, if it had not been for Cruella DeVille. She had an affinity for fur coats, and spots were the latest in fashion. But she couldn't have just any spots, it had to be dalmatian spots. Seeing as Roger would not sell a single puppy, she had her two goons steal every one in the London area, including Pongo's children. The moment Pongo found out, he and Perdita were off to find their children. They braved storms and long, cold nights, but they had to get their puppies back. When they arrived in the holding area they were astonished to find not just their 15 puppies, but 85 additional puppies! They could not very well just leave them and so Pongo and Perdita took it upon themselves to see all 99 puppies to safety. Through a mixture of luck, perseverance, and ingenuity the 101 dalmatians made it all the way home, straight into their happily ever after.
[break][break]Now: But the story was not over, and Cruella had other plans. After the curse set in, and the dalmatians forgot everything, Pongo has been known as Rod "Pongo" Taylor. The nickname was affectionately given to him by the guys at the jazz studio he frequents, and it stuck. He works as a postman, delivering all of the packages and letters people need delivered. He loves meeting new people, walking around the town, chatting with friends along the way. His favorite stop is the orphanage. There are currently 15 children there, all of which adore him. He accepts this adoration, willingly, mostly because he feels the same way about them. Whenever he can he will stop for a few minutes to play with them. He loves to bring them small gifts such as yo-yo's or tops, when he can afford it for a 15 of them. But he has another reason for stopping there. Perdita is the orphanage "mother". He could talk to her all day. She listens to his schemes and laughs at his jokes. She is so kind to the children and everyone around her. He feels as if he is drawn to her for some reason other than her natural beauty, but he can't quite put his finger on it. So he just keeps coming back to deliver the mail, every day, so he can play with the children and get a few precious minutes to spend with her.
